A lot of work was put into getting everything right and putting more builds in. If I got something wrong, please let me know.
*Windows did not have any sounds before 3.1.
*Windows NT 5.0 EUR is fake.
*This Whistler startup and shutdown sound: • Fake Windows Whistler ... is fake
*Microsoft Longhorn sounds aren't official and are believed to actually come from a Windows XP Custom Theme
*Windows Server 2003 UK sound is fake.
*Odyssey bootscreens are fake. Any video that has Odyssey is incorrect. While Neptune and Odyssey were being planned out at the same time, they only released one Alpha build of Neptune and Microsoft never released a single build of Odyssey so no one knows for sure what sounds it would have. I would assume it would have Windows 2000 sounds but I wouldn't put up an unleaked OS on these videos.
*Windows 8 and 10 have the Windows 7 startup sound. The reason why you don’t hear it is because it is disabled by default. You can enable it in the “sounds” window where you change the sounds. It is a box that you need to check that says something like “Play Windows Startup Sound”.
*Windows Codename Millennium used Windows 98 sounds. No, I’m not wrong. I know this.
*Some of the Vista builds used the Vista logoff sound as a shutdown sound. One build used the logon sound as a startup sound while others used XP sounds or mixed between XP and Vista sounds.
*The earliest builds of Whistler had a Windows 2000 boot screen.
*Whistler build 2481 was the first build to introduce Windows XP sounds but still kept Windows 2000 sounds as default.
Try out the operating systems yourself like I did and you should get the same results as me.
Sorry for the low quality Windows NT 5.0 image at 16:02

Changes in this video:
*Builds 2485 and 2486 were corrected. I originally put in Windows 2000 sounds for those builds but it turns out those builds actually used Windows XP sounds
@Art Burgija There are no more sounds I can really add in unless there are major leaked builds that were previously not leaked. The chances of a new major leaked build is very slim. All I can do now is try to improve my accuracy until something major comes out. All I did was correct a couple sounds at a time after I decided there was nothing else to add.
Maybe because you try all builds but i only install final versions
I used Windows 95 in virtual Pc, it only have startup(The Microsoft sound)
no error
no shutdown
Windows 98 Beta 2/Beta 2.1/Beta 3 build 1593 is a Build with Windows 98 beta 3 boot screen and 95 sounds, but I don't see that build
@@Chan4444mc Windows 95 does have a shutdown sound and it's the tada by default if I'm remembering correctly but for some reason yours didn't have it on. Windows 98 beta 2 and beta 2.1 have their own boot screens. Beta 2 used 95 sounds and 2.1 used beta 3 sounds. You can find all Windows 98 development builds here: winworldpc.com/product/windows-98/beta-1
Hi
Awesome job! I guess that this video has confirmed that non of the Windows Longhorn build uses the Longhorn sounds and instead continued to use the XP sounds. Even more tripper that still uses XP sounds when the Vista start orb was first introduced.
There is actually another build of Neptune, 5111.6. The disk was shown in a channel9 video, I believe.
Interesting. AN ACTUAL SECOND BUILD OF NEPTUNE MADE BY MICROSOFT AND NOT SOME FAKE. How often do you see that for Neptune? I didn't believe you at first because I hear about millions of fake Neptune builds and there being only one that ever existed and finally, something real for once.

Yup I saw that. That was the first place I went immediately after I read your comment.
Just goes to show, there can be a little golden truth behind the rocks of lies.
So proud that you're a person that posts real windows sounds not fake startup or shutdown I hate fakers
Thank you for your comment! I try to make these Windows sounds videos as real as possible. I've had a couple fakes get by a few times that were not obvious. The only reason I've been able to stop these not-so obvious fakes from getting by is the viewers letting me know. Without them, I would not be able to make these videos as accurate as they are today.
(I do actually try to confirm their claims are correct. I don't listen to every comment as some can be obviously not true or I have confirmed myself that they are not true. It's rare to find a person comment letting me know that something I did in the video was wrong or there was a fake so I have gotten hated on because people say I don't ever listen to other people and that I think I'm always right. That's not true. I have an open mind to viewers telling me I'm wrong.)
@@Sonicrush007 Yeah the sounds that I actually thought were real was fake longhorn and Whistler startup and shutdown But I've seen server 2003 animation before so I was like that's fake . And why UK only It just dosen't make sense because its expensive just for 1 sound. I also actually thought Nt 5 beta 2 shutdown was windows 2000 build 1946 1969 startup But it was NT 4 shutdown the rest I knew like melenium developer release and home server. It was just longhorn startup shutdown Whistler startup shutdown and NT 5 beta 2 shutdown that I actually thought were real
Microsoft Windows XP never gets tired. But I heard windows XP that its startup is going on low pitch. BUT A LEGEND NEVER DIES. Heal XP with a like.
Edit:ANNNND this video is amazing, it even has Microsoft Plus! Sounds! Sad that there is no Microsoft Plus! For new versions of Microsoft Windows.

