I was literally going to say both. React to for Joe and witness another great story which unfortunately is true but his piano playing. How does someone with all the health issues he's had can be this damn talented? I'm definitely a RENegade, absolutely love this artist.
I suggested to Ren in another video, Troubles I think, that he should play piano at the Calgary concert hall, or some place there. He would knock their socks off.
Pause, rewind, and use subtitles all you want. You are one of the few that get it right away and everything you say is GOLD. You're input as a musician is appreciate. All of your thoughts are about the art, arist, music, story, cinematography, etc. I think those rules were created for average reactors. I subbed right after the first video. I never do that. You a real one
@@A-AronReacts Nice reaction. Yes, there are a lot of depth to Ren's lyrics and videos. You can catch more things you missed when you watch it again. Guess where Patrick was when Screech's girlfriend said she "was busy"? Haha. Ren is so clever.
1. welcome fellow renegade 2. the captions in the tales are better than in many other Ren videos - and if they help you, please keep them on 3. love your reactions 4. Pause as much as you like
The captions are often really messed up or can't keep up with Ren, and their messed up interpretations can distract from the actual lyrics. But if you keep that in mind, should be okay.
Best Jenny and Screech reaction ever!! You are the perfect Ren reactor. Your introspection and musical knowledge along with your deep soul make you an ideal analyzer of the greatness of Ren!!!
Great reaction! These tales are sad for so many reasons once you start breaking it down. Jenny and James were twins who were separated at birth and put into the system after their mother Violet died in childbirth after being horribly beaten by their father Stevie. They were born into violence and raised on the streets, because if Screech is 14 that means Jenny is too. So she's a 14 year old girl, "walking the streets" she's walked a thousand times before, late at night in high heeled shoes, hoping to escape. So most people take that to mean that she's a teenage sex worker. Then she gets robbed and murdered by her own twin brother who is then killed right after that. They came into the world through violence on the same night, lying side by side, and they left the world through violence on the same night, lying one street apart. 😢
Jesus, it reads like casework for a social worker. Ren's a clever Git. It's about time this generation had music to appreciate. Bonus, is that we all benefit.
And you didn't even talk about the personality traits of Jenny and Screech. Screech is like his father and Jenny like her mother. Generational en pre-birth trauma 😢
Yes, Renegaditis often shows strong symptoms after first exposure to the virus. There is no known cure so make the best of it while you last. Good luck.
Luckily for us who’ve been exposed, there is so much of Ren’s content for treatment. Between his music videos, live/acoustic versions, The Big Push, busking, collabs, and Trick the Fox… it should help you get through for a while. After that, you might need to move on to reaction videos. 😂
Aaron, your channel, your rules. Pause as much as you want or need. We are here (at least some of us) because we already know and love these songs. But we can never hear them for the first time again. But we can see you react to them or introduce others to them and that is the next best thing. ♥🎶 btw, YOU got so many subs because you do earnest, sincere reactions that are a pleasure to watch. Give yourself a bit of cred there too, fam.
Violet's Tale is probably my favourite Ren track currently, after listening to so many of them. Yes, it's sad but also beautiful - particularly the contrast between the gorgeous fingerpicking guitar and that amazing vocal chromatic scale near the start, to using words like "bastard" and "prick" to describe Violet's dad and Stevie. The use of the corridor and staircase to change the reverb. And then it gets REALLY dark, physical abuse described and acted in vivid detail, ending with Violet's death and the birth of the twins on the operating table. It's a (triple) tragedy worthy of Shakespeare, and despite the overbearing sadness of it, it is truly beautiful. Comedies play their part, but tragedies will always make you feel the story more deeply, and unfortunately this story is/these stories are all too common in real, everyday life. Great reaction, subbed & liked because you felt it.
people need to hear his joy for life. he forces and presses us to face the dark, but it is his joy that is most moving for me. this man is full of joy and life and love.
Love your Heisenberg T-shirt!!!🖤Ren is a self taught musician so you will find he doesn't follow the song structure "rules". Yes everything Ren does is intentional. Great reaction thanks! Cations are fine now that you have done the Tales!! Welcome to the Family❤Cheers from Canada
“That’s too much.” Yeah. That sums it up. Amazing how Ren makes us care about these fictitious characters. I think it’s because deep down we know that there’s a true story out there just like this. Hits hard.
