bennett seeing a decline with neuv and furina's release is pretty expected, but he shot back up quickly with navia, xianyun, arle and clorinde. hes gonna be pretty prevalent with emilie too.
Just powercreep him already. Let him rest
@@karsnogen8141 mavuika should
@@karsnogen8141 no
@@karsnogen8141 the only way could have let him rest was to make supports that are just as strong as him. and they've started doing that by locking OP stuff behind 4* constellations, and by not constricting buffs to circle impact, but its a bit too little too late now.
although, given the natlan leaks, it doesnt seem too unlikely that bennett will see another sharp decline. but that will also impact all of the other existing supports that are currently beneath him
@@_mako I'd rather Bennett staying as meta or just relevant than suddenly going out of meta cuz he's replaced by someone overcreeping his buffs.
As much as I'd like someone else who does what he does but better, I'd rather have the choice of using 4*s for the abyss than having to force myself into using an all 5* expensive team.

Not the top 4 characters being neuvis BiS team 💀🙏
it's an overkill team sticking furina with neuv... best spread her buffs out to other characters. Right now my abyss teams split neuv and furina up. i'm buffing the neuv side with a nahida/nilou bloom team, plus neuv, the dps is insane tbh. far better then the neuv/furina teams. meanwhile sticking furina with navia and xainyun make a 2nd abyss smashing team.
10:28 Alhaitham's graph be like: WE'RE SO BACK IT'S SO OVER WE'RE SO BACK IT'S SO OVER WE'RE SO BACK IT'S SO OVER WE'RE SO BACK IT'S SO OVER
Bennett shot back up because of Arlecchino.
Furina also had nothing to do with Kokomi's decline. Kokomi's most used team(s) was being the Hydro Applicator for Ayaka Freeze and being the driver of NIlou Bloom, which both saw massive declines in usage throughout Fontaine.
Okay I'm watching this more, and looking at the data in a vacuum really is not reliable because you also have to use it in combination with the enemy trends that were releasing throughout Fontaine. Like Xiao saw a massive jump and then an immediate tumble because the Abyss lineup throughout Fontaine frequently used either Elemental Checks or Coppellia consistently who had high anemo resistance..
Ayaka's new premium team IS with furina so of course it has to do with her
Kokomi has only a little resurgence with Furina team. And yea it really not entirely related to Furina but the shift of the meta after she release and more healing option available.
People quickly realize that you don't need that much heal and Kokomi hydro application is not needed when you have Furina, Xingqiu, Yelan and in a way Ayato. The hydro slot is very competitive. Her most reliable team right now is Nilou as the healer and even then sometimes you don't need that much healing once you play better and can avoid your own bloom explosion. I may argue Ayaka team doesn't even need Kokomi anymore. If you speed running you just use Mona and if you really need healing you can just put the Prototype Amber on Mona and heal the entire team. All you need is 1 rotation or 2 at most. And Ayaka has been in the decline since abyss is no longer freeze favorable so the people that use her team are people that speed running and kill stuff fast regardless of freeze. And well, you can use Furina as well. If you clear fast then the HP drain doesn't do much of anything and Bennett also help for 1 tick maxxing out Furina stack.
For the healing option right now also have more option to choose the Denro healer. Those take up the denro application slot and also free up the healer for bloom team and many team so you can use the OP hydro characters. And on top of that the 4 stars are given out for free. Bailu is top option for Neuvi and also decemt for Nilou as well which also again free up the healer spot.
So both of her benefits is that providing healing and application are challenged a lots.
@@KKKumaMona’s application is meh, and her healing w/ Prototype is far from good. Kokomi is still quite strong, though her usage rates have decreased.
Mona and Ayato were the most affected by Furina and Neuvi respectively. They were heavily powercrept. Baizhu’s dendro application is lacking, and he is not a core character in most of his teams
Kokomi also didn’t have a rerun in a long time. I expect usage rates to surge after her banner.
@@KKKumaKokomi's the main trigger for bloom due to how reaction ownership works. Plus you dont just "avoid bloom damage", its simply impossible/impractical without going out of your way to get out of the range, severely hurting dps. So no, a healer/shielder is basically mandatory.
But you would still use furina over her in those teams
If Mavuika replaces Xiangling in every team that needs off-field Pyro, will we finally be free?
Yes please xiangling keep enslaving a slot on my teams