Great video! The Chicago Preliminary Release - 1994 boot screen might be fake, I'm not sure. :D
I did some research and it is not fake. I see multiple videos of people testing the build and that boot screen appears.
Thanks for trying though.
@@Sonicrush007 Huh. Always thought it was fake because it used a different font from the other Chicago builew.
@@CNETech To me, the font doesn't look different. It's just that the text is more blurry and stretched out which makes it look different.
2000 builds 1983-2000.3 actually use the RTM boot screen :)
Then why the heck was I using this then? SMH. (You're right. I don't know how the heck I screwed that part up when if you look at my channel, and search for the video, it'll be obvious that I used build 2000 before).
This sound my favourite
Server builds around that time frame (1993, 1999, 2000.3, and 2031 known) did not use the RTM boot screen even though Professional had it and still used the one from build 1964 (and likely earlier given 1946 had the mini boot screen). It wasn't until no later than Build 2068 that Server used the RTM boot screen.

Edit NOHO ITS A THANK FOR LIKES
Hello, why you wrote in the description, what all Windows before 3.1 don't have any sounds? Windows 3.0 have it! But the video is really nice👍
Thanks for watching the video! None of the sounds before 3.0 MME had sounds. These were still the early days of computers so audio wasn't common. Any video claiming that there were sounds before 3.0 is either fake or the uploader never had any sort of experience with the OSes. Pretty much 99% of people who do those videos never even try the OSes and builds themself. I'm in the 1% of uploaders who actually make the attempt to try every single build and OSes.
I like how over half the video is before year 2000
Part of it is because I did not do Windows 7, Windows 8, major Windows 10 builds and Server builds. If I included them and I may, it would be longer.
This is so long! If more windows come out, then the video will be 1 hour long by 2050!
There won't be another version of Windows. Microsoft announced before the release of Windows 10 that Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows and will be supported forever with feature updates.
It's also very unlikely Windows 10's style will change any time soon.
@@Sonicrush007 So it will look the same for 100 years?
@@MintdowsOnYT I have doubts that Windows will even be around for another 50 years. It's sad to say it but you have to face the truth, nothing lasts forever.
It's possible that Microsoft could change the look in the future but at the rate Windows 10 is changing, it's going to be a really long time until they make any major changes to the UI and sounds.
@@thesandwichslayer9948 Windows 10 wasn't designed to be like the Xbox. It was designed to have features with Xbox. The newer dashboard designs of the Xbox One are more like Windows now than ever.
Xbox was not based on Windows 2000 or any Windows OS specifically. It was only based on the Windows NT kernel. Xbox OSes will never share sounds with Windows OSes. Each Xbox generation have their own startup sound.
@@thesandwichslayer9948 I don't think you're crazy nor is the video fake. Someone probably just modified the system OS so it would play that sound.
Hey dude one of my school laptops has one of windows 8 builds and im sure the one you showed there is not the build that laptop has. Anyways I'm pretty sure that there is more windows 8 builds.
There is only two builds of Windows 8 but different editions of Windows 8. There is Windows 8.0 which was the first edition that had no start button. That was build 9200. Then there is Windows 8.1 which introduces a start button but no start menu as result of criticism over them removing the start menu, that is build 9600.
The other versions you are seeing are Windows RT which is based off of Windows 8 but is intended for lower power tablets only. The start menu is there because of update 3 which reintroduced the start menu because there was no way to update these tablets to Windows 10 due to them using ARM processors. There is also Windows Embedded 8 which you probably should never see unless you are on an ATM and the application happens to be closed or if you are using a cash register. Then there's Windows Server 2012 and the name should make it obvious that it is an OS intended for servers. We don't call these different editions "builds" because builds are another thing. These editions usually all use the same build number as the main edition of Windows. The proper word for these editions are "SKUs".
Ahem, ik what's a build and what's an edition but there different builds.
@@Stazzical All of the editions shared build numbers except for Embedded 8 (embedded 8.1 shares the 8.1 build number though). Even Server 2012 as well. They do the same thing with Windows 10 (Server and LTSB/LTSC editions). So there's technically just three builds total ever released for Windows 8.
Ok so billy the only request now I have is to collapse windows 10 into every build that existed so that might introduces us every update of windows 10 like the build 1903
@@Stazzical I have thought about that but the problem with that is that every build of Windows 10 looks the same. There has not been any noticeable change to the UI since 1511 or 1607 where they made a minor change to the taskbar. Also don't forget that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows and I would have update the video forever and all people are going to hear is the Windows 7 startup sound constantly and that'll get annoying.
Something I thought of though is adding the Windows 7-10 development builds because there were changes in those. Windows 10's development builds were probably the most important ones due to significant changes in the UI. I used Windows 10 during the technical preview and it looked exactly like Windows 8.1 but with a start menu and then they changed the look with new icons, taskbar, and titlebar. That's something that I should add though. I probably won't be adding any more than maybe a couple of builds since there were not many significant changes.
In order for me to add a build there would have to be at least one of these changes:
1. Boot screen change
2. Desktop UI changes
3. Change in sounds
If there aren't any of those, I just add a range for the build. Those are pretty much my rules for adding builds.
Since there was a change in the 1607 taskbar (I think it was that build but I'm not sure) maybe I'll add "Windows 10 versions 1507-1511" and "Windows 10 versions 1607-present" but I would have to first check and see which version of Windows 10 it changed in. If there are any immediately noticeable changes to the desktop UI, I'll add it but I'm not going to do every build though since it doesn't meet the rules for me adding a build.
The 60’s USA startup sound from 95 plus sounds creepy.

