I don't know a lot of other librarians on booktube, so I'm glad I found your channel! I love your library content😊 Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
I'm really not familiar with Hoopla so it's so nice to see all the things this app has to offer! I didn't know you could get so many things on this! Thank you for all the information! ❤❤❤
While there are definitely more limitations in lending through hoopla when compared to Libby, it's such a fun app! I just fell in love with Agatha Raisin thanks to this app 🥰
I'm envious of your 10/month limit, because Hoopla is a wonderful service, but the fact that it costs libraries more means that a lot of major libraries have severely limited the monthly options. The a Houston Public Library used to have 8/month but decreased it to 2 in 2018. The Toronto Public Library decreased last year too, from 8 to 4. I've been told that Calgary is down to 2 as well. Both Toronto and Houston have also removed the ebook collections and only have the video, music and comic catalogues. It's a shame, because I loved the lack of holds on popular book titles (versus Overdrive/Libby and Axis360), but I assume it just hasn't been worth the expense.
Wow those are quite the decreases! I did some research to see if hoopla could be a good option for the small library I manage, but it seems both expensive and hard to manage budgetarily as a result of widely ranging cost per use. It's such a shame, but I definitely can see why libraries are limiting access to this awesome resource. Thank you for commenting and letting me know about this!
The Virginia Beach Public Library used to have 10/month, but it went down 7. but decrease the item limit to two is extreme. The library i go to currently lets me borrow 6/month. I agree that I also enjoy the lack of holds on books on Hoopla, but the hoopla I use does have some books labeled Flex borrows which do have holds on them, but there not usually anything I want to read.
Hi Heather - Thank you for watching and for your comment! While I know you can rate whatever you borrow, I don't think written reviews are built into the platform yet.

Librarians unite! Thank you so much, I'm having such a blast putting them together ❤

This is so helpful. I really hope there will be more libraries in our town. We only have our university libraries. 😅
Glad this is helpful and hope you love the app :) Fingers crossed for more libraries!