It's funny cause i actually use them both in the same team with Kazu and Yelan, mono hydro go blup-blup-blup~~
i think the drop in Kokomi numbers is caused by Neuvillette more than Furina
i literally called it lmao. back in the days people would call me kokomi hater but i knew she was gonna tank as soon as we get more off field hydro appliers. and that's exactly what happened lmao. even though furina was generally a buff for healers, kokomi fell off hard.
@@4_rol4 lol no. neuvillete and kokomi are completely different characters. one is a support and the other is a dps. the reason kokomi fell is very simple. furina, xinqui and yelan are just better. before furina, we didn't have many hydro options. now that everyone got furina, there is basically no reason to use kokomi. and furina preferring party wide healers more also didn't help kokomi.
Those puns were purrfect
I was initially surprised that Baizhu was so high, the I thought about it and realized it's because I have constellations that's why i don't use him. C1 Neuvilette means i dont need Baizhu's shield for interrupt resistance and c2 Furina means I don't need his healing to increase my fanfare stacks. It's interesting that constellations managed to completely eliminate the need of a "meta" character like that.
Same tbh. I don't like the character, in my case. And have no cons on Furina. I use Cloud Retainer. And ended up with double anemo, double hydro. It definitely works and is funny as heck~
Ah forgot to mention my Neuvi is c2
a good bit of food for thought is not just the character's strength but also the buffs and enemies in abyss as well. just a good thing to keep in mind as they obviously skew things to be more favorable for certain characters

Too many gachas recently, Genshin, HSR, Wuwa and ZZZ. Even Xlice was complaining about it.

I heckin love watching c6 dps showdowns, such relatable content
6:06 Bennett went up because of Arlecchino 😭
and then dipped down dramatically 🙂
Neuvillete and Furina carried so many team. Many characters got resurgence thanks to them, whether Neuvi alone Furina alone or those two together. Not only they just strong, it is that they enable more team and more characters that are not frequently used.
Zhongli keep getting consistent usage because people always prefer comfort. At the same time, his best team are usually 1 element dominance so Petra set work very well. And not to mention he has been rerun so many times so people have his c2 now which reduce his field time significantly while also increasing his personal damage as you only need to cast ultimate instead of casting hold skill then ulti as DPS loss or just hold Skill and ignore ultimate. Depen on investment and buff, he can deal somewhere around 120k or even more for just about 2-3 seconds field time each rotation which is fantastic.
Nahida is very good too, she has been the dendro character since her debut. Same as Neuvillete and Furina, she also enable a lots of team. My only issue is that sometimes I kill enemies so fast that her skill is still on CD when the new one appear which feel very bad. Alhaltham is a decent alternative to her for me. When I want to use him I just replace Nahida and usually they clear at similar speed.
My Kuki + DMC team has been doing works since denro release. They are so good together, I love using them so much.
On the other side, I think Clorine is still a bit underrated, she is very very strong. It doesn't seem that way but when you actually play the team, it feel so smooth and fast.
Right now I have so many team options that it is hard to choose which one I prefer doing. I think the game is in a healthy stage right now despite some character are way better than others.
Hats off to you for not only making this video, but also sharing the raw data for others to play with!
Kinda proof the point, the character roaster is going too big, some of them didn't even have a used anymore 😂