Your reaction was almost exactly like mine. I sat in stunned silence for what felt like an hour and then just repeated no no no. Trying to talk myself out of what I had just heard. As a SA/DV survivor, Violets Tale was particularly brutal to hear. But my god… it’s SO IMPORTANT for people to be confronted with this topic. Made to feel it deeply. That is the magic of Ren. He takes excruciating topics, and either makes it okay to talk about (Hi Ren) or forces us to hear something like The Tales, feel it, think about it and god willing prevent it. I’ve **heard** that the politician or policeman who talked about the real story had said “what a shame” on Tv after it happened. I’ve also heard that “what a shame” is kinda the UK equivalent to USA politicians with their worthless “thoughts and prayers” after a mass shooting while they continue to line their pockets with NRA money. A basic, useless, generic statement given when they know damn well that nothing will be done to stop it from happening again. I’m not sure of the accuracy of the quote but I DEFINITELY hear a dose of sarcasm in the “such a shame” after Jenny’s Tale, in particular. Another heartfelt reaction, Aaron. It’s a rough one for sure. Back on 74/message in a bottle will cheer you up. It’s quite lighthearted. I think you’ll dig it. ☮️♥️
He spoke the words I had heard not so long ago. The experiences I was desperately trying to smother. I began to have flashbacks from this video. Hated it....but it provoked a CHANGE. This has happened to a LOT of people and it's TIME we stopped it! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the video. what I mean is that I was so accustomed to burying any shreds of the past it as PAINFUL to confront it again. Did he really just SAY THAT????? Oh, yes he did. *twitch twitch* 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂 "thoughts and prayers." "such a shame." so neutral and uncaring.
Super reaction, Aron. The "sirens", listen again carefully, they are seagulls! This was filmed in Brighton as a pretence of "London city, far from pretty", right by the sea on the south coast of England. The story telling is off the charts and all done live. For Violet's Tale, one of the takes, Ren said in an interview, just as he delivered the reveal at the end, the heaven's opened and it poured with rain. He added, he'd have loved that take to be the final one but overall, it wasn't as good as the one we see here.
Mate, pause and talk all you want, and never fear that the video would be too long. We WANT to hear your thoughts, my friend. Thank you for the reaction, appreciate the effort you put in for making it, and appreciate the fact you shared your emotions with us. Well done, sir!
Another great reaction. I wanted to make sure I came back to this upload and like. You need a feel-good palate cleanse from Ren... Might I suggest watching his old band The Big Push medley of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It'll be the one where Romain (guitarist) is kneeling in a crowd of people in the thumbnail It really showcases his guitar and vocal talent and isn't heart wrenching.
Don’t change what you do for a few people who are complaining. If it helps you to use the captions please do so. I swear not all Ren fans are like that! Personally I love your reactions - genuine, emotional and you have an expertise as a musician that I want to listen to. Just keep being you ❤
See what I mean Aaron? This guy is something very very special. God I hope he gets well again. This is Brighton uk btw..if I can grab your ear Aaron, try looking at his band The Big Push “I Shot The Sherrif, Road To Zion and Hip Hop (?)..all on one video..you’ll open a new page on RENs abilities..you think he’s a rapper right? Well he is, but…🤭 Back to the story line here..this shit is happening in every city, town and village..behind so many doors…we really are a fucked up species! I find solace in art. Escapism. Aaron, you really are a switched on fella..you nailed this..got pretty much everything that needed to be noticed..One thing you missed was Ren fast forwarding in time after Violet had been beaten up..Ren reversed the cords from the rewind in time at the beginning of Violets Tale..
Keep in mind that in the UK, most police officers aren't armed. The armed units, like Richard belongs to, are on call for when they're needed. So as he's standing there looking at that knife wielding young guy, he KNOWS that one street away there's a girl that's been stabbed to death. Danger indeed.
Yup an officer would not be walking around with a gun unless something serious like a murder had gone down in the area - (except the odd big event with VIPS) so he was most likely called out due to Jenny.
They also don't patrol the streets. They only get called out to serious armed incidents, or life-threatening incidents beyond the control of normal police. In real-life this would never occur. It's artistic licence by Ren. It works great artistically. It raises the drama and tension perfectly, in a way that a simple arrest, tazering or pepper spraying just wouldn't have done. :)
@Codex7777 there is nothing in the song to say that Richard isn't just part of an armed response unit responding to the stabbing, which is perfectly feasible. It doesn't say he was on patrol, like a beat bobby, but he could quite easily have been out driving in an armed response vehicle.
@@BaronSpamedi better yet, the song *implies* he might be part of a response team: "Sirens sound approaching like a banshee in the night... ... He turned to face the blue lights"
Been waiting eagerly every day to see your next reaction. The subtitles, again, it's about you, _for_ you, out of concern for your experience but if it works for you then you do you - that's the whole point. Remember now that you know they were *twins* - it puts into perspective why Jenny was walking those streets at night alone at 14 (and has already 'a thousand times before'), wearing heels and makeup ('rosy cheeks')... My personal favourite simile is "stacking jars like pickled bricks" ... I mean _pickled bricks_ ? The imagery of his writing is *phenomenal*
Silence is a very common trait for those of us suffering C-PTSD (diagnosis for adults who suffered violent repeated abuse within the family dynamic.) Stems from the act of disasociation that some do to mentally escape the situation. To emotionally be safe.
As my mom told me "Never, EVER say anything; he will just get more angry. Just obey. Just be silent. AGREE with him. Keep your head low. ALL MEN ARE LIKE THIS......" No. Thanks, Mom, but it as all YOU knew. I believed her into my second husband. I MUST have done something wrong to MAKE him beat me and have sex with anyone else he liked. I was supposed to be ashamed at my shortcomings that CAUSED him to do everything he did. After all; it's the wife's fault....??????? I haven't believed that for a very very long time. Lucky I know my own worth. (diagnosed with PTSD) The PTSD started long before I left home.
