How about China leaving Ph territories alone? End of the conflict. All of the countries surrounding that sea have a common purpose. No One should have complete control over that sea, and each country must respect its own EEZ. Vietnam and the Philippines, while being closer to each other and having competing claims, never engage in harming each other or bully one other in the way that China does with its neighbors. China had numerous opportunities to play big brother, but instead bullied Asian countries, prompting those weaker Asian countries to seek assistance from a strong country, which happens to be the United States. These issues are merely the outcome of China's aggressions. If China learns to respect neighboring territories, there will be peace on the part of that water. This article has helped me understand South China sea better. By Peter Y "Why has Xi Jinping aggressively pursued Chinese terroritorial claims in the South China Sea?" South China Sea reporting in the West is the most biased and wrongful one against China and one, if not corrected, can lead to a disastrous war that no one wants. This story is not about China, or Xi Jingping, aggressively trying to take over areas of sea that did not belong to China. It is about how US changed a post World War II world order established between it, China and England. Let me start with Japan. After WWII, when Japan surrendered. also known as the Proclamation Defining Terms for Japanese Surrender, contains the following statement: “ the "Japanese sovereignty shall be limited to the islands of , , , , and such minor islands as we determine," as had been announced in the in 1943”. This document was signed with Chinese participation. That is the “we” in the sentence. Please note that Japan was not allowed to have Okinawa, on which there has been years of protest against US military bases. Neither was Japan allowed to occupy the island “in dispute” with China. US recognized this fact from the end of WWII until 1951, when it convened the so-call “San Francisco Conference of 1951” by specifically excluding China. In it, US made unilateral arrangement that would deny Chinese ownership of the islands that it previously recognized as belonging to China right after WWII and put them all “in dispute”. These include island “in dispute: with Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and all others. To this day, Japan does not have sovereignty over the island “in dispute” with China. America took over its “administrative” duty at San Francisco Conference from China and promised to relay it to UN. It never did. US kept the “administrative” rights until 1971 and then gave to Japan, at the opposition of China. When US signed defense agreement with Japan, the document had to be modified to cover “administrative” regions, instead of just the sovereign areas like all the other defense treaties it signed with other countries. For betraying China, US, in return, got Japanese record of biological experiments done on Chinese people without anesthetics as well as biological weapons and denial of atrocities against Chinese people during its invasion of China. Japan is a country whose territorial ambition exceeds the size of her sovereign lands. For lying and for hiding from war crimes shielded by US, Japan is willing to subject its country to be a shameless vassal state of US. It is a country existing in shame with national psychological ramifications. Now let us talk about Philippines. Why did US not return the island “in dispute” with China back to the Philippines when it left as the colonial master of the Philippines? The answer is very simple - US knew that the island never belonged to Philippines. When US defeated Spain and took over as the colonial master of the Philippines in 1898, these two countries signed the Paris Treaty of 1898. In it, both countries acknowledged that the territories of Philippines lied EAST of east meridian 118. The island in dispute? It lies west of east Meridian 118! It is really that simple. Philippine did not grab these island until after the San Francisco Treaty of 1951, from a still-militarily-weak China. But for the policy of “anyone but China” by the world’s hegemony, there should have never had any dispute in the South China Sea. It is the same story for all the other island in South China Sea. According to Wikipedia: List of countries with overseas military bases, China has less than a handful of overseas bases, none of which are located in South China Sea. Whereas the United States has over 400+ overseas military bases, in Japan, South Korea, Philippines, etc, surrounding China.
Talking about India...no neighbours like india. They can't do anything about it. India is biggest land grabber. But China will fight India. India can talk big but don't talk big to China lol

The fact that this dispute has been fully litigated by the International Court, which decided in favor of the Philippines, means that it is not a bilateral issue but is a question of adherence to the Law of the Sea Treaty, which has been ratified by China, the Philippines, and other countries in the region. One of China's objectives appears to be to show that it is not bound by the treaty, even though it signed the treaty. That makes resolution of disputes with China difficult, because treaties are a typical way of resolving international disputes, and China apparently doesn't think it is bound by the treaties it has signed.
China says Japan has no rights to meddle in the South China Sea. Well, China has no right to be in South China Sea in the first place. The fact is that everyone has a right to freely navigate the South China Sea because it's a public water, which China claims in its entirety only because they want it (no legal basis). So yeah, Japan has all the rights to meddle considering the huge amount of shipments with Japanese commerce passing through it.

