This is a perfect example of a cabover work truck. Doesn’t need any of that chrome garbage. Maybe a stock looking visor but otherwise should just leave it. Maybe a taller muffler stack also. Shouldn’t do pulls with it either. Do closer deliveries and pickups with it. Could put a lowboy on it and haul stuff to shows. Probably is fuel efficient too. Don’t ruin a bone stock truck, there aren’t many left from that age. Find another more common sleeper truck for pulling.

That particular model WhiteGMC is rare you don't see them around as clean as that one, usually when you see one it's beat to death and not much left of it. If it was mine I would put a little longer stack on it and that's about it. That thing would be perfect for those back roads delivery and pick ups. But it's his truck and he'll do what he wants with it.

Other than new tires, I’d leave her stock! It was an amazing find, so don’t ruin it with accessories or by using it for tractor pulling. This would make a great unit for local tractor pick ups and deliveries. Get her buffed out and take care of the minor dings and this thing will be mint! 👍

70s and they were nothing like this. In the UK they were sold as the White Road Commander. They usually had a Cat 3406 or a Cummins NTE. Both engines were notoriously heavy on fuel compared to all European manufactured engines with the exception of the Fiat NT35 which was an absolute animal on diesel. 3306B is a tough little engine, but at 330 hp maximum it's not going to pull competitively. Stock or stoked, 10 liters is only 2/3 of the 15-L 3406 series. The 7-speed is bulletproof and pretty usable once you get into 3rd. As quick as you take that wet kit off you'll find a use for it!

These were basically just re-badged old White Road COEs where the design was already 20 years old in 1989. I worked for a large air freight company that got a bunch of them dirt cheap when a Michigan rock hauler cancelled its order. Cummins, 10-speed, dump exhaust, but set up to haul HEAVY rock, not aircraft containers. We hated them because you spent most of your time bouncing off the headliner, but they were tough and reliable.

Check to see if you have 12 volts going in and out of the switch on the dash, then move down to the switch on the injector pump, you should have 12 volts on one side with the switch on,with the throttle at idle you should see 12 volts in and out, then move up to the plugs on the side of the rocker box.very simple system,if you have 12 volts all the way to the rocker box than the Jake solenoids are bad or stuck from sitting.they run on oil pressure and it's common for a truck that sits for those to stick.
