When I first started my Ren journey, I came across these three songs and hesitated at first due to the length. Now I am about 100+ reactions in and will watch even if the reaction is an hour long.
This is downtown Brighton Beach, several of his vids (nearly all) are filmed there. He said he got in trouble while filming this, and had to comeback in the middle of the night to reshoot. The whole Girlfriend is with Patrick theory derives from a sort of grass roots promotional that Ren did just before release, you can find it on his channel now, but the gist is that he pretended to have his phone stolen by some jerk named screech, who then hijacked all of his accounts and released snippets of video, one of which you can infer that his girl doesn't like him all that much, and may have eyes for his friend. It's not treated as canon though, because of some conflicts with the official stuff. One funny bit about it though; After Ren claimed his phone stolen, his fans started reporting all the videos "Screech" put out, so much so that insta threatened to ban the account, despite Ren's assurances, which forced him have to cut short his campaign.
You are the first reaction I've ever heard that actually picked up on the "baby (s)tay alive" line. It's such a nice hidden foreshadow gem in Violet's tale. Nice chill authentic reaction. Love it.
They did have people shouting " shut the fuck up" they have to go back to the start. In Violets tale, Ren said just as he turned into the last ally it began to rain a fine mist, he said it looked amazing, but someone shouted out a window, so they couldn't use it.❤

The knocking on the door with the guitar is smarter than most people realise. He used that section to change the time signature. The intro is in 3/4 time (so you count 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, etc... Pretty much no pop songs are in 3/4. And he used the knocking to change to 4/4, ~(which you count as as 1 2 3 4 , 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4), which is the time signature for basically every single rock, pop, rap song these days. Think of it as a snare drum hitting on every 2 and 4 in the bar. And generally the kick/bass drums on the 1 and 3. The snare drum pretty much always plays on the 2 and 4 of a beat but the kick changes from song to song. Also, the knocking wasn't random. It was in time and it's counted as 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and.
Violet's tale was filmed in his friend's apartment building. The hospital room is actually where the residents store their bikes 😂. This is the same place he filmed Animal Flow

Summery of the whole real story, boy robbed and killed a prostitute, cop shoots boy, cop who spoke to reporters said its such a shame. Ren didn't write it because of the quote he wrote it because it was such a small article and thought it deserved more. But you were close enough.

Appreciate your reaction to this song. This is a VERY SAD tale; But, what I LOVE the MOST about "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" is that in the end it points out that Jenny and Screech were siblings. This gave me insight into Ren's compassion for humanity and the recognition of how wrong violence is. It should not be this way. We are all brothers and sisters. We are divine spiritual beings in mortal bodies. We should treat each other as such. Jenny and Screech grew up in the foster system so that they didn't know they were siblings. But, if we're taught like we should be taught that we are ALL BROTHER and SISTERS! That is the way we should ALL treat each other! This is what I like about this song. Hopefully, one day we will all know this. "Every so often there comes an artist that says things on a certain level that just resonates." Like Oliver Anthony? (I admit that Ren is OA x100 in a good way. OA did six months of suffering compared to at least six years of hellacious suffering for Ren. They both are prophets, in my opinion. But, I started on the OA rabbit hole before Ren. I love them, both.)
IMHO the Tale of Jenny and Screech is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard. Ren has self identified his music as bard core, so that is confirmed. This is an ancient style of music; that goes right back through the wondering minstrel bards of the middle ages. The works of Chaucer sung in the Wife of Bath's ale house. The north African "Bearded Man" a travelled person, wondering from house to house, tent to tent and hearth to hearth; singing songs, telling tales of far off lands, and the national news or the local news from the nearest big city, for a meal and place to sleep. And back to the Dark Ages of Anglo Saxon epic poetry of Beowulf, on through the Greek Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey and the beginning of the Choir. This form of story telling probably goes all the way back to Ugg twanging his Bow to woo the Chiefs Daughter to follow him into the fields of barley or complain about the Chief stealing the meat from his hunt, at the hut of the Widow Ale Wife, where he and others would congregate to let off steam and tell tales of epic hunts; to then draw on the local cave walls, like the graffiti in The Tales. The music acted in part as interlude/intro as well as melodic emphasis and sound effects for the story. And right up to the modern busker, on the street corner or the subway, playing for a few coins and some smiles. I love Ren and Samuel's use of locational reverb in the sound production, something that instantly stood out to me as a sound engineer and producer. They also got lucky with the Seagulls in part of the song which then was deliberately left in and emphasized in the mix. There was also throughout the acting and and staging all done live! All of this indicates the intellectual level of the performance production in this piece of art. And then for a cherry on the top of the cake Ren, Shyamalan-ed us all...
For me it didn't fall into place that she was a lady of the night until I realized she was 14. After that it seemed odd for her walking those streets a thousand times at night, wearing high heeled shoes and wanting to escape.