The empathetic response to the villain is just one example of Ren's ability to hit you in the feels. Another great reaction; you gained yourself a sub. 💛🤘🤙✌️
There's a version of this where Ren plays it live with a small audience in an alley in Brighton. He talks about what he was thinking when he wrote it. It's filmed with a 3d virtual camera.
Loved it! You got my sub! You need to go to something lighter next. As a jazz guy, you'll appreciate "Back On 74/Message In A Bottle", a mash-up that took 2 weeks from concept to recording
Or The Big Push, Wade in the water/trouble so hard/nina simone mashup where Ren plays bass, improvises w/a guitarist doing a solo, scats a bit, then turns it over to another band member to bring it all home singing a few bars of Nina Simone's Feelin Good. Priceless!
@@A-AronReacts I don't know how it shows on your side but from a subs point of view yesterday you channel had 11,4 k subscribers and now it's at 11,5k. Knowing TH-cam I'm not surprised there's a difference there ^^
re: the subtitle thing, i feel like its mostly specific to hi ren and the tales that people really don't like them, and it's for specific reasons, the subtitles in hi ren are just plain bad in certain points and have totally mislead some reactors, and with the tales, i think it's that subtitles have spoiled the end reveal for a few reactors. some renegades are a bit overzealous, sorry about that. a lot of people will probably think you should do chalk outlines (live) next, and that's a good choice, but its another sad song, and i like to advocate for something happy or joyous to lift spirits after the trauma dumps you've done. i think love music parts 1-4 (seperately, or all together, or 1+2 then later 3&4, it's not nearly as important to them at once, but doing them in order at least fairly close to each other temporally allows you to see ren's growth as an artist. or you could do something weird and funny like his fun cheeky bop Uninvited, or you could check out some big push (the red suspenders show is amazing, it's got great bob marley and sabbath covers as well as an amazing RENdition of Watch Out, a great Big Push Original)
I agree with the subtitle issue. Hi Ren has horrible subtitles, and the subtitles for this trilogy could definitely ruin the ending. Otherwise, I believe subtitles will be just fine.
49:26 the "it's such a shame" he said in an interview it was sung so deliberately because of how society responds to hirrific tragedy with "it's such a shame" then forget it and continue with their lives
OMG… instant subscriber. Renegades will flock here. AMAZING analysis and emotion. I don’t even know what to say…I’ve watched over 50 reactions, you “got” more than anyone and made me cry like I was watching it for the first time. Best reaction ever. You’re amazing. Thank you for supporting our boi.
I freaking LOVE your in-depth thoughts, analysis and reactions already after two videos. You take the time to soak in every detail instead of just walzing through. I guess a lot of people apprecciate that. Also the response with your professional POV as a musician is great. Pause all you want, rewind, etc. - it's perfectly fine. Thank you!
Ren usually puts the lyrics in a comment posted to the video if you need clarification. James and Jenny => generic names for orphans in uk Violet => generic name for DV victims Jenny, 14, high heels, walked that street 1000 times late at night...
Also, something else I’ve come to learn after watching his videos, it’s almost like musical theatre. I remember thinking that the first time I was introduced to ‘Hi Ren’, a song that really spoke to me at the time when I was going through chronic illness as well. It was almost too relatable and hit so hard that it took me a bit to listen again and go through his catalogue.
Because he has a TON of influence from other artists, most of his music has a sense of familiarity while being something new. He brings the old school that we miss, blends it with the new school that we like and adds his own flaire that seamlessly merges it. It's incredible, it's fantastic and it's quite addic
Another Renegade here to help the algo and to let you know you instantly became one of my favorite Ren reactors with Hi Ren. This one bumped you up even further. Thank you for joining us!
The reason for the guitar sound is possibly the haunting sound an amplified nylon string guitar can make, to emphasize the tragedy of the stories. Plus the different styles and effects he uses it for make it not only an audio treat, but they paint visual pictures in your mind. It's like listening to a movie with your eyes closed, but seeing everything playing out in your mind. He's a bloody genius!
Thank you so much for such a wonderfully emotional reaction. You are in for SUCH a treat!! Ren is a multi talented artist, you're going to be blown away. His ability to connect with his audience and evoke the whole gamut of emotions, is something I haven't personally come across (not to his extent anyway) before. In addition to that he isn't just an amazing singer/songwriter, but also brilliant musician (guitar, piano, cello, all self taught), producer, director, actor and comedian (as well as terribly sad and thought provoking songs, he also has many really fun, witty bangers). Looking forward to going on the journey with you. Love and respect from England
Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. Also like you yourself did when editing, I did laugh a little at the “what more can there be?!” after Jenny’s Tale 😅 With Ren there is always more surprises and he will keep blowing your mind. It’s about the only thing you can know for sure with any Ren song you check out 😂
Hey Aaron. Congrats you're definitely bringing some interesting opinion to Ren's work. It isn't important but the sound you think is sirens is actually seagulls. The vid is filmed in my home town which is a busy seaside tourist destination and there are a lot of herring gulls which are really noisy and aggressive here. They've brought the sound up to fill the silence but that is a noise you hear all the time in Brighton, even at night. Keep on going mate, you're on a great journey with Ren, I envey you hearing his work for the first time.
