  • Wow what an impressive optic for the money. This is the best budget red dot on the market! The HS403B is highly recommended!

    Thanks for the review! Would be helpful to see you mount it, install the battery, zero it, and shoot steel with it at different ranges, say from 7 to 100 yds to show how well it holds zero and to test the parallax free claim.

    Great video and informative. I just purchases from Heart of Texas Armory - very fair pricing and excellent service.

    I'm very happy that this was suggested to me now, because I saw the price tag of that aimpoint and I nearly shat my pants, it's over half the cost of my entire rifle! I'm not gonna pay anywhere near that! I bought a budget scope for under a hundred bucks for my other rifle and it's crystal clear, I can make 150 or 200 yard shots without any trouble and 100 yards is fun for me all day. I'm not looking to be that serious but my friend spent that kind of money and he liked my budget scope more so I'm more than glad to spend like 150 or less for this and I'm excited for it :D

    Great video, but all the reviews I have seen on this optic, and others as well, no one reviews them on or for the Ruger 22/45. Realistically I realize that it most likely will be done on the light version of the firearm but that's the latest and greatest. Anyways I would like to see a video of the optic on the 22/45 platform. Again great video.

    It's a great sight. I never took it to war as 3 back surgeries I'm not fit for that. But I still work full time hunt and hike and pretty rough on stuff and mine stays zeroed in.

    Bought one brand new on sale from PSA a few months ago. It was defective brand new out of the box. At 5 power and above I had a red fire looking ring on the outside of of the lens where it’s glued into the tube. Sent in in to Holosun for replacement a month ago. Still waiting for a replacement. I have had to call a few times to ask what’s going on. I was told a replacement would get shipped MAYBE by the end of next week. Slow customer service that needs to be followed up on several times. I never for a direct answer but have a feeling Holosun is having issues with this sight currently. If not I’m sure they would have sent a replacement immediately. I should have just returned it.

    The 403r is a better unit for the same price. Better battery compartment, longer life, rotary brightness dial instead of push buttons, shrouded elevation and windage knobs.

    Is it normal for this optic to have a reddish streak to the left of the reticle?

    • @HeartofTexasArmory
      @HeartofTexasArmory  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most likely it sounds like you have an astigmatism. You can confirm this by taking a picture of the reticle, and then comparing that to what you see with your own eye. Most likely the picture if focus properly will show a crisp reticle. If you do have astigmatism, it's definitely not the end of the world. You do not need to have a crisp perfect Dot to use a red dot effectively and very accurately. 👍

    • @JohnWicksPencil14
      @JohnWicksPencil14 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HeartofTexasArmory it’s not astigmatism, I don’t see anything like this out of my 503g acss or the aimpoint pro. I ordered a new one and still seeing the same thing. I’ve also showed friends that see the same thing.

      Honestly, asthetics is the only difference I can find. I’m fairly sure holosun makes the Romeo 5’s for sig to market btw, to the gentleman above.

    • @efm2169
      @efm2169 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got a Romeo 5 and there is a really bad red hue that covers half of the optic when you are in low light with rear ambient light in room. You can actually see the reflection of the emitter usually when in house. I called sig and they said it’s normal. I told them my bushnell trs25 and cheap field sports red dots do not do this. Sig says there is nothing they can do for me so I am returning it. Do you have any of these problems with he holosun? It looks similar to the Romeo 5. I like the wake and auto shut off feature.

    • @jackedwards9362
      @jackedwards9362 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@efm2169 the romeo5 has increased in popularity alot. Production demands result in lower CQ checks im assuming. Anyhow, holosun makes both the romeo and the hs403b. They are technically the same optic, with different marketing names. However, there are more variations of the holosun ( different reticles and hardware)

      Zero for purpose, I zero at 100yds, then go to 5 to check standoff. that is caused by the height of the center of optic to the bore, about 3 ". keep moving back in 5-yard increments. this will give you standoff'. If your weapon is being used for building clearing or home defense, zero at 20 is good. Follow the same procedure to check standoff for a longer distance.