Why windows 2000 build 1983 and 2020 are different shutdown sounds
Windows 2000 RTM and Neptune have the same shutdown sound. Are you referring to the earlier Windows 2000 builds?

I remember seeing on some website two windows versions that haven`t appeared in this video, yet i don`t know if they're real or not:
Windows Daytona : "a beta version of Windows 95 C/B"
Windows Powered : "an addon to Windows 2000 Server"
For Windows Powered, i saw a few screenshots with different bootscrens and i don't know if they're real or not.
There is no Windows "Daytona". Windows 95 always went by "Chicago" throughout the whole development. Windows Powered itself is not an OS but is rather like an upgrade for Windows 2000 Advanced Server only that adds some server related features.

@@cristianmurgociu9462 Detroit is the codename for Windows 95 OSR2 which is an updated version to include (if I remember correctly) Internet Explorer.
Avoid old-dos. I found that website to be malicious. Their downloads do contain some sort of malicious code that is not in any .ISOs that I use from the main source that I use which is very reputable. Some websites modify their .ISOs to sort of patch it to fix or change things which is not good because the .ISO is no longer legitimate anymore. You want to use winworldpc.com for most .ISO images since they're guaranteed to not be touched and to be 100% safe.
Daytona is the codename for NT 3.5, Windows Powered's bootscreen is fake.
@@CNETech Nevermind, you are right. I was looking at a list of codenames used by Microsoft on a Wikipedia page and I missed that the first time I looked.
Hmm... are there any versions you skipped on purpose for brevity reasons?
For example, I know it does exist Windows XP Media Center Edition but I don't see it among them.
I honestly skipped Windows XP Media Center Edition because I just saw it as another edition of Windows XP. At the same time though, I added Windows XP Professional and Home Editions. Since a lot of people are pointing this out and I added the editions of Windows XP, I guess in the future I'll add it. This video is technically not finished. I knew that there were things still missing such as builds for some OSes. I plan on just editing the video and adding to it and fixing any mistakes as I find them over time. *_This video was not intentionally done to be short but to be complete._* With that stated, it would not make sense for me to miss out on those other editions of Windows and I should in the future add them.

That image that the fandom website used looks fake. The colors of the logo aren't even right. There's usually a reason why OSes don't have images online. If you read enough about that build on beta wiki, you would have saw that the build was not leaked therefore it is impossible to get an image or audio off of it until someone has successfully leaked it and it has been confirmed that they are real.

Neptune was based off of 2000 wasn't it?
No. Neptune was supposed to be itself. Ir was meant to have a new UI that was more home user friendly. It cannot be based on Windows 2000 unless the OS is exactly the same. Windows Me looked like Windows 2000 but it wasn’t based on it. Windows POSReady 2009 is an actual example of an OS being based off another because it was completely based off Windows XP and used the same build number and similar UI but they are not the same OS.

Your forgetting the windows NT sounds from 2002
???
I don't ever forget things. You realize that there was never an OS called "Windows NT" released after 1996, right? Windows NT is now just the name of the kernel that modern Windows OSes use. If you think I "forgot" anything, that's because what you thought I forgot was fake. Sure, I make mistakes every once in awhile but I never forget any sounds and what builds exist. 14:41 Wilndows NT 5.0
Is Microsoft Memphis real?
Of course. I wouldn't put it up there if it wasn't. Memphis was the codename used for Windows 98 in its development. All OSes use a codename in their development. Windows 95 used the codename Chicago, Windows 2000 used the codename Windows NT 5.0, Windows XP used the codename Whistler, Windows Vista used the codename Longhorn (I can't remember the others off the top of my head but they all used codenames). The codenames are there just as a temporary name before they come up with the final name.
@@Sonicrush007 7 was 'Windows 7', (Blackcomb also used the codename Vienna, they aren't even related to Windows 7) 8 was 'Windows 8', 8.1 was 'Blue', and 10 was 'Threshold'
@@CNETech Not true. Windows 7 went by a codename at some point. The original name "Blackcomb" was renamed to Vienna in 2006 and development of Windows 7 should have already began before that (obviously). Vienna very much has a lot to do with Windows 7 because that's what Windows 7 was. It wasn't until late 2008 that Microsoft announced Windows 7's final name and Windows 7 was pretty close to being finished as it was released the next year.