Hey Man, Major here again. It's just one guys opinion, but if you want subtitles on, it's your channel bro! Run it like you want to. We as viewers need OUR reactors comfy for us to get the good stuff! Do YOUR thing my guy 😊
From Ren's song "Heretic": I'm that kid The one that life's subtracted Isolated, fractured Shakespeare reenacted, adapted For music, it's too sick I'm shining like **Kubrick** My method is clockwork A full metal dude with My eyes on the prize Do you obey, do you abide?
Remaining silent under attack is a common response to childhood abuse. Abused kids learn that no matter what they say, the result will be more violence. Abused boys often develop a mask of hyper-violence. Another reactor suggested this. I checked it with a friend who is a therapist working with abused children and she confirmed it. I really liked your reaction. You had some interesting speculations and remained focused and genuine. Looking forward to more Ren reactions from you. Subbed.
First of all: great reaction, you can definitely count yourself a Renegade 😊. Now, since you asked and brought it up multiple times, yes the subtitles absolutely affected your "Hi Ren" experience, just as it does with everyone else that has them on. I've seen literally hundreds and hundreds of Hi Ren reactions, and the effect is always the same. Your reaction is particularly interesting because you start with them off, giving us a baseline "control", so we actually get to see the non-subtle difference in the reaction before and after. I know you feel that you don't pay attention to the subtitles, but its a subconscious action that specifically in the case of "Hi Ren" is an escape mechanism. Psychologically, Hi Ren is intentionally filled with tension and anxiety-inducing mechanisms (the guitar playing, intensity of the lyrics, flashing lights, etc), and what happens is the mind immediately starts to look for ways to take in more information to understand the scenario, and is drawn to the subtitles because they're constantly changing on the screen and contain some leading information. So now your brain is trying to resolve lyrics you've seen ahead of when they've happened in the song, so you don't process the current lyrics while the rest of the line is sung. Additionally, the non-vocal cues (facial expressions, veins popping out, body language, etc) are missed because (and this is true) our eyesight is only in focus at approximately the size of your thumbnail at arms length. So back to how it affected your specific reaction: there are 2 very obvious changes: 1) you can see as you scan the subtitles, and its not once or twice, its CONSTANT after they're turned on, with glances up to see the performance, and 2) just like others with subtitles on, your facial expression takes on a more slack appearance, and is slow to react to the narrative. Go back and watch, you'll see what I mean. Let me finish with this: the requests to do or don't use subtitles are only really requested for Hi Ren and The Tales, and those requests come from a place of not wanting to have your personal experience affected adversely by the things I mentioned above. Ren's performances do contain subtle cues that we as humans pick up on that aren't down there in the subtitles. Do whatever you feel, its your channel, just know if it's explicitly requested, it comes from a good place and experience. Respectfully.
Thank you. But I actually did go back and watch before commenting about it on the 2nd one and it didn't affect me. The back and forth you are seeing is me writing notes and watching and switching to the bigger monitor. As time evolves there is more to take in, more to understand, more to write, more to react to. I do appreciate your feedback though
I want to double-down on the fact that you don’t need to address the haters. Just listen, learn, and move on. People who are actually interested in your take, don’t care about all that stuff. Thank you for an excellent reaction to now one of my favorites by Ren ❤
Aaron, thank you for standing up to the demands to turn off subtitles. A lot of rens fans also have disabilities and the subtitles can help with accessing the music and your commentary!
Actually I never use to have them on but sooooo many folks on other reactions yelled at me enough to turn them on, it seems like they should be period for a reaction, ESPECIALLY because not everyone speaks that language well!
Great reaction! A short list of things that people often miss (spoilers ahead): -=-=- "London City, Not-So-Pretty, 2-0-0-5" - Violet's tale ends with her death and the twins' birth in 2005 - the videos were originally released in 2019 (Jenny and Screech were 14) Violet was living in a "council flat" (public housing) paid for by a "welfare scheme" at 16 after leaving her parents' house - this typically doesn't happen unless.. well.. Violet was already pregnant when she left, and that wasn't just physical abuse her father was doing.. which leads us to... Stevie calling her a liar because he didn't believe her about how she got pregnant and thought she was cheating on him. Violet's mother chooses silence, her father chooses violence. Violet chooses silence, Stevie chooses violence. Jenny chooses silence, Screech chooses violence. Check the lyrics of Jenny's Tale again - Jenny knew the streets, she had walked the "floor" about a thousand times before: Jenny was a prostitute .aka. street walker. The reason that Patrick wasn't answering the door at #54 was the same reason that Screech's girlfriend was busy and wouldn't let him come around - Patrick was there. They were having an affair behind Screech's back and were "busy". -=-=- The trilogy is a brilliantly woven story about intergenerational cycles of violence and abuse. The inspiration for this all started with Jenny's Tale, when Ren saw a news report about a murdered prostitute in an area of London.
