@@UsamaBinMasood Bro there is a great saying "In politics there is everyone bad but the person who is less bad visualised to be good individual". I just said him cool because he has such will power to settle down anything as briefly discussed in podcast and I will suggest you to listen last 5 minutes of podcast with full attention to get your answer. Also don't worry about my standard because there's something written in bracket if you see it clearly.

After all has been said, listened and learned, let us admit that we have forgotten our roots. Not even one percent of our youth now remembers what our founding fathers were like. This is a criminal mistake on our part. It is a humble request that sir Tariq should do a series of podcasts on the life and vision of the Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The reading culture has sadly declined in our youth. Maybe a podcast can help revive our almost lost national legacy.

    1. Strengthened democracy by empowering the parliament through clipping the powers of the President.

Back in 1990 just before the ouster of BB, Steel Sheets from PSML were sold at nearly half the rate then the markets offer. From 14000 to just 8000 a ton. Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani used to take the authorized signature of BB to pass the tender. My Family also did a mistake by taking part, and ordering about 27000 tonnes of Steel Sheet from PSML at the very end of People's Party's 1st tenure, BB being the PM.

Several key facts have been left by uncle in his evaluation of President Zardari's life and the controversies surrounding it. He clearly harps on the narrative already established in the media. In the first instance, he never mentioned that Murtaza was in exile and had been fighting against the Pakistan Army during the 1980s up until the death of Zia through the paramilitary militia known as Al Zulfiqar. Al Zulfiqar is responsible for the hijacking of the PIA flight in 1981 and the murder of a Pak Army Lieutenant. Considering the current political climate, one can assess from the fact who actually murdered Murtaza and who actually gained from it both in the short run and long run. Revenge is the prime source or motivation for murder as studies have indicated.
Similarly, the death of Shahnawaz Bhutto and how it happened are not highlighted. Shahnawaz was poisoned in France in 1985, 4 years after the infamous hijacking and the subsequent murder of the Lieutenant. Who killed Shanawaz, Zardari was not even in the picture, it seems like revenge for the constant attacks and the death of a brother-in-arms. Uncle also forget that during the first term, BB had a " power sharing" agreement with the remnants of Zia's regime i.e. GIK and he dissolved the national assembly. BB's first government lasted 16-18 months and it had to undo 10 years of martial law and economic stagnation that followed after the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan and the lack of blood money that was being funnelled through Pakistan to be spent on Afghan Jihad. Uncle also fails to mention that Saeed Mehdi has always been a tout of the central right-wing parties and has been especially close to Nawaz Sharif during the 1980s. The court did not find Zardari of any crime because the case was based on hearsay. the evidence did not exist, the polo ground did not cost 3- 4 million dollars but 52 million rs or 5 crore. Both Nawaz and Mushraf tried but could not get him convicted in a court of law. Uncle also states that Zardari went to the United States for 8 years, that also is factually incorrect, Zardari was released in 2004 and was back in Pakistan on 27th December 2007, which is 3 years out of which he spent a significant amount of time in UAE.
Uncle now considers BB to be one of the greatest leaders of Pakistan but is harping and propagating the same accusations that were made against her i.e. that she was an American agent. The fact that Zardari did not say anything to Obama can be explained by the imbalance of power between the two states Pakistan & The United States, was Mushraf trained by the United States since he did not have anything to say to the Americans when agreeing to be a part of the war on terror?. It is the same power imbalance that made IK stay quiet when he met Trump and he famously claimed that he could have ended the Afghan war with a couple of nukes. Uncle also credits the army for stopping supplies to NATO but blames the civilian government for the attack at Salala. Raymond Davis' issue is no different than allowing drones while having a full-fledged army and then blaming it on the civilian government. Would the army allow drones from Iran or India if any civilian government agreed to it. The presence of Black Water etc should be blamed on those who shall not be named, Zardari's fault is perhaps that he was passive and agreed to whatever he was being told to do at least in regard to international relations.
In short Uncle's analysis lacks depth and just regurgitation of the prevalent discourse about Zardari in the mainstream capitalist media. Uncle fails to mention why and how people such as Zardari rose and remained in power, the need for corruption in a "liberal" democracy, the socialist alternative that was put forward by PPP but was rejected and the resulting political framework being hijacked by neoliberalism and conservatism. The result as seen across liberal democracies in the world is the rise of oligarchies like in Pakistan where money = power. Corruption is the third-world equivalent of lobbying and should be treated as such. Real alternatives and the root cause of issues are seldom discussed as it jeopardizes people like uncle and their control over society in general i.e belonging to the top 10% of the people in the country ( income + wealth)

You're so on point regarding the murder of Bhutto sons and Slalala attacks. Unfortunately our people especially the pendus in Punjab would believe and propagate anything that the establishment has wanted them to believe and are realizing the truth about how things actually work in our country only now when it's happening against them and PTI these days.
