This is an amazing adaptation of Frank Millers Batman along with The Dark Knight Returns. I think Matt Reeves has used this as inspiration for his Batman film along with Hush and The Long Halloween.

I think it's more ironic that Bryan Cranston voices a cop here and plays a criminal drug lord in Breaking Bad

His wife Morena Baccarin was the voice of Black Canary in Justice League: Unlimited and Talia al Ghul in Batman: Bad Blood and Son of Batman.

I don't believe nobody has thought about casting Bryan Cranston as Gordon. He must have rejected the role.
I really hope we get a live action Batman TV series(that is not a prequel) to see Bryan Cranston to play Jim Gordon (or a TV 14 animated series)
It's a damn shame that Alex Rocco died, in my opinion he was the only one who could capture the character of Falcone so perfectly.
Great movie and to me, a fine example of how a team of artists can transpose a great story from comics to the screens. My favorite superhero origin animated flick right here, Batman: Year One.
Just finished watching it. As a long time fan of Batman, this was the best film I've seen!

Bryan Cranston is such an awesome actor having him voice Jim Gordon in the movie is perfect, and it's ironic that even though Ben McKenzie did well voicing Bruce Wayne/Batman later he would be portraying Jim Gordon in the show Gotham.
Roger Craig Smith would've killed it as Bruce in this

I would like McKenzie to voice a younger Batman again. His Gordon voice in Gotham is just a deeper Batman voice
I always thought this movie was just about Batman I didn't even know it was really about commissioner gordon
For me that's exactly the reason why it's so great. The fact that Jim Gordon is the main character makes the history much more realistic, like a noir drama.

So cool how The Dark Knight Returns movies are a sequel to this like the comics. In Jim’s house in TDKR there are photos of his family from this movie. And his wife is actually Sarah, the woman he had an affair with in this movie. So he must’ve divorced his first wife

I'm sure he did the best he could, but Ben McKenzie was badly miscast for the role of Batman. His performance is just too monotone and boring.
His role as Jim Gordon is amazing
I disagree! I love his monotone, makes his Bruce Wayne feel more tragic and emotionally distant.