First I have to compliment you on an outstanding reaction! You caught a lot of subtleties that most reactors don't. In fact, in Jenny's Tale at the end when he says "and the statue she was turned to butter in a breath" many ask if she died, and then he says "she's found somewhere to sleep" and "I guess that she escaped" and they assume she didn't die. You, however, were paying attention and got the inference from the similes. With regard to subtitles, you do whatever makes it easier for you. You will find that there are many songs (especially the rap ones) where they just can't keep up with him and are useless. Totally up to you what you want to do. It's your channel and if there are a few people who don't like it, oh well. Same for pausing. Renegades are quite use to lots of pausing and rewinding and have no problem with it. I personally want to hear what you have to say as you do an excellent job of it. We're accustomed to long videos, too, because Ren gets quite deep sometimes and it takes some noodling to break stuff down. I'm really looking forward to more of your Ren reactions. I'd take some suggestions before my comment and do something a bit lighter next. After that, though, I'd suggest you do Sick Boi because it may be taken down soon (there's a whole kerfuffle around that song) and a different version will get uploaded. I'd really hate it if you didn't get the chance to see the original version.
Yet another Renegade here, joining your little family! Absolutely one of a kind,a great communicator, fantastic with the written and spoken word! Anyway enough about me 😊 Love your energy when listening to and indeed watching Ren.welcome to his Rabbit hole ❤
if I may ask: why do you watch reactions, if you're not interested in what people have to say? just the shocked faces as they are listening? this one's a head scratcher for me.
Great review, best I've seen of this track. I think maybe now you need to see a bit of fun Ren. Check out The Big Push, the band Ren is in, there is a busking concert split into separate videos inc I shot the sheriff/road to zion/hip hop, War Pigs, Paint it black, watch out, you must make sure Ren is wearing the red suspenders. These will all put a smile back on your face!
It's so powerful. It broke a lot of us. A true modern-day tragedy born out of the failure our society perpetuates with generational violence and the system that fails victims of abuse, domestic violence, and those children caught in the middle or left behind. To me, Screech was out of his head and had years of rage built up (who knows what he has been through, ending up alone on the streets obviously before his present young age of 14) When Jenny did not react or move, he took it as ignoring him, not acknowledging the little power he has found being a thug in a helpless life, so he strikes out in uncontrollable rage. Then, he literally devolves in fear and shame as he finds no help. Tragic. They could have died when their mom did, the day they were born together, so it is super poignantly sad they both died the same day due to all the tragedy in their histories. Ren was struck by the original news report where a 14 year old kid killed a lady, then was killed the next day, I believe. The reaction of the poluce & press was just to say, "Its such a shame." To me, it is the same pathetic thing we all do when we hear of a story like this; no one rushes to deal with the things we are failing at, which causes such instances. Time & again.
My dude goes from chamber music to spanish classical guitar to waltz to rock in the guitar playing in screeches tale. Its brain melting in the best possible way.
It’s so sad but he is the best storyteller/lyricist! All of his music is special like that. He has an ability to grab you in a way you don’t see coming. He’s a modern-day Shakespeare. There is no one out now like him. I’m honored to be living during his journey. 😊
Us Renegade’s will always support reactors when we find a new Hi Ren reaction. Welcome to the Renegade family. Jenny is quiet like her mom, Violet and Screech is violent like his dad, Stevie. 😢 I have to add that you are the first reactor to comment on the ‘WHYYYYY’ 😎
Real, sincere and informative. Your personality is a joy to watch. Self taught vocalist and self taught guitar player. Musical genius with an honest soul. REN.
As Ren would say "a high tide raises all ships" RENegades are loyal and love seeing people fall in love with his artistry. This trilogy of tales are my favourite art installations ever. These perfectly orchestrated one shot live performances push the limits of displaying perfectly imperfect art. This should be used to teach musicians, poets, actors, thespians and filmmaker's that so much can be done with the minimal (less is more) if you invest as much time, effort and thought into art. These tales also show the effects of inter-generational behavioural cycles. Jenny and Violet share genetic behavioural traits as do James (Screech) and Stevie. These are genetically past down and not taught behaviours. Also (easter egg) the brilliance of using the time stamp 2005 and Jenny and Screech being 14 years old with its release in 2019 again this shows that everything is so well thought out and implemented. Wellcome to the Ren🐇🕳️, it is a life changing experience.
Great reaction. You definitely have earned the right to switch gears and listen to Ren's lighter side. My suggestions: "Back on '74/Message in a bottle retake " or "what you want "
To the best of my knowledge, the "it's such a shame" line comes from newspaper article (about the death of a young teenager) quoting a police officer being interviewed about the case. I have read this acted an inspiration for Ren writing the trilogy.
