- In this Video we show you How to Install the New ZR 1 Wing From Extreme Online Store On My C7 Corvette.
This Wing is a Prototype that is about to go on sale and we test the kit to see how it works and it Installed Perfectly and Looks Awesome.
I am so Happy with how it made my Corvette look.
Be sure to check out Extreme Online Stores web site at:
www.ExtremeOnlineStore.com
Hey guys, love to see how good friends you are and wrench together, joking around and showed us how good the wing fits. Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany 😎
Thank you for such a thorough video, didn't miss a single bolt! Mine should be here in a couple days!
Just bought the spoiler few hours ago as it was released. I watched the video and thought the video helped me to easily install myself. Had I not seen this video I might not have thought about buying. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Scott, I emailed the Extreme online Store and asked them to to notify me when the wing would be available. I credited you, and your great video.
Thank you so much!!! Thanks for Watching!!
Good day; very informative and detailed vlog, and to add, the Corvette looks awesome.
Thank you!
I need one where you guy’s located for installation?
Great video guys! It was fun watching you, waiting for our Victor racing wing to arrive.
The wing is beautiful! Excited to install but would have loved if the video would have shown all the included parts and the assembly of the brackets. Luckily we can figure it out but for a general consumer they may be confused. The rest of the video is super helpful!
Maybe you missed part of the Video, but we show everything in the Video. Have a Great DAY!!
I was thinking the same thing how do they do a video on how to but don’t show how it was put together.
Wow! The C7 looks amazing with the new wing. Love the video and all the details. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you both very much! We followed every step and this video was excellent and made install much easier. I will say the only improvement would be to say which screws you were using for each step.
The view of your backyard has me dreaming to be like you. The car looks awesome. You have to be very rich to have a view like that. Aaaah well I guess I can dream. I'm going up to stage 3 on my 19 C7. However I love the ZR 1 wing.
Thanks for watching!! I'm far from rich trust me!! But I am pretty lucky!!
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL Haha. Thx for the great detail and simple instructions in your videos. Enjoy.
What do you recommend for flaping and cracking issues?
I’m going to be trying this. Great description of the process.
Thanks You will love it!
Looks great. Awesome job putting it together very clear understanding of each step and how to mount. Great job guys👍🏻
Thank you Linda... I couldn't do it without Terry and John's help!!
Great job guys only thing was no mention of drill bit size and more bolt size description.
I’m going to attempt the wing tomorrow with some friends on my 2017 grand Sport. I’ve watched other videos but found you guys gave a better details.
Thank you and I’ll let you know how it went.
I bought this wing for my 2018 zo6 and it is totally awesome Money well spent.
I'm so glad you like it! I know I do!
You crack me up. You’ve gone through all three spoilers and said on stage two that was it for years. Then you went to stage three, lol. Now the wing. I will have have to say, I like it. Though it did look like a lot of work.
Hi Mark... I agree with you I really did like the Stage 2 better than the Stage 3. But when I found out that I could get my Stingray to look like a ZR-1 , I was hooked. I dont ever act or try to pass it off as a Real ZR-1, but man I love the look.
Thanks for watching!!
THE CORVETTE CHANNEL I agree. You got the front bumper done before me. I’m waiting on Vicrez to ship mine and thinking about that wing...damn you, lol.
Hey, now I don't feel so bad. i do the exact same thing. I think I'm addicted to adding stuff on my corvette. I will say this, he makes it look easy but I know he has experience and the right tools. This is not as easy as it looks for those of us who are not handy. My luck, I'll drill in the wrong damn place.
Thank you both for making this video, looking forward installing mine by using your instructional video.. More power to you guys!!!!
The car looks great l like the wing and everything else you've done. Also that background and the car makes me want to be there. Good work really informative. Nosale 👍🏾🙏🏾
Great Video!!! I just finished installing the same wing on my 2015 Stingray. The wing did not come with any directions which made it challenging, but thanks to your video I was able to get through it. It took me two days to complete, but it’s done. Thanks again!
By the way, I’m converting my Stingray into a Widebody... it’s a custom kit and look... Similar to a Liberty Walk conversion. When I’m done, I’m naming the car “Frankenstein”.... it’s made up of different C7 model components such as Z06 Stage 3 Splitter, Z06 Side Skirts, Grand Sport Wheels &Tires, and Lastly the ZR1 Wing...
