Randy, I believe you should get that Saab 9/3 Turbo. It might not smell the nicest, but you can get it detailed and cleaned up. It's a good solid runner.
I agree with David..it's a strong car some tech2 work an detailing but v6 an a straight ng motor! I love my Saabs so I'mma go with that..
Depending on price of course, the Saab might be interesting content. Most of the roof damage could be pushed/pulled out, and as long as the window frame isn't deformed, the back window can be replaced. It's filthy, but whatever's dirty can be cleaned. Thing runs like a top.
As a Saab guy I really hope you get that Turbo V6! Such a shame it was neglected like that, i have a 9-5 Aero and I think that Saabs deserve to be on the road!

Hello Randy, I own a 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero 4 cylinder turbo 5 speed Black and chrome like the 9-3 in this video. It has 260,000 miles on it and still runs strong. I love my Saab. I bought it for $ 1000.00 off of FB Marketplace. It has never failed to start and runs out awesome. Buy the 9-3 and fix it. Clean it up and it will make someone a really nice car. Buy The Land Rover also for $1600.00. You can't go wrong.

No reason to laugh Randy! That Saab 9-3 was one of the best cars in the class just next to the BMW 3 Series at the time. I would love to see this generation (prelift 9-3 II) on the channel! This one though - OMG - rough but on the other hand restoration of such car would be super cool to watch and a lot of content to make!
P.S Radio problem is probably AMP2 amplifiter under the drivers seat.
I've had 2 2.8 9-3s, great engine! It's definitely a tight fit in there. The oil pressure sensor fails and causes a low pressure warning common on earlier ones. Coil packs go bad too.

I heard that if you replace the coil packs with the ones from the facelifted 9-3, you'll solve that issue

As someone who used to work for Saab, I never liked the v6 turbo. The 4-cyl was the better motor, more reliable, more fun, easier to work on.
easier to work on 100% but fun and reliability? v6 gets the cake anyday, a much much stronger motor.
The Saab is a great car. Drop it off at the glass shop, have your detail shop do it up in and out, it would look like a totally different car

The 9-3 is on my top 10 list of cars I'd love to just have around , awesome awesome body style , sad Saab was lost in the GM mess but either way I love these ! I would never touch that with the roof damage it's just beyond worth it

The Saab and the Subaru would be good cars. When you were walking to the Mercedes, I thought you were going to show the Ford Ranger in front of the Subaru. Also a quick revisit of the 280ZX.

That Saab would be great if it weren't for the body damage and neglect. Saabs are pretty much bulletproof if they are maintained properly.
I see a lot of fellow Saab enthusiasts in the comments saying to get the Saab. I think that it is a great car, but this one is in terrible shape and honestly better suited to be a parts car to keep some other Saabs on the road.

The LR3 land Rover buttons for the horn are on the left and right there’s no button in the middle to push down you have to hit the plastic between the leather

I've lived in southern Wisconsin for over 40 years. I've never garaged any of my vehicles, and can't recall ever having any hail damage.
Get the Saab. I love these. My favorite is the 9-3 Viggen. Wrong car for people who love to drive fast. It'll get you in trouble!

All the Saab needs is the junk cleaned from the intake port for the hvac cleaned and the ant nest cleaned luckily the tiny kept the window from shattering all the way but I think it be worth fixing and selling

my Swedish dreams involve 9-5 Aero wagons, but I see the potential in this 9-3 Aero sedan...for $1150 plus fees, a back window, and many many many many hours of cleaning, it's not going to be a money maker for you but it'll give you a lot of content as you get it as nice as it CAN be within reason...it's not the kind of car to restore, just get it nice and get up on the freeway and plant your right foot down and make that boost gauge pay the rent for the right half of it's property on the cluster

I agree that would be scary driving through a hailstorm. My parents did that when we were vacationing up in Michigan in a hailstorm. Dad dropped us off at a Walmart and he was trying to save our van to no avail cause everyone had the same idea. But that was scary but I also got caught in the middle of a microburst. And surprisingly my ford focus came out with just a little ding on the front fender

What I believe happened to the SAAB was something fell on it damaging the roof and the back window.... he owner probably lost interest in the car or coukdnt figure out the funding for the repairs, so the owner parked it under a tree causing the accumulation of the leaves, bugs, dirt, etc!!
I would love to get that Crosstrek as I want to get one for my daughter once she starts driving... Hail cars make great 1st time driver cars!!
I mean, if the Saab is cheap enough and if the parts are relatively inexpensive, you could give it a try.. the main concern for me would be the head gasket.