18:50 I laughed maniacally 😂 bua-hahaha! So much more buddy! Had Ren been born in the era of all the great bards, he'd be in our textbooks right now. He will be in future books that's for sure! I'm super excited to watch your journey down this rabbit hole. You will be surprised every single time. 💜
YOU are my favorite Ren reactor. I love your insight, musicality & emotion. I also find it so intriguing how Ren mixes so many genres and era's of music in his art. There's just NO ONE like him. ♥️ & Prayer's for Ren.
He is amazing!!! Self taught on strings and piano! Money game 3 shows his piano skills. Ren has over 200 uploads. None of us have time, we make time!! Subbing and liking.
Great reaction! It's so powerful how Ren can bring this stuff, hope the pizza helped I cried the first time too, especially violet being pregnant and breaking silence is a very powerful moment imo Jenny was only 14 and silent like her mother, and that enrages people that only know violence, both traits are not inherited. It's learnt at a young age through a bad environment and it's called intergenerational trauma or something like that. Her walking those streets a thousand times before and being in high heels probably means she ran away from her foster home and got into the street business around 11-12 years old. A thing Ren mentioned in an interview is that Screech's best friend and his girlfriend we're having an affair behind his back, that's why they were both unavailable that moment
I’ve enjoyed the 2 reactions you have done. Pause, talk as much as you want. Us Renegades have seen this many times. We want to see YOUR reaction to Ren ❤
Welcome fellow Renegade! You know what you like! You have become one of my favorite reactors and I have been following Ren for a year! You picked up on a ton of information 😊 Some have speculated that Violet was impregnated by her father and that's why she qualified for the "welfare scheme". Stevie called her a liar and a slut because she was pregnant. So much and I'm sure the other Renegades will fill in. Try some light stuff from Ren like The Hunger and Losin' It. Since u like story telling you will have to explore Money Game parts 1,2 and 3. So happy u have fallen down the rabbit hole! ❤
I have my captions on watching your reaction! For whatever reason, captions help settle my brain and I use them for movies, tv shows, videos etc.😆 The best reactors are the ones who are themselves, so no worries about pausing, long videos, captions etc. For everyone who doesn’t dig your style, there are others who will. This was a great reaction, thank you! ❤
Great insightful reaction. Don’t worry about pauses or captions-they’re OK. I suggest Ren’s video “Back On 74/Message In A Bottle” as a change of pace. “Power” and “Troubles” can wait. See you next time.
...and you haven't seen Ren on the piano yet.
'For Joe' would be a good one to check out.
Nor on electric guitar or bass... Nor properly singing or rapping... etc etc. :)
I was literally going to say both. React to for Joe and witness another great story which unfortunately is true but his piano playing. How does someone with all the health issues he's had can be this damn talented? I'm definitely a RENegade, absolutely love this artist.
Don’t forget ‘Mackay’ for purely piano. No lyrics. Just a beautiful composition and video
Wow, I'm super grateful not only for this comment but that you and others are appreciating it. I appreciate YOU!
@@A-AronReactshehe I just knew the Renegades would love you Aaron! Hand glove.
@@A-AronReacts Nice reaction. Yes, there are a lot of depth to Ren's lyrics and videos. You can catch more things you missed when you watch it again. Guess where Patrick was when Screech's girlfriend said she "was busy"? Haha. Ren is so clever.
@@longkesh1971 Patrick was keeping both busy 🤣
Yes I agree, this is your reaction so react how you wish. I'll be here antway
1. welcome fellow renegade
2. the captions in the tales are better than in many other Ren videos - and if they help you, please keep them on
3. love your reactions
4. Pause as much as you like
But they play spoilers in J&S. You can read them before he sings them and that's no fun. It's ok on other songs.
No need to write the same, haha, totally agree.
Ren usually pins lyrics of his videos for us who need
The captions are often really messed up or can't keep up with Ren, and their messed up interpretations can distract from the actual lyrics. But if you keep that in mind, should be okay.
I agree as well. Thanks for laying it out.
Best Jenny and Screech reaction ever!! You are the perfect Ren reactor. Your introspection and musical knowledge along with your deep soul make you an ideal analyzer of the greatness of Ren!!!
Wow thanks so much!!!
Very well explained foof76 🥰
Jesus, it reads like casework for a social worker. Ren's a clever Git. It's about time this generation had music to appreciate. Bonus, is that we all benefit.
Great & simple break down 👏👏👏
And you didn't even talk about the personality traits of Jenny and Screech. Screech is like his father and Jenny like her mother. Generational en pre-birth trauma 😢
Yes, Renegaditis often shows strong symptoms after first exposure to the virus. There is no known cure so make the best of it while you last. Good luck.
There is no cure, but there is a treatment. More Ren.
😂
Luckily for us who’ve been exposed, there is so much of Ren’s content for treatment. Between his music videos, live/acoustic versions, The Big Push, busking, collabs, and Trick the Fox… it should help you get through for a while. After that, you might need to move on to reaction videos. 😂
What's the infection rate? 99.99999999% upon exposure of 5+ seconds? The other .000000001% heard it as they were on their deathbed?