Great video, surprised you guys didn’t use a dremel tool on cutting the bumper cover and inside cavity! That portion of the video made me nervous! I used a dremel tool one time cutting my rear bumper on a SUV to install a drawtite, so I can relate to how cutting that can make you nervous! Well done video, excellent tips and tricks and taking off my C7 Z06 bumper wouldn’t make me nervous any longer with your detailed video! Thanks
We learned a lot from that install. It was the very first one to be done. Yes we are now using a small very strong Dremel saw now.
I thougt the most pretty of this video was that vette until I see the background, gosh!!!!! what a view you guys got there, nice job btw
Thank you!!! It is a Beautiful view for sure!
Love your helpful videos but I can’t see a Stingray with this as much as a Z06. I’d do the wheels in a quality Forgestar setup first and have kept the stage 3, but that’s why we all have different setups. Thanks for the informative vids.
What a beautiful property Terry is on. Wing looks great and adds more black bits, i would def modify the engine and exhaust to keep up with that wing!! Also Jennifer needs to black out her tail lights :))
Thanks Lee
I like it man Terry cool as hell!!!👍👍👍
So tickled about how it looks, you pulled it out of garage for us to see, then poof! It was back in garage! Nice!
Thank you for the video!
About the only thing I could see as an improvement would be an option, or different brackets, for the lower wing; i.e. the wing that came standard.
I checked with EOS and they said that they have NO plans to make brackets for the lower wing.
Altbough myself not being an engineer, I cannot see why not. Just make the bracket about 4-5 inches shorter.
I guess I'll need to look elsewhere, IF there is an elsewhere to look.
Thanks for the vid so very helpful, step by step and very clear instructions etc. Glad I discovered your chan! Any idea how does the wing do at the track days? I probably need some front/side aero else it might mess up the aero in C7 Z06 stage 1 eh? Always loved the zr1 wing style and was looking at if anyone made it available. Good price too! Might wait for a sale and get one!
Glad it was helpful!
I love the wing but i still want that long brake light. is there anyway to keep the long brake light?
Sorry no it is a complete replacement
Hey guys I love your video again and again because I want one of the same CR one wins and I’m gonna start on my cell so I like it thank you very much and you have a great day
Great Video!! I am thinking of one for my 15' Z/06. How about next video, you install Vicrez ZR1 nose?
Thanks for the video .. I bought the Carbon Fiber edition and when it came time to put the brackets onto the wing I couldn’t get the screws to tighten I used the loctite and waited a few hours and they still had play, I called EOS and they told me to take it to a mechanic? They would not give me any information? Of course there were no directions or trouble shooting tips .. I’m thinking of using a little epoxy and just turning the screws until they stop and let that set ? Good idea or? I did use epoxy on the winglet pieces along with some double sided tape as you did on the other video.. that seems to be solid .. thanks
You could use some washers to take up the slack or use a tap to fix the threads.
Do you think the epoxy is not a good idea ?
@@marcambrosius5478 oh the epoxy will help for sure I was just wanting to make sure you got it right with no problems
Thank you for all your help 😀
Great detailed video of the install. Question? Did you keep the wing on the car or go back to original? How is the reaction of the general Corvette lovers out there. I have a 2019 Grand Sport and I am considering it but sometimes less is more. Your opinion would be appreciated.
Wondering if you could help me out ! I got this wing off a totaled zo6 at my local junk yard the rear bumper was rear ended and I was unable to grab the mounting hardware would I be able to just buy the mounting hardware for my 2016 z51 or will it not work since it came off a 2015 zo6? I can’t find a difference besides it saying on the website WIDE for zo6 , grand sport / BASE for stingray if I order the mounting hardware would I order it for the base ?
Hi Chris,
The mounting kit is the same for Z51 and Z06. When they refer to the wide Body or Z51 they are talking about the width of the wing itself.
I am not sure if they will sell just the mounting kit without the wing you will need to contact them to see.
Best of Luck!!
Scott
Great video. What are the side pieces just above the side skirts on the rear quarter panels?
If you want to stand out from the rest order this wing I had one install on my 2018 zo6 totally awesome.
I have a question again, the long studs that goes in the base spoiler i dont have. do EOS send different bolts that goes in the spoiler to mount it to the bumper cover?
You need to contact them and have them send you the threaded screws for that. You need them
They will send them to you.
They must have not packed them in the box.