@ryan-smith Japan didn't claim but they did surrendered those islands to China, not the Philippines, which was still a US colony in 1945 😂 If PH really believes those were Filipino islands, why not ask the US government to take them back for you? Or maybe the US government tacitly admit that they agreed those islands were given to China decades ago... 😂 Japan also need to reflect themselves on their WWII crime history. The 9-dash line merely demarcates the SCS islands claimed by China since 1945 after Japan surrendered the islands. “Professor Robert Beckman, ISEAS July 2016: “DISPUTES ON TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY The Philippines did not raise any issue with respect to which state had a superior claim to sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea. This is because an Arbitral Tribunal established under UNCLOS can only consider disputes on the interpretation or application of UNCLOS, and UNCLOS contains no provisions on how to resolve sovereignty issues. Therefore, the award of the tribunal does not address the underlying dispute in the South China Sea - the competing claims to sovereignty over the islands. Further, although the tribunal found that China’s claim to historic rights in the 9 dash line is not compatible with UNCLOS, it did not rule that the nine-dash line per se is illegal or invalid. China is under no obligation to formally denounce the nine-dash line. The nine-dash line is still relevant because it shows the location of the various islands in the South China Sea over which China claims sovereignty.”

Japan is a concerned party in the south china sea.The south china sea is connected to east china sea and in extension the overall security of the area. Why is China reprimanding Japan?
"South China sea/ West Philippine sea" United Nations Convention for the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) said there is no legal basis for China to claim historic rights to resources within the sea areas falling within the “nine dash line”. (Present day ten dash line) Every coastal state or country in the world can only claim up to 350 nautical miles of territory including the extended continental shelf and the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). It is not allowed to claim more beyond that with respect to United Nations Convention for the Law of the Sea. The historical narrative of China’s claim is false. The Philippines is the first ever country to name the islands in the West Philippine Sea such as the panacot (Scarborough shoal) and the Los Bajos de Paragua (Spratly islands) in the 1734 Murillo Velarde map. There is no older map from any other country showing that Scarborough shoal or the Spratly’s belonging to them. The 1734 Murillo Velarde map has the cartouche of the kingdom of Spain, it is the official map of Spain to the Philippines under the regime of Spain. China’s oldest official maps shows that their southernmost territory is only up to Hainan which tells us that even if China wants to push their historical narrative, history itself is contrary to their narrative. The Chinese territory extended no further south than Hainan. The Chinese 1914, 1924, 1937, and 1947 republic constitution provides that “the republic of China continues to be the territory of the former empire” this quote refers to the Qing dynasty territory which was the largest expansion of Chinese territory and that we know only extends until Hainan. Their own constitution clearly declares where their boundaries can only extend and this fact makes the claiming of the whole of south china sea contrary to their own constitution or in other words unconstitutional. There was no evidence that China historically exercised exclusive control over the waters of south China sea or their resources. The tribunal is unable to identify any evidence that would suggest that China historically regulated or controlled fishing in the south China sea, beyond the limits of the territorial sea. China’s historical claim of the whole of south China sea is so inconsistent and at times contrary to each other that it is not even valid enough for their narrative. Thus, China never had historic rights in the south China sea. The Philippines on the other hand have a strong case to present to the tribunal to the West Philippine Sea issue. The Philippines have factual evidence that they own the Spratly islands and Scarborough shoal, not only historical evidence but also legal rights. Two of the strongest Legal basis of the Philippines is the Washington Treaty between Spain and The United States of America and the Treaty of Peace of Paris. The Treaty of Peace of Paris’ frame of reference is the 1734 Murillo Velarde map because it is the official Philippine territory under the Spanish regime and this is what they have ceded to the Americans under the Treaty of Washington and the Treaty of Paris which includes Scarborough shoal and the Spratly islands. Basically the Murillo Velarde map is still the basis that determines the territory of the Republic of the Philippines. In the 1900 Treaty of Washington, Spain had relinquished to the United States all title and claim of title, which Spain may have had at the time of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace of Paris, to any and all islands belonging to the Philippine Archipelago, lying outside the lines of the Treaty of Paris. These territories outside the lines, included Scarborough shoal and the Spratly islands. The Philippines have absolute exclusive rights over the West Philippine Sea. The tribunal decision by the UNCLOS is clear that the West Philippine Sea is rightly owned by the Republic of the Philippines and not of China based on the clear evidence that the Philippines represented. China’s actions in the West Philippine Sea is not recognised by the UNCLOS and is therefore illegal under the eyes of international law. China by bullying small nations because of its greed and expansionist agenda is a bad example to the whole world and shouldn’t be tolerated by the United Nations. The law must always be upheld and the violators must always be punished and face the consequence.
China do not want Japan as medling to the WPS. While China is illegally like to grab and medling the WPS are islands owned and covered by Philippines sovereignty or EEZ.

By Peter Y
"Why has Xi Jinping aggressively pursued Chinese terroritorial claims in the South China Sea?"
South China Sea reporting in the West is the most biased and wrongful one against China and one, if not corrected, can lead to a disastrous war that no one wants.