😂😂😂
Aaron, your channel, your rules. Pause as much as you want or need. We are here (at least some of us) because we already know and love these songs. But we can never hear them for the first time again. But we can see you react to them or introduce others to them and that is the next best thing. ♥🎶 btw, YOU got so many subs because you do earnest, sincere reactions that are a pleasure to watch. Give yourself a bit of cred there too, fam.
THIS!!! ❤❤❤
I’m thrilled for you receiving love from renegades! It sounds like you’re definitely one of us. Would love to see you react to Chalk Outlines!
And "How To Be Me!" You'll love those!
Yes! Although maybe he should do something upbeat first? I'm starting to feel bad for him! 😏. Maybe Genesis or Blind Eyed or What You Want...
@@vgwhittle the bittersweet symphony sample he did too would be different! It’s one of my favorite.
@@vgwhittle I was thinking that too lol. Maybe a couple of the love music's or bongo bong 🤗
🙌 yes
"What more can there be?" Oh love, you've no idea. 🥰
Brilliant reactions. New sub earned.
The reason we love Ren, Musical skills writing skills Acting skills
Back on 74. It’s just as good but much happier.
his joy is seen as he sings
people need to hear his joy for life. he forces and presses us to face the dark, but it is his joy that is most moving for me. this man is full of joy and life and love.
These were all done live in one shot. I love your breakdowns from a musical perspective!
Ren actually appears to be following an ancient set of rules: Aristotle on tragedy.
@@dlbwoodbury LOL
You were an instant renegade the moment you reacted to Hi Ren. Thanks for such honest views and insights
“That’s too much.”
Yeah.
And his 1 Million Sub thank you video is great to learn more about REN as a person not just an artist.
Yeah I think he has the empathy to appreciate the 1 million subs video.
Red suspenders
@@cinshad8- Critical that he listens to the right ones first I agree!😂 They're all good of course, but we Renegades are specific definitely!😊✌
Surface scratched…I will enjoy watching you go deeper because there are sooooo many layers to REN
Don’t change what you do for a few people who are complaining. If it helps you to use the captions please do so. I swear not all Ren fans are like that! Personally I love your reactions - genuine, emotional and you have an expertise as a musician that I want to listen to. Just keep being you ❤
Amazing, perceptive and heartfelt breakdown. Welcome to the RENegades and the RENeverse❤
@@BaronSpamedi better yet, the song *implies* he might be part of a response team:
"Sirens sound approaching like a banshee in the night...
Thank you!
Best reaction to The Tales and I’ve seen LOTS. So fun to watch your reactions and listen to your educated input and thoughtful comments. ❤
"It's such a shame.." That is what we all say when we hear these stories, then we get on with our days. Tragedy surrounds us and we are numb.
shit, there are still new contenders out there looking to get the spot as #1 Ren reactor...
Great reaction! 🤩
The reason all the Renagades swarmed your channel is because we love to see the shock on your face when it all clicks and you get it.
At the end of screech I’m thinking you are not ready for violet
Was anyone at that point of watching?
Priceless!
I second back on 74, I think you'll really appreciate the Jazz element

I was thinking The Hunger- with lyrics on :) it is packed with UK and music references
Juste realized you got from 900 subs to 11,4k in 3 days ^^ Congratz on that too

No what I meant is you said 900 instead of 9000 but all good...I appreciate you
re: the subtitle thing, i feel like its mostly specific to hi ren and the tales that people really don't like them, and it's for specific reasons, the subtitles in hi ren are just plain bad in certain points and have totally mislead some reactors, and with the tales, i think it's that subtitles have spoiled the end reveal for a few reactors. some renegades are a bit overzealous, sorry about that. a lot of people will probably think you should do chalk outlines (live) next, and that's a good choice, but its another sad song, and i like to advocate for something happy or joyous to lift spirits after the trauma dumps you've done. i think love music parts 1-4 (seperately, or all together, or 1+2 then later 3&4, it's not nearly as important to them at once, but doing them in order at least fairly close to each other temporally allows you to see ren's growth as an artist. or you could do something weird and funny like his fun cheeky bop Uninvited, or you could check out some big push (the red suspenders show is amazing, it's got great bob marley and sabbath covers as well as an amazing RENdition of Watch Out, a great Big Push Original)
I agree with the subtitle issue. Hi Ren has horrible subtitles, and the subtitles for this trilogy could definitely ruin the ending. Otherwise, I believe subtitles will be just fine.
Agree! The subtitles don’t match. They can’t keep up. The lyrics allow you to see before you HEAR. Enjoying your reactions!🌸🌸🌸

Welcome to the beautiful world of Ren
Fellow Renegade!!! Fantastic analysis! Absolutely love you as a reactor! Keep your subtitles, keep crushing it, and keep the Ren coming!
Thanks so much! I just published Money Game Part 1
James and Jenny => generic names for orphans in uk
Violet => generic name for DV victims

My fave thing watching Tales reactions is to see how long the reactor doesn't speak after the end is done. 🤗
Welcome. It is not a comfortable journey. But it will change everything.