Flight, fight, or fawn. I like that better than flight, fight, or freeze. Fawn eludes to a much more accurate description of how most of us actually react. Like a baby deer caught in a wolfs den.. Only once have I ever used flight as a defense mechanism. Thank god I did. I truly don't believe I would have survived if I didn't. We as women MUST be on high alert 24/7. We unfortunately can't ever let our guard down. When we do, we're at risk. I was a teenager and young adult in NYC in the late 90's-2000's. The street smarts I gained through experience is priceless, but I paid a high price through the situations I was thrown into. Young teen girls (especially) are harassed and followed every time they step foot out their front door. It happened to me every single day. It's disgusting.

actually in order to promote the Tales (not sure if it was for the 360 degree performance of the Tales or when Jenny came out or Screech, I can't give you the time frame) but Ren does an IG promo and he's shooting a video of himself on his phone walking down the street and then it shows someone stealing his phone from him. then it shows Screech with guess gf and Patrick and other friends, they are partying - it's supposedly during the day which leads into the night that Jenny and Screech's Tales both happen. There's an entire back story that those of us that found Ren thru Hi Ren wouldn't have seen the promos but I've seen them several times now. When I first listened to "Violet's Tale", I figured that 2005 at the start had to be significant. I was already wondering how Violet's tale fit into the overall story. Then I remembered that the first two were released (and probably set) in 2019 and that James (Screech) was 14. It made sense that she was probably Screech's mother. But I didn't make the connection to Jenny until nearly the end of the song, when he said the twins were lying side by side. Ren wrote and produced the first version of "Jenny's Tale" in fall 2012. It was loosely based on a story in the news. That first version was released in 2015 on his "Love Music" album, which is available for preview and purchase on his b-camp channel. A kinda theory is that Stevie isnt actually the dad to Screech and Jenny, but was actually Violet's dad Reason 1: she got the councils help through a well fair scheme and that could be because she was already pregnant at that point in time, before she met Stevie (council dont really do a lot most of the time) Reason 2: Stevie calls her a slut and asks why shes lying to him, which could indicate he knows its not his children Reason 3: her father clearly abused her in more ways than one, so the chances are that he could be the father to them Further point to remember is that Violet was 16, she was 9 months pregnant, and there is a highly likely chance her father had been things to her long before she became 16, so Jenny (allegedly) being a street worker (which could be hinted to from the factor of heels, knows the streets well, rosie on her cheeks was a common thing for street workers to wear) isnt overly far-fetched, and the chances of that further generational trauma of commiting sexual acts to survive at such a young age (even under different circumstances) is also absolutely awful for them
Housing area, during screech. If you look close enough you'll see a man on his balcony watching. Plus I've heard some backstories is a couple times people did yell at me quiet until they found out what was going on. So it is real as you can make it
If you rewind a little, after pausing, you won't miss anything. :) Especially for someone new to a song. It also doesn't break the immersion as much, as it usually takes a few seconds to get properly back into the feel and flow of a piece, after pausing, so a rewind helps with that. :)
In the phrase "Fight, flight, freeze, or fawn," fawn means kiss ass. Befriend. Some include f*ck in fawn, some add it to make a fifth F word. But fawn is different from freeze. One would think there's usually some fawning before the f*cking. :D
I only have one criticism. The Slice Girl on the left needs to find a way to lower her camera to match the Slice Girl on the right. Other than that I'm really enjoying what you both are doing.

Summery of the whole real story, boy robbed and killed a prostitute, cop shoots boy, cop who spoke to reporters said its such a shame. Ren didn't write it because of the quote he wrote it because it was such a small article and thought it deserved more. But you were close enough.

Appreciate your reaction to this song. This is a VERY SAD tale; But, what I LOVE the MOST about "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" is that in the end it points out that Jenny and Screech were siblings. This gave me insight into Ren's compassion for humanity and the recognition of how wrong violence is. It should not be this way. We are all brothers and sisters. We are divine spiritual beings in mortal bodies. We should treat each other as such. Jenny and Screech grew up in the foster system so that they didn't know they were siblings. But, if we're taught like we should be taught that we are ALL BROTHER and SISTERS! That is the way we should ALL treat each other! This is what I like about this song. Hopefully, one day we will all know this. "Every so often there comes an artist that says things on a certain level that just resonates." Like Oliver Anthony? (I admit that Ren is OA x100 in a good way. OA did six months of suffering compared to at least six years of hellacious suffering for Ren. They both are prophets, in my opinion. But, I started on the OA rabbit hole before Ren. I love them, both.)