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL i just called them and this DH told me i have to go to a hard ware store to get the studs
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL do you know where i can get any of those threaded screws? EOS claim that i have to go to a hard ware store when they should have had them in the packet. I was sayiing how good the product is but now I see they have a packing issue. the carbon fiber wing cost a lot and for not have all of the hard ware is ridiculous.
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL I want the zr1 front but I guees i wont get from them if they are pussy footing around about 5 screws. that should have been in the package in the first place.
Hi James please email me your full name and address to thecorvettechannel @gmail.com and I will reach out to them and see if I can get them to send you the screws.
Holy criminey! That cutoff wheel on the drill scared the bejesus outta me!... It worked but...
LOL Thanks for Watching!!
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL Thanks for the video! A customer brought us in one of these spoiler/wings sans instructions. Of course Extreme doesn't answer their phone and their VM is full... Yay! I've installed dang near every other Corvette spoiler under the sun, so I could wade through it, but to save my time and the customers money I hit the good ole Tube. As luck would have it, I found yall havin fun, showin how it's done! Anyhow, thanks again!... From me and the rest of Corvettes of Auburn
Just received mine from Extreme Online Store. Getting it installed on my 2017 C7 Z06. How does it perform at track speeds?
HI Rick when you get yours installed make sure they screw the stabilizer bar together and glue it into the cavity inside the wing and that will stiffen it up pretty good. Make sure you Epoxy the End caps on and not just use the sticky tape. After you do that it will be pretty strong. I have mine up to 155 MPH and it did great!! Good Luck and Thanks for watching!!
Great Video !!! You Sold me !!! Cant wait to get mine !!!
installed the wing on my Z06 and when it came time to add the side winglets there was no way to attach. they sent me this double sided tape and i added like the said. put them on and applied pressure for about 5 mins. they are not solid and you can wiggle them around. this scares the crap out of me as i can see them flying off as im driving down 77 at 75mph. are the not supposed to be solid and not loose and what do i do now? thanks for the help
Hi I agree with you.i didn't know they were double sided stick taped, when I got this kit the winglets were already attached when I got them. Later after this video was filmed I took them apart and epoxied them on.
I would expoxied them on.
Best of Luck
I like it, and I want one. I also like the rear diffuser. 👍🏻👍🏻
Does the low wing zr1 3zr have the same interior support bracket as the high wing?? Would you still recommend your wing to buyers??
How much would your shop charge to install the zr1 front bumper and the rear wing?
Hi there... please reach out to me at thecorvettechannel@gmail.com or give me a call at 916-412-7268.
The 2018 BRZ tS (sti) spoiler retails higher than this new conversion rear spoiler ZR 1 high wing. The prices are $3,424 + shipping compared to $2,200 (or $1,300) + shipping respectively.
Thanks for the video .. I will be buying this wing this week .. is it ready to ship?
They usually have them in stock for shipment. Thanks for watching!!
Has it been tested in a Wind tunnel? Or is it just for looks?
I ready installed the same tile the wing from extreme online I like is very nice 👍
Good choice
Looks fantastic! Great job on the install. You installed that on a Stingray, yes? Is the wing sized for a Stingray (being that the Stingray is not as wide as the Z06 or ZR1?
There will be two versions of the spoiler. The version that compatible with C7 Grand Sport / Z06 model will come out sooner than the version that compatible with Stingray / Z51 model.
Yes I put on my Stingray but it is just so slight you really dont notice it!
@@extremeonlinestoreYT that is great to know! I might have to break down and do this mod on my Carbon Fiber Edition Stingray.
Does anyone know where you can get the side plates for the wing ? The car wash damaged one of mine
Looks great, would love to do this with my C7 Z06. One question, are bolts that attach the wing to the bumper exposed, such that the wing could be stolen? Not sure how the ZR1 is attached, but I would be concerned about theft. Now I personally don't leave my vette out long, but if I did, theft is a concern. Thanks for your consideration on this question. Great channel. Love the work.
Yes they are, and I never thought of that. I keep my car in the garage. I hate the idea that we have people like that! But Good Question!
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL After discussing the issue with the installers, they suggested using the same quality screw, but utilizing a Security Torx head. This offers some level of security to prevent theft. I too park my Vette in a garage an I only take it out for joyrides. It is not my daily driver. Great channel, love the content.
My heart broke when he cut into the bumper. But i like the opportunity to mount the spoiler on and off, because i would like to switch it sometimes. Is there a way to protect the screws from water and dirt or fill the gap when the spoiler is not mounted?