That's a great way to put it. The bonfire lights the way to the future.....
Already one of my favourite Ren reactors. Can't wait to share your journey. Thank you for such an honest and insightful conversation.
I cant watch anything without the subtitles on. I have them on now in fact.
The Brighton Ghetto! 😂
To be fair, there ARE parts of the town where avocado comes barely mashed on the sourdough toast...
Love and respect from England
i JUST found you and i love you already
From Ren's song "Heretic":
I'm that kid
The one that life's subtracted
Isolated, fractured
Shakespeare reenacted, adapted
For music, it's too sick
I'm shining like **Kubrick**
My method is clockwork
A full metal dude with
My eyes on the prize
Do you obey, do you abide?
Remaining silent under attack is a common response to childhood abuse. Abused kids learn that no matter what they say, the result will be more violence. Abused boys often develop a mask of hyper-violence. Another reactor suggested this. I checked it with a friend who is a therapist working with abused children and she confirmed it. I really liked your reaction. You had some interesting speculations and remained focused and genuine. Looking forward to more Ren reactions from you. Subbed.
Best wishes to Ren. Really hope he gets well. He's a good guy who deserves some peace and joy, like us all ❤️
Beautiful reaction...... well done
I appreciate you as you are the first reactor I have seen that recognized the violence against women in this song. It is hauntingly beautiful x
A short list of things that people often miss (spoilers ahead):
-=-=-
"London City, Not-So-Pretty, 2-0-0-5" - Violet's tale ends with her death and the twins' birth in 2005 - the videos were originally released in 2019 (Jenny and Screech were 14)
Violet was living in a "council flat" (public housing) paid for by a "welfare scheme" at 16 after leaving her parents' house - this typically doesn't happen unless..
-=-=-
The trilogy is a brilliantly woven story about intergenerational cycles of violence and abuse.
Very well said. But I wouldn’t wait with Sick Boi! You never know what’s gonna happen.
Yet another Renegade here, joining your little family! Absolutely one of a kind,a great communicator, fantastic with the written and spoken word! Anyway enough about me 😊 Love your energy when listening to and indeed watching Ren.welcome to his Rabbit hole ❤
He’s a true minstrel. This is one of my favorites of his Bardcore genre.
Love sharing the journey with someone who get it right away. From the first opening guitar piece of the hi ren I was hooked.
Usually I skip the talking, but I really enjoyed listening to you! Really great reaction! All the best.
if I may ask: why do you watch reactions, if you're not interested in what people have to say? just the shocked faces as they are listening? this one's a head scratcher for me.
Great review, best I've seen of this track. I think maybe now you need to see a bit of fun Ren. Check out The Big Push, the band Ren is in, there is a busking concert split into separate videos inc
I shot the sheriff/road to zion/hip hop, War Pigs, Paint it black, watch out, you must make sure Ren is wearing the red suspenders. These will all put a smile back on your face!
It's so powerful.
It broke a lot of us.
A true modern-day tragedy born out of the failure our society perpetuates with generational violence and the system that fails victims of abuse, domestic violence, and those children caught in the middle or left behind.
To me, Screech was out of his head and had years of rage built up (who knows what he has been through, ending up alone on the streets obviously before his present young age of 14)
When Jenny did not react or move, he took it as ignoring him, not acknowledging the little power he has found being a thug in a helpless life, so he strikes out in uncontrollable rage.
The reaction of the poluce & press was just to say, "Its such a shame."
To me, it is the same pathetic thing we all do when we hear of a story like this; no one rushes to deal with the things we are failing at, which causes such instances. Time & again.
My dude goes from chamber music to spanish classical guitar to waltz to rock in the guitar playing in screeches tale. Its brain melting in the best possible way.
I’m glad you have discovered Ren. Love your reactions. Peace.
I love how unapologetic the lyrics are. Great reaction man!! Well done! I don’t think you missed a thing.
Welcome fellow renegade. Thank you for your in depth and vulnerable reaction.
😢
I have to add that you are the first reactor to comment on the ‘WHYYYYY’ 😎
Straight from your Hi Ren reaction. You don't disappoint! ❤ Deep deep insights, brilliant analysis
Thanks so much! I JUST posted a new reaction 😁
You're the first reactor who's response to the ending gave me goosebumps again ❤
He is amazing!!! Self taught on strings and piano! Money game 3 shows his piano skills. Ren has over 200 uploads. None of us have time, we make time!! Subbing and liking.
Great reaction! It's so powerful how Ren can bring this stuff, hope the pizza helped
I cried the first time too, especially violet being pregnant and breaking silence is a very powerful moment imo
Jenny was only 14 and silent like her mother, and that enrages people that only know violence, both traits are not inherited.
The song about a horrific cycle of violence is the best way I can summarize this song.
You picked up on a ton of information 😊
Some have speculated that Violet was impregnated by her father and that's why she qualified for the "welfare scheme".
"This is a Ren of a kind", love that. Really, really good reaction. Subbed!
Great reaction brother. You truly have a keen eye for all of REN’s art!