IMHO the Tale of Jenny and Screech is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard. Ren has self identified his music as bard core, so that is confirmed.
This is an ancient style of music; that goes right back through the wondering minstrel bards of the middle ages. The works of Chaucer sung in the Wife of Bath's ale house. The north African "Bearded Man" a travelled person, wondering from house to house, tent to tent and hearth to hearth; singing songs, telling tales of far off lands, and the national news or the local news from the nearest big city, for a meal and place to sleep. And back to the Dark Ages of Anglo Saxon epic poetry of Beowulf, on through the Greek Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey and the beginning of the Choir.
This form of story telling probably goes all the way back to Ugg twanging his Bow to woo the Chiefs Daughter to follow him into the fields of barley or complain about the Chief stealing the meat from his hunt, at the hut of the Widow Ale Wife, where he and others would congregate to let off steam and tell tales of epic hunts; to then draw on the local cave walls, like the graffiti in The Tales. The music acted in part as interlude/intro as well as melodic emphasis and sound effects for the story.
And right up to the modern busker, on the street corner or the subway, playing for a few coins and some smiles.
I love Ren and Samuel's use of locational reverb in the sound production, something that instantly stood out to me as a sound engineer and producer. They also got lucky with the Seagulls in part of the song which then was deliberately left in and emphasized in the mix.
There was also throughout the acting and and staging all done live! All of this indicates the intellectual level of the performance production in this piece of art.
And then for a cherry on the top of the cake Ren, Shyamalan-ed us all...
For me it didn't fall into place that she was a lady of the night until I realized she was 14. After that it seemed odd for her walking those streets a thousand times at night, wearing high heeled shoes and wanting to escape.

Only once have I ever used flight as a defense mechanism. Thank god I did. I truly don't believe I would have survived if I didn't. We as women MUST be on high alert 24/7. We unfortunately can't ever let our guard down. When we do, we're at risk. I was a teenager and young adult in NYC in the late 90's-2000's. The street smarts I gained through experience is priceless, but I paid a high price through the situations I was thrown into. Young teen girls (especially) are harassed and followed every time they step foot out their front door. It happened to me every single day. It's disgusting.

Uploads on his TH-cam channel showing Patrick and Screech's girlfriend and Screech was horrible. Treated his girlfriend bad and Patrick.
Patrick obviously fancied the girlfriend and visa versa.

Its based on a real story that read in the papers and 2005 is when it happend like hè says in the song
actually in order to promote the Tales (not sure if it was for the 360 degree performance of the Tales or when Jenny came out or Screech, I can't give you the time frame) but Ren does an IG promo and he's shooting a video of himself on his phone walking down the street and then it shows someone stealing his phone from him. then it shows Screech with guess gf and Patrick and other friends, they are partying - it's supposedly during the day which leads into the night that Jenny and Screech's Tales both happen. There's an entire back story that those of us that found Ren thru Hi Ren wouldn't have seen the promos but I've seen them several times now. One of the therapists that does reactions did one to just the promos to get the back story on Screech. you'll have to find the promos. they might be on Ren's channel or maybe Ren Makes Stuff channel or just find the reactor that reacted to them. it was within the last year that I saw that reaction. wish I could remember who the reactor was but I watch so many reactions, sorry! it's definitely out there.

When I first listened to "Violet's Tale", I figured that 2005 at the start had to be significant. I was already wondering how Violet's tale fit into the overall story. Then I remembered that the first two were released (and probably set) in 2019 and that James (Screech) was 14. It made sense that she was probably Screech's mother. But I didn't make the connection to Jenny until nearly the end of the song, when he said the twins were lying side by side.
Ren wrote and produced the first version of "Jenny's Tale" in fall 2012. It was loosely based on a story in the news. That first version was released in 2015 on his "Love Music" album, which is available for preview and purchase on his b-camp channel. A kinda theory is that Stevie isnt actually the dad to Screech and Jenny, but was actually Violet's dad
Reason 1: she got the councils help through a well fair scheme and that could be because she was already pregnant at that point in time, before she met Stevie (council dont really do a lot most of the time)
Reason 2: Stevie calls her a slut and asks why shes lying to him, which could indicate he knows its not his children
Reason 3: her father clearly abused her in more ways than one, so the chances are that he could be the father to them
Further point to remember is that Violet was 16, she was 9 months pregnant, and there is a highly likely chance her father had been things to her long before she became 16, so Jenny (allegedly) being a street worker (which could be hinted to from the factor of heels, knows the streets well, rosie on her cheeks was a common thing for street workers to wear) isnt overly far-fetched, and the chances of that further generational trauma of commiting sexual acts to survive at such a young age (even under different circumstances) is also absolutely awful for them