Vietnam claim similar historical right as china and they have the most islands in spratlies.
Say what you will, but china got the islands by right of conquest. You don't like it? Fight and take it back.
So, I guess you approve of Vietnam's method of just building man-made islands everywhere as a "civilized" approach to resolving the South China Sea disputes, as they are the most aggressive island builders in the region and also have the most number of islands? If you do indeed believe that is the "civilized" approach, please do boldly make that declaration in a legally binding manner.
By the way, did you know that the speed and efficacy of China's infrastructure building capabilities are unmatched in the world?
“A picture worth a thousand words” what side do you believe? The Chinese foreign minister’s words or the Philippino coastguard’s body cam?

Japan has no right? What right do you have in PH exclusive economic zone reinforced by 2016 arbitral ruling based on UNCLOS?
THE SHOAL THEIR IS UNDER PHILIPPINES 200 NAUTICAL MILES ECONOMIC ZONE BASED ON INTERNATIONAL LAW WHILE CHINA IS 1,200 AWAY FROM THE SHOAL.

Sino-Japanese Peace Treaty
Article 2
It is recognized under Treaty of Peace with Japan signed at San Francisco, Japan has renounced all right, title, and claim to Taiwan and penguin as well as Spartly Islands and Paracel Islands.
OBEY WW2 ORDER, OR DEFEAT CCP IF YOU WANT TO REWRITE IT.
@@conti-vl6tx Is Japan claiming the paracels and spratlys or even Taiwan today? Show me any news or publications saying so. The reality is no, Japan is not claiming any of the disputed islands today. But Japan certainly has a right to navigate the South China Sea or enter into military agreement with any country like the Philippines. In addition, Japan also does not recognize that stupid nine dash line (or ten dash line now). You can't just draw a line on a map out of your expansionist dirty imagination and expect nations would recognize it.
Japan also need to reflect themselves on their WWII crime history.
The 9-dash line merely demarcates the SCS islands claimed by China since 1945 after Japan surrendered the islands.
“Professor Robert Beckman, ISEAS July 2016:
“DISPUTES ON TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY
The Philippines did not raise any issue with respect to which state had a superior claim to sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea.
@@conti-vl6tx 1st, Japan did not occupy the spratlys and paracels so it's invalid to give it to anyone. 2nd, Japan did not occupy the entire south china sea like the nine-dash-line.
@@ryan-smith China doesn’t claim everything in the South China Sea. This is a fake narrative propagated by the western mainstream media to smear China. China is claiming the SCS islands which were surrendered by Japan in 1945. Only up to 200 nm of waters measured from the shorelines of these islands belong to the owner of these islands.

Japan is a concerned party in the south china sea.The south china sea is connected to east china sea and in extension the overall security of the area. Why is China reprimanding Japan?
"South China sea/ West Philippine sea"
United Nations Convention for the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) said there is no legal basis for China to claim historic rights to resources within the sea areas falling within the “nine dash line”. (Present day ten dash line)
Every coastal state or country in the world can only claim up to 350 nautical miles of territory including the extended continental shelf and the exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
Well researched and the truth.
China do not want Japan as medling to the WPS. While China is illegally like to grab and medling the WPS are islands owned and covered by Philippines sovereignty or EEZ.

FREE TIBET
Compare Tibet before and now with the Communist regime of China. Since Communist China has took control off Tibet, the population in the capital has increased from 1.2 million in year 1951 to 3 million now in year 2024. Infant mortality has dropped from 43% to 0.6%, life expectancy has risen from 35 to 67 years old. And Tibet now has 22,000km of highways all built by communist China which is in a really difficult mountainous regions. So the GDP today is also 30 times better off, 8 billion yuan has been given to children in Tibet to attend boarding schools so the illiteracy rate has gone from 90% to 1.2%.
Instead of China taking things, taking all of these things away from Tibet they^ve poured loads and loads of money into it and Tibet has changed from a place which had extreme poverty to somewhere where people can have better lives. If you're Tibetan you can get extra point on your high school exam because CCP want to give minorities a fair chance of going to the top universities.
China helped Tibet with lots of work projects, remove slavery, unemployment and also allowed running water and electricity throughout the whole of Tibet.

You are 1000+ miles away from the territory disputed while Philippines and Vietnam are just 100-200 miles away from the island. You don't have claim wake up
Proximity does not equal sovereignty. Just because something is close to you, does not mean it's part of your country. The Philippines never had control over these reefs and islands, and it was never recognized by any other country. The territory of the Philippines has clearly been delimited by Spain and the US. The Philippines should stop being surprised that China does not accept its territory from being stolen by them.