If you take the Wing off and put the original spoiler back on everything would be covered
Hi again I read where you answered a comment about drilling and glueing the winglets. Is it necessary to do. Or is it just for peace of mind?
Thanks
It seamed strong for a while and then I noticed my wing end caps was moving a little so I epoxyed it. When we install them in the shop we epoxy them. No one wants to loose a wing cap.
Thanks for watching and good luck.
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL
I had a winglet come lucky I found it undamaged . I’m going to epoxy them on
Well, I may have spoken to soon about how satisfied I am with my wing spoiler installed on my C7 stingray. The end pieces of the wing spoiler have held up at 100 mph. However, one of my end pieces just came off when I wiped the wing down after washing my car. The end pieces can hold up at 100 mph but the adhesive and epoxy cannot withstand a wipe down after washing the car. :(
There has to be a way to screw these end pieces on. I do not want to worry about the end pieces every time I drive or wash my car.
Or I can just take the end pieces off. In my opinion, the wing still looks good without the end pieces.
AG I am sorry about that. I am thinking that your epoxy did not grab hold well enough. When I epoxied mine I drilled some holes in the end of the wing so the epoxy would go into the wing and have something to grab hold of. You might give that a try.
Does extreme online store sell the end pieces separately? I would like to buy two extra end pieces. I have a feeling I will lose one or two while driving.
@@a.g.8343 I'm sorry I dont know you would need to call them. I will be checking with them about that myself soon, just so we know for sure one way or another. I am hoping so.
You guys and wing awesome great job.
Is it possible to modify the installation to keep the stage 3 wing on with the ZR1 wing?
It may be possible but it would require cutting and painting the Stage 3 Spoiler and I really don't think that would look good at all.
Hey Scott, I was just curious about your rear wheel disc brake vents. Where did you get them and are they functional?
I have a question for you and Terry in regards to this ZR one wing after owning it for a few months now. First is there any movement and is the winglets staying secure? I am told that it will be available for my stingray late August. I also would have a request for you. Knowing that you have lots of pull with EOS, LOL Do you think you could get them to carbon fiber dip the wing, like they do did on the diffusers?
Hi Scott,
I understand that a smaller Stingray version is in the plans. I am not sure at this point about them making it in Carbon Fiber, but that may happen. The Winglets stay pretty stable. I found out later that my wing the Winglets were 2 sided stick tape and I decided to pull it apart and drill some hole on the inside and attach them with Epoxy and the Epoxy could go thru the holes so it would make a real tight bond.
Is there any sound change...??
Can you hear any difference in sounds..??
I dont notice any difference in sound.
I am having the ZR-1 front bumper put on my Z51. Your car looks awesome with the wing--I may have to consider it!
I plan on doing the front bumper slso.
Hello, I noticed this coversion rides really low, was this your case?
Amazing content! Any idea if the assembly of this wing similar to weapon x zr1 wing kit? If so, it well surly save plenty of time. I have mine shipped to me but didn’t install it yet on my grandsport :)
I'm sorry I cant answer that.I dont know their products.
This is the same as the Weapon X and Factory set up as far as installation. Weapon X only offers the wide body piece under the wing. It requires cutting 1/8 inch on each side etc. For a Stingray (The body wing)
Curious, how did you attach the winglets to the actual wing? Screws, Epoxy, or both? Or some other way? thanks
I am not sure how they are attached. They were already attached, but there is no screws visible, so I am assuming some sort of adhesive.
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL Based on your video, I went ahead and ordered the wing for my Z06. EOS said the winglets can be attached using screws, epoxy, or double sided tape. I would never use double sided tape for this application. The father and son team out here in NY who are doing the installation plan on attaching the winglets using a combination of Screws and epoxy. They will be hiding the screws. I plan on filming this part and will post.
i asked could you all tell me do i need to take the front bumper off to install the front camera?
*if you have a stingray then order the stingray kit because the third tail light will be a couple inch outward if you order the Z06/Grandsport kit and it will not fit properly on the stingray.*
i have bought that wing but i need someone to put iot on for me who would i go to
Terry and I install them.
Where are you located?
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL i live in north Carolina
@@michealfrye630 sorry about that. You can always drive out to California! Lol!
I have looked up the site to order one. Are they not available to order yet. If so can you post a link?
They will be available soon. They are expecting them in about a month.
