things you missed sammy:
1. the ending orchestral music was the instrumental used in outro: tear
2. the girls here represent their 'anima'. it is the unconscious feminine side of a man that transcends their personal psyche. this is part of the 4 jungian archetypes: self/ ego, persona, shadow
3. suga gets so surprised bec he hasnt been contacted by any of the members for a long time and from what i remember, he gets a text message from jhope that jungkook's been in a car accident.
4. you didnt notice how all items of the girls were yellow. the hair tie, the lollipop, the sweatshirt. it may represent serendipity or happiness (linking it to the mv's color scheme and how they presented yellow)
5. y.k. is for yunki/ yoongi (this is suga's real name min yoongi)
6. jhope's been left by his mom in the carnival and he grew up in an orphanage. (this is also what's in jhope's /room/ in the fake love mv)
7. the most important part of all - jin's role in the story. i won't say but you didnt figure it out ;-;

Iirc, when all these came out Korean ARMY shared that the Y.K.was actually meant to stand for a Korean phrase akin to "Don't smoke". I wish I remembered exactly what it was.

JUNGKOOK is in a wheel chair because he was hit by a car. SEOKJIN, the girl that passed him dropped her diary, he later found her and helped her do everything on her to-do list, but she later on died. NAMJOON had monet problems from the beginning, he had a sick father and couldn’t afford medical help. So Namjoon got MANY part time jobs, but couldn’t handle the pressure. TAEHYUNG had a abusive father, who would beat BOTH TAEHYUNG AND HIS SISTER. Taehyung got tired of it and stabbed his father, causing him to go to jail, like in (I NEED U). JIMIN was in the hospital in “Run, I NEED U, and Lie” because one day at a bus stop, he was at with J-Hope, Jimin had a seizure and he went to the hospital but his parents were ashamed of Jimin “problem” and made him stay there, forever or until he was “fixed.” J-HOPE suffered from disease, where you think your sick, but in reality you’re just making it all up. JHOPES mother left him alone and never came back when J-Hope was a child.

BTS are heavily inspired by Carl Jung's theories (a philosopher) so actually all the girls in the Highlight Reels represent the Anima of each member, as in the feminine side of a man. Whereas an animus represents the masculine side of a woman. In BTS's music videos, they seem to explore different facets of Carl Jung's theories such as the Shadow, the Ego, the Hero, the Persona etc. Black Swan for instance is one of the videos that expresses the idea of the Shadow of Carl Jung (our subconscious self that we hide from others and even ourselves) but in this video they mainly focus on the Anima.
it's true what i can't understand the "relationship" between Jimin, J-Hope and just one "anima" Ryujin . This is the only thing that i can't connect with the Demian and Carl Jun theories. (Well, saying "the only" maybe it's too much) hahaha
Patricia Lerida Idk if this gets connected but in the notes, Jimin mentions ryujin as a friend they hang out with i didn't really understand what he sees on the girl but it was something negative and he wanted to be someone of equal to Hoseok becausd both of them love dancing and then ryujin shows up and dances with hoseok. Now, Jimin dances hard to reach this equalness with Hoseok? Or with Ryujin? Idk. I'm prolly gonna go back reading the notes again to understand everything further
I was lurking on the comment section from this video and someone said it is confirmed that the girls are real? In Notes pt 1.
They also said there is a romantic subplot with some of the members and the girls so I don't know if this is true. Also I don't know if ARMY decided to ignore this and make other theories lol (I know this fandom is jealous but come on people lol)
But at the same time with the last albums, BTS really went deep with the Carl Jung's theories so maybe the girls are the Anima of BTS members after all. Which, BTW, we haven't seen in the albums, they only talked about Persona, Shadow and Ego but ignores Animu/Anima and Self.

@@BellroseJewel there are too many conections between all the videos so the boy-girl relationship could not be real becuse in thoses theories they are not people, they are the ego, the perdona, the shadow,.. In the vids we can see an Abraxas paperwall, the black bird, the word EVA, the i'm fine/save me, the sand, the flower, the mirror, water, fire,... it's too much. I really don't mind if there are girls they love in MVs, perfect. Better if they have it in their real lifes but if the girls are real and they are real... I can't understand the short films and, blood, sweat and tears or Fake Love.

I’ve watched this highlight reel a lot of times before but i still didn’t understand anything. But after reading the webtoon and watching this again I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD!! The last scene where jin took off his sweater and changed into his fit from the first scene especially took it away. (I want to spoil sammy so much but i need to hold it in)
Seul Bear Right I was still confused after reading Save Me, but I recently watched 2 of Xceleste’s storyline updates and one has the new notes from MOTS: 7. Lol I seriously got chills it’s crazy. It makes a lot more sense once you get all the information from The Notes.

The girls aren't real, they are inner personas of the boys. This relates to literature: A person's personality contains various components, one of them in the inner consciousness is "Anima/Animus". That relates to someone's level of masculinity or femininity. Those girls appearance are a process to making them recognise something important hidden in their consciousness, and you can see Jin understanding something through the girl. I wont spoil it for you though, I'm just explaining some parts of the theory to you without giving any answers :)

Like Namjoon had financial problems and so he had to do various jobs and when he saw the girl giving out the flyers it reminded him of himself. For yoongi, that girl reminded him of Jungkook and vice versa for Jungkook. For Jimin, the girl that hobi is dancing with, Jimin wanted to be like that girl. And Taehyung saw himself in that girl because she too was in trouble Jungkook he was

It’s about finding love in other people which is what they’re trying to do with the girls. But darkness will always overcome a love like that and won’t last, hence the second album in the series - Tear. The final album is called Answer and that’s finding love within yourself and in the album is a song called I’m Fine.

Did you know that the color grading in this and the way it's shot is what almost every K-drama(korean drama) looks like. The colors in them are almost always soft and pretty. Very aesthetic imo.

watching this after learning the story hits even harder man... wow. **SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS** maybe? When Jin said how the happiness can easily be all swept just like that.. and the fact that he has been through so much, trying to save everyone, succeeded, and EVERYTHING collapsed right in front of him (well not actually but how he's narrating and how the scenes are being portrayed make me feels like everyone knows what's going on) years after including his own life.. all those attempts after failing so many times, like he DID it and poof its gone again. And the word 'again' for Jin aint so simple. The pain omgggg

Perhaps what makes the "Love Yourself Highlight Reel" so powerful is not just the cinematic aspects but the development of a simple haunting musical theme which crescendos first teasingly then in synchrony with the collapse of the seemingly simple and happy moments each boy had been experiencing. It is an emotional theme which also teases collapse in the pre-rap opening to "Outro:Tear".

Back when this was released beside the references, the dates actually gave me an idea about the storyline, like I was really confused of why the dates keep going back and fourth until the explanation theory of xceleste...made sensed actually.
I got really into this story after reading the book the 'notes 1' or 'the most beautiful moment in life', because they don't jump around in the timeline and they tell details which you can't see in the MVs or in the notes of the album's. The story is so beautifully written even in the English translated version.

I remember the emotional roller coaster this was for me as well. Initially it was released in parts - the compiled version you watched was released last. The waiting and wondering between them was almost painful. I went back and watched everything I could to put the pieces together, and I finally did - but even then I wasn't sure until the webtoon confirmed it and brought other things to light that I hadn't seen before. There really is SO MUCH to dig into, and seeing you go on this journey as someone who truly appreciated it, is very satisfying. Thank you.
