These have been my favorite 3 rappers for a few years now, seeing someone logically bring them together under the GOAT trinity is just insane. One of the most immaculate videos I’ve ever watched.
I mean, considering Mr. Morale, I feel like Kendrick would be the Holy Spirit, as a driving force for the culture, someone who makes you think about it and influences other people to do the same, and also your savior he is not. His discography is good, yeah, but what Kendrick realized was that the flaws in his ideas and image displayed in TPAB especially, crushed his public image. The entire point of Mr. Morale, is that Kendrick will never be your savior if he sins, and he will, because he is a human like the rest of us. MF Doom could work as the Son, as a pioneer of the genre. Or another person. idk.
@@foodhorse that’s definitely the message on Mr Morale yeah. I agree that Kendrick isn’t capable of functioning as a literal savior cause he’s a flawed human being like the rest of us. Unfortunately for Kendrick his whole career, even during and past the Mr Morale Era has put him in this position culturally. Kendrick isn’t your savior, but you wouldn’t know that by looking at him. Especially with the continued Jesus analogies that he plays into.
@@bonelessbenny6039 Yeah, but still, Kendrick has always presented himself authentically in his music in all his albums, and whether that convinces anybody or not, it matters what he chooses to be, and that seems to be a leader and mentor for the culture.
@@bonelessbenny6039I think of it as this, when Doom passed away, Kendrick became the new Reaper of Hip Hop. To pave the way for hip hop as a culture to continue to evolve.
"Kendrick will never be your savior if he sins, and he will, because he is a human like the rest of us." Jesus being both human and divine is an important aspect to his divinity. He is both Son of Man and Son of God. Sure Jesus is sinless unlike Kendrick but I think it still fits him. Also like, he played into this a lot himself. "Before you get to the Father, you gotta holla at me first, bitch"
Yeah I battle with this too especially how I’m absolutely willing to write off a racist, an anti-Semite, a straight up asshole no questions asked But we know what’s up with Kanye and I don’t usually use mental illness as an excuse when we all have free will to seek help and to get better but for some reason, Ye gets my pass. I feel like a piece of shit about it though
Well done great video and love this theory. One part you missed was that MF’s family announced he passed away on New Year’s Eve, which I can only see as being a super villain and ruining every hip hop lover’s celebration with that announcement. Only thing is it made me celebrate in tribute to him
Yea because when it’s comes to lyrical rap Kanye definitely isn’t one of the greats since he isn’t that good at rapping and has ghostwriters. But Beat selection and Producing/Cultivating is where he excels.
@@Maydupnem777 for the most part but not entirely true because he came out and said that he had Pardison Fontaine ghostwrite the Violent Crimes verses. So while it’s true that he credits all of em like 90% of the time he HASN’T credited every writer he has had in his career.

While Kendrick does make a good case for "the son." IMO Nas is the only son, he literally has "God's Son" across his belly. He is considered the golden child of hip hop, carrying the mantle from Rakim. His lyricism and storytelling are second to none. Like the son, he has "resurrected" his career recently through the 6 album in 3 3-year run with Hit-boy. He breaks through genre walls, especially through the album "Distant-Relatives" with Damian Marley. His subject matter is diverse and was the mainstream foundation for conscious hip hop in the 90s and into the 21st century. He constantly preaches about upliftment and saving/improving the world.
