story doesn't make sense. why would cartel work with terrorists? bad for business. brings heat on its operations. and why would Shepherd turned on TF 141 before all 3 missiles were recovered?
I get that these are all prerendered cutscenes, but holy cow are they believable. The really nailed the expressions on people - we're just barely on the other side of the uncanny valley. When Price is briefing the team on killing Graves, and Rodolfo says 'when?' - with a slight nod when Price replies "now.", for example - it genuinely looks like filmed footage.
One thing no one is really pointing out, the change in the names, the color changes. Green, to lighter yellowish green and eventually red as people speak. It's a small thing, but it really speaks volumes to the care that was put into it.
49:30 small detail but when price and Shepard are talking, Shepard’s name on the subtitles is yellow when he’s pretending to be on prices side and turns red when his true agenda comes out and he threatened price showing that he’s the enemy
same thing with Graves around 40:17. reminds me of in mw2 remastered when all enemies have pineapple heads and Shephard gets one the moment he shoots you.
Also (spoilers for the end of the campaign) There’s the fact the Laswell says “We’ve got bigger fish to fry” at the end which is a reference to operation Kingfish. Also the No Russian reference in the post credit scene.
the Graves and Shepherd Names turning red got me so good lmao, I thought the Shadow Company will once be friendly but not that long and they kept it how the OG MW2 was done
COD cutscenes have come a longggg way from the old days . The cinematic scenes are so much more engaging than listening to them talk while the game is loading
Shepherd's betrayal was split into himself, and Graves, and if you look into it, it makes more sense than the original. Old Shepherd was a general, high rank, you'd expect him to sit in his office and never even step out of there, instead he shows up on the field multiple times. I guess they wanted to make him more badass and more deep. In this universe he does exactly what you'd expect, sitting in an office, sending his dogs to clean up the mess. And this is where Graves comes in, he's the hurting part of the betrayal. You can see Soap, Ghost and Graves starting to develop a friendship through their missions, they had a group dinamic. When the dogs were repelled, Shepherd saved his ass by going off the grid.
26:47 The moment Farah was shown, I got so excited! After COD not telling us anything about her, it made me curious AH to see what she’d even do, though now I’ve played this, I see why
I stopped playing CoD after they went all futuristic. But after watching this, I'm tempted to buy the new xbox just to play this game. You can't beat a well told story like this.
Wow great story.. .. respect for those involved with this . From voice actors to the writing staff and military advisors. Props.. now give me an animation movie..
It's cool to see but a minor nit pick would be to have remember, no Russian, there is a reason behind saying that because they framed the undercover cia agent which kicks off ww3, I'm curious if they have cia undercover on the plane like with the airport, only gotta wait 3yrs to find out
General Sheperd's face is a lot different including hair and eyes. I recognize this role. I saw him on Transformers Series. As also a General or maybe an Overlord while he commands his soldiers and Optimus Prime commanding his comrades.
That's Glenn Morshower. He's always played big generals and commanders on TV and the movie screens. He was the Air Force General in Black Hawk Down and provided the voice for Overlord in MW3. Absolute legend.
Yknow, I've been reading that there won't be a MW3 reboot... but after those two last cutscenes there's no way they don't do it. You can't just tease like that and then say there won't be a MW3 reboot. Why finish off the reboot series on MW2 when there's one more MW to reboot.
They’ll definitely make a 3rd one. There are way too many loose ends for this to be the last one(al Assad, makarov, Shepard all need to be taken care of)
One thing i noticed in these cutscenes is how it hints that Shepherd is the one behind the (unintentional) distribution of the missiles before the grand reveal At 5:20 Laswell says she and the team will find out everyone who ever touched the missile. Shepherd does not want that and tells her to have it destroyed 21:03 Soap wants to know who Iran got the missiles from but Shepherd intervenes and does not care who they're from, makes sense since the missiles were from him. He was trying to cover it up Aside from all that, Graves' and Shadow Company's involvement was to keep them from finding out about the truth. Graves and Shepherd tried to tie up loose ends silently but it blew up in their face
My god, Graves is probably one of the slimiest bastards I've seen in a game. I think it's the way he talks that gives me the biggest dirtbag vibes. The particular cadence and announciation he has makes every word that comes out of his mouth sound kinda condescending and i think i love it.
