My sister’s cat did that one time. He tried to get her attention by meowing at her and her husband just to show them where the fly is. But it just keeps moving around. Their cat is like, “Humans, do you not see the fly?!” 😂
That isn't a meow, it is 'cat chatter' - they do that when something they feel is prey is not attainable. Mine does it when it sees birds on the lawn or other cats outside though the window :)

All my cat does is take a running gallop from one end of the hallway to the other and sticks itself to our wall. Her name is DC. Dumb Cat. Damndest, dopiest thing I've ever seen.
