Great video again. I've made a couple of these now, they come together quite quick. I've been asked to do another but at about three quarters height and as a crossbody with no side snaps. Would it be best to print the pattern again at about 80% or just shorten the body to what I need?

So, funny story: I had put a die that I wanted for my rivet press on my Christmas list last year, but my mother in law somehow managed to buy me a whole new press instead. I've been trying to figure out how I can sell the extra press (could not return it unless I wanted to pay shipping and a restocking fee), but now I'm thinking I should just keep it so I can have a hole cutting press and a rivet pressing press!

Hi. Love watching your videos. I’ve got a Bernina machine (B480) and I’ve only ever used 40wt cotton in it. I notice you are using tex 40, Mara 70 & 100. Do you use this in the bobbin too? What weight thread have you used successfully. Much appreciated xxx

I am being very lazy and don’t want to look through a hundred comments, cuz Jess is so popular 😍, but my question is....I am using all vinyl for the outside of the bag and all waxed canvas for the inside. So, do I need to put the foam in it?

    Thank you ☺️

Omgosh, great tutorial and great Bag! Is there a way to add a top zip to the Bag? Maybe it's not a good idea since the snaps create such a big opening when they are unsnapped?

  • @sallyturner1669

Have you tried clear iron on vinyl? I was wondering if it was worth trying to protect cotton fabrics on bags.

Hi Jess, What weight thread do you use in your bobbin if using topstitching thred on top? I bought some nylon bonded recently but realized I probably need a much finer bobbin thread weight. Thanks for your help. Getting ready to sew this up for one of my grands!

I still struggle with visible seams after turning bags right side out. I’ve tried the extra line of stitching in the Seam allowance, fiddled with tensions, stitch lengths etc. Using glide 40wt. Would a heavier thread be better to keep stitches tighter??
    Thanks for the awesome tuts!

Anyone on here able to offer me any suggestions for finishing my bag? Here’s the deal, I can’t get my machine to get through the back strap that covers the handle. I have a Juki TL2010Q, using 90/14 Schmetz Microtex, Mara 70 thread, 3.5 stitch length, regular foot with tape on it, I’ve tried hand cranking, using a hump jumper, raising the presser foot, re threading the needle. What else can I try?? Bagstock design’s FB site is down for a week and I don’t know where else to ask for help. Anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Is there a trick to keep the rivets from popping off? I used rivets on the handle of the bag and as soon as I have a bit of weight in my bag they just pop off, will a dab of e6000 glue before I set it work? Debating "unbirthing" my bag and stitch it to help reinforce but that's so much work 😅
