Roie I have to say a massive THANK YOU for choosing Scarred. That’s still my personal no.1 DT track 30 years later. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
1) Bridges in the Sky 2) Peruvian Skies 3) Under A Glass Moon 4) On the Backs of Angels 5) S2N 6) Constant Motion 7) Stream of Consciousness 8) Surrounded 9) Panic Attack 10) Ytse Jam 11) 6:00 12) Trial of Tears
I f**ng LOVE that you guys brought us over an hour with one of my favourite musos ever... Any time you want to get individual interviews with the rest of the band is ok with me :) .... Thanks Jordan for spending your time like this ... Much appreciated !
Nuts, mission impossible but I'll have to give it a try. 12 tracks is challenging but I will also limit myself to one song per album. This is today's list and a honourable mention for Mike's Score tracklist that nails many of my favourites: Disc 1 58:12 1. Under a Glass Moon 7:03 2. Innocence Faded 5:42 3. A Change of Seasons 23:09 4. Lines in the Sand 12:05 5. Beyond this Life 11.23 Disc 2 58:17 6. In the Presence of Enemies (parts 1&2 of course) 25:38 6b. Losing Time 6:00 7. Octavarium (live version from Score) 26:39 Disc 3 64:06 8. The Count of Tuscany 19:18 9. Bridges in the Sky 11:01 10. Illumination Theory (live version from Breaking the Fourth Wall) 19:23 12. Pale Blue Dot 8:26 Bonus track: YTSE Jam 5:58
Doing an interview with Jordan, especially in anticipation of DT 15, is exciting! The only thing that could make this even better,is timestamps on the video about the different topics you discussed. Not all followers have 1 hour to watch an interview, but want to hear something more specific. Think about it for your next,or even this, episodes.👍
My picks, limiting to one song per album: Disc 1: 1. The Glass Prison 2. Scarred. 3. Learning to Live 4. Trial of Tears 5. The Count of Tuscany Disc 2: 6. As I Am 7. The Dark Eternal Night 8. The Spirit Carries On 9. Breaking All Illusions 10. Octavarium Too long, I know.
It's funny that I did something similar to this recently with one of my best friends and it pops up on my feed. But this is my top 10 Dream Theater songs I would love the "Ultimate DT" album to be like. 1) Illumination Theory 2) Breaking All Illusions 3) A Nightmare to Remember 4) Misunderstood 5) Space-Dye Vest 6) Pale Blue Dot 7) The Count of Tuscany 8) In the Presence of Enemies (both parts) 9) Awaken the Master 10) A View from the Top of the World
My seleciton, also trying to keep it to max one track / almbum 1. The killing hand 2. Metropolis pt. 1 - the miracle and the sleeper 3. Scarred 4. A change of seasons 5. Trial of Tears 6. Home 7. The great debate 8. This dying soul 9. In the prescense of enemies (counting pt. 1 & 2 as one song LOL) 10. The count of Tuscany 11. Bridges in the sky 12. Illumination theory
If I had to pick three, I'd say: 1) A Change Of Seasons 2) Enigma Machine 3) At Wit's End Two of them are my two favourite Dream Theater songs, and I threw Enigma Machine in there because it's my favourite standalone DT instrumental (It would be Hell's Kitchen, but it serves as an intro to Lines In The Sand, so for me it doesn't stand alone as well).
If I had to pick 3 more that weren't already picked I would go with Space Dye Vest, Panic Attack and Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (is that cheating?)
I consider Dance of Eternity to be one of the greatest songs ever written including classical up there with Beethoven's 9th so is When the Water Breaks
agree on A Change of Seasons of course also got to see them perform it (philly on the Awake anniversary tour) no MP, but MM was 'on' that night (many said it was the best /most spirit he'd played with)
The Glass Prison In the Presence of Enemies pt. 2 Metropolis pt. 1 Voices A Change of Seasons Trial of Tears Misunderstood Fatal Tragedy Dance of Eternity This Dying Soul Octavarium The Spirit Carries On
near misses: Lines in the Sand Caught in a Web War Inside My Head/Test That Stumped Them All Th Root of All Evil Endless Sacrifice The Mirror Under a Glass Moon

These Walls is such a great mention! What a powerful song.. the melodies and the outro and everything
Awake is already the ultimate DT album
Amen
Awake was my 1st DT album at the time. Sold me right away. Never looked back
I cant believe how underrated is that album for real
Ok, Jordan just became my favorite person by picking Take the Time. Such an underappreciated gem. One of my favorite songs by anyone ever.
Doing an interview with Jordan, especially in anticipation of DT 15, is exciting!
The only thing that could make this even better,is timestamps on the video about the different topics you discussed.

Great watch! My 3, and I'm splitting them across eras:-
1. Pull Me Under
2. Octavarium
3. The Looking Glass
prison glass
These Walls has always been one of my favorites. The outro groove is amazing.
Breaking all illusions would definitely be on my list
The greatest song Dream Theater ever made.
1. Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence
2. In The Presence Of Enemies (part 2 if you dont count both parts as one single song)
3. Voices
Rudess = like then listen!
The greatest musician around today.
Learning to live is still my fav tune by DT, I love everything they do but that one was special to me.
My picks, limiting to one song per album:
Disc 1:
1. The Glass Prison
2. Scarred.

Love that Jordan picked These Walls. Song is one of my favorites as well

Agreed but I like Erotomania as the best instrumental
@@UnderworldInferno Erotomania's pretty damn good too, but for whatever reason I don't go back to it much unless I'm listening to Awake in full.
@@faroffgrace5490 yeah I’m a little biased because Awake is my favorite album but can’t go wrong with any of them!!
in no order: Erotomania, The Spirit Carries on, Losing Time/Grand Finale (if you can't pick the entirety of SDOIT)
Not one pick from the Post Portnoy era lol. Welcome home MP. We all missed you. Btw, Jordan doing this is so friggin cool
If I had to pick 3 more that weren't already picked I would go with Space Dye Vest, Panic Attack and Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (is that cheating?)
These Walls specify the times we're living in right now in 2023!!...