Any estimate on how long it took to install???
Will the zo6/grandsport wing fit a stingray or will I need to wait for the stingray edition to come out
The Wing you see me install in the video is the Z06/ Grandsport version. The brackets are the same. The Wing is a little bigger but if I had the choice I would still go with the bigger one!
Where are these guys located?
We are located about an hour North of Sacramento California
So I have a ZO6 and noticed you put on a new brake light. Does that mean I have to get a new brake light or can I use the same one?! Please respond ASAP my wing is coming tomorrow
I am so sorry I did not see this until now. But you get a new light with the wing.
THE CORVETTE CHANNEL it’s all good figured it out :)
Nice ZR1 wing. Are you going to sell your old wickerbill? If you do I would like to buy it.
Not sure yet
Has there been any reports of water leaks into the rear end after install of this wing?
No none.
But the all of the hardware for the wind are mounted outside of the trunk. So the water would just run down on the ground.
Thanks for the response. My wing arrived in the mail a couple of days ago but I am having a difficult time getting any professional in my area to install the wing. They don’t want to take the risk.
@@a.g.8343 I'm sorry...are you anywhere close to me here in California?
I’m about an hour and 45 minutes south of Atlanta Georgia. Can you refer me to someone in this region that will install it?
I prefer not to travel to Atlanta for installation. Traffic is terrible there.
have question this ZR1 wing kit i can installed on my corvette grand sport 2019 please let me know ,you mens due at very good job a you car thanks
Hello...thanks for the compliment. Yes it will fit on your Grand Sport!! Check out there web site www.extremeonlinestore.com for more details.
If you plan on tracking your car, I would not do it! the wing looks good but it flexes up and down way too soft.
I did have it installed on my 2016 Z06. I have spent twice the money just get the parts., some from GM. I Ordered a Carbon fiber Wing that advertises it will mount with GM parts. Not so fast, the brackets on the tub under the bumper is different on a 2019 Z06. So i did use the brackets from the original kit and machined a bracket to make the transition to the GM mounting. Finishing the install of the Carbon Fiber wing.
Certain wings are good for tracking and others for looks
i wish someone who had this wing install with the iron bar stability and go over 80 MPH just to see if the wing moves up and down or not. just post a video to proof that the wing is stable .
I see it looks like you have foil tape on your LED sidemarkers. Any reason? I order them for my C7 yesterday.
If you purchased Oracle Brand you womt have an issue. If you purchased them from ebay you will need to do that to stop the electronic interference from the LEDs going to the Tire Pressure Sensor receiver.
When the lights are on for a little while you will get a Service Tire Pressure System warning showing you lost connection to the sensor and if you shit off the lights the warning goes away.d
So if you wrap each light in foil it stops thos from happening.
Good luck!
as usual - Thanks for all the great content.
I just ordered them form Southern Car Parts - they fit flush, but can throw the code. I wondered if foil would work but never put it on CorvetteForurms. I'll use foil - thanks!
Love it looks great! I look forward to seeing how much it cost 👍🏽
Could not find this Zr1 wing on their website yet.
I will be about another month. But it's coming so get ready!!
@ Jerry Lee go to Weapon X website they sale the wing. I ordered mine from them. It takes a long time to receive it. It's suppose to take 6 to 8 weeks but it took mine 6 months. They said it's because of the manufacturer. Anyway I had it installed with the low mount brackets and it looks amazing.
The spoiler will be available within a month or two and we are going to offer this spoiler under $2000!
@@extremeonlinestoreYT what is your website URL? Www....

They have been delayed by this Covid crap.
I check with them every couple of weeks.
As soon. As they are available I will get them.
Not my style, but it does look good and the video was awesome. EOS has some great products.

Looks great but the final screws should of been black instead of silver, attention to detail makes a big difference
Where did you get the wing from and what was the price?

Really look great
very good job your gais are good and all
*should of done a G force comparison without the wing and with the wing on.*
Looks great but I can’t find it online
Keep looking online it should be available in about a month
Just bought it today. It’s available as of about 6 hrs ago
Beautiful!
Wish this was for the stingray...
I love it
It's a bit much for a vette, the prior one looks so much better, it's like you're trying to make it look like a "rice rocket"....... good video, as always.
I like the idea but I think the wing is to large. The concept would look better about 20% smaller over all.
Ross Kulma By the end of August they will have a wing for the stingray that is about 20% smaller.