i agree, any future 4star dps have no hope in todays condition, even some 5stars might struggle if they offer nothing significant
@@Biohacker777This.
new DPS needs to be either insanely strong or requires low investment to be viable for average players.
Resin and Dogshit Artifacts system are mainly the issue because if a new character is merely slightly "stronger" The older "weaker" Character will still potentially "better" from better artifacts investment that took months if not YEARS to complete so getting new Character is very pointless.
I speak from experience maining Diluc and Keqing hyper investing on both since day one until I eventually decide to get Hu Tao and Raiden.
Only after YEAR of artifact farming both Hu Tao and Raiden can catch up performance wise.
@@zadokutah2315 This is so true, i consume leaks so that i could prefarm artifacts before the character release, that way i could enjoy their full potential immediately
However, idk how to solve this problem as a dev either, if they release low investment kit, player will get bored even faster since they can complete building char and then theres nothing to do in the game, but like you said, if its a powercreep char, artifact farming suck a**, and if its only slight power increase and player already have similar char, nobody wants it, hmmm...
Not every character has to be Abyss-meta to be good even if every character can clear Abyss.
I think diluc is kind of an immovable object in a graph like this, because he's standard almost everyone has him whilst many people probably don't plan on building him or playing him
omg excel shenanigans 😰
Biggest pattern i found is that the Abyss clear rates are self reported so the 90% of the playerbase who doesnt bother to report arent in the list
Huh that could have received a clearer disclaimer in the video, good to know
90% of players can’t 36 star the abyss
@@shachede6828 so we`re dealing with only 10% of 10%? this data only represents 1 % of players? even more meh
@@straymerodach4713 It depends on what part of the player base you look at. One guy did an informal check of online AR58+ players, think over 300 of them he checked), and just over 50% had 36 starred the Abyss. So for end-game players, the clear rate is likely to be higher than 10%. However, that doesn't tell you what percent of players are AR58+, if the completion rate differs by region, and, of course, is based on who is on-line... more invested players (the type who are more prone to 36-starring) probably spend more time on-line, and so that would skew the numbers.
But yes, the data comes from a Chinese website, self-reported, and so represents people who care enough about the game to do stuff related to it outside of the game, and from a specific region, which impacts playstyles, as well as spending habits. Chinese players being more likely to spend more, and consequently, have more cons and such. Also, data could be further skewed if people can report multiple clears. Those solo clears using Neuv or Wrizzy, for example, are probably not that player's first clear.
That said, people who follow Genshin meta have a pretty good idea of what works and doesn't work, what is easiest and so on, and enemy line up tends to push people in certain directions. ASIMON, for example, will tend to see people using an electro, probably with dendro, and that will in turn lead to certain electros being more used than others.
thats literally what sampling is in statistics. having a huge playerbase makes it impossible to get ALL data
So for Gaming: You misread or misinterpret the graph in this regard. As you said correctly the usage rate is the percentage of peopleclearing Abyss with the owned character. Everyone has Gaming. Who does not own Gaming on their account? The issue is that people use Gaming probably only if he's C6. And even at C6 you still need to use him over the other characters you have.
This probably applies to all the standard characters. Meanwhile characters people actively pulled for will obviously have higher percentages and the graph heavily skews towards newer characters. It's simply the percent value that's misleading. As such the graph has little worth.
Yeah, but the same thing can be said for niche 5* like Lyney or Chiori or Baizhu. Anyone that's a huge fan of those characters and pulls for them will most likely also use them, even if they are not super meta.
So, if you have 100k people that have Baizhu, let's say 80k will use him, I'm just giving random numbers, so he will show up as 80% on graph.
Meanwhile, if 3M people have Raiden and 2M use her, you will see only 66% usage for her on graph, even if MANY more people use Raiden than Baizhu.
TLDR: I never liked these statistics that use percentage of players that have the character, it doesn't show how many times a character is being used, it just shows how biased people are for the character they pull
@@Gennosuke1983 True, bias is one of the factors why people use some characters. But there are other factors like buffs on the abyss or what enemies of course have an impact on the decision of players. The point is it is just about the trends, the graphs only show how many people using some character because of the combination of many factors (the meta or their bias or abyss difficulty to the char, etc).
Although the data only shows the percentage and there are no numbers of usage, we can see the trends, we can see how preferable people use some characters in abyss. Of course many people have raiden than baizu, but if baizu have more percentage than raiden, it means people would likely to choose baizu in the abyss
Plenty of people don't own Gaming, most likely. I didn't, because why would I pick him for CNY, when I have no desire to play him? Of course, I do have him now, but that's because I got him off-banner (or from the standard banner... either way, low odds, but he turned up). That said, besides the C6 thing, he's also a four star DPS. Even people who have him at C6 are likely not to use him over another pyro, like, say, Arl.
Also, these usage rate things draw from a Chinese website, I believe. One that I don't think pulls directly from account info, or at least didn't originally. Meaning the data potentially isn't accurate for certain characters. Like I can easily see many people not inputting characters they don't have when they first input their stuff, that are also of limited usefulness. Characters like Kojou Sara and Gaming. If that is the case, their usage rate is likely lower than the numbers indicate. That said, this will mostly only be an issue for those low (Abyss) appeal four-stars.
@@Axterix13 bruh... Gaming is objectively an S-Tier dps. I've used him in every Abyss since his release at least once. Yes, even against the worms. Turns out small dps periods don't matter if you can deal 2mil dmg in 3 plunges. Proof is in my channel.
@@alexfromsolitude That's all well and good, but that's you. And I'd imagine you're probably running Xianyun with him, actually like his playstyle, aren't interested in using Arl or plunging with the likes of Navia isntead, and so on.
Added to that, I clear the Abyss every single time with my on-field Dehya team. Life is easy when you can ignore enemy mechanics, including just face-tanking 12-3 dancing duo, because nothing can kill you. That, however, doesn't make her S-tier, and even if it did, doesn't change that I'm an anomaly, one that not only plays on-field Dehya, but has her as the only pyro on the team (no anemo or hydro either).
A lot of things go into a character's popularity. Gaming, between playstyle and needed supports, will never be popular. And that's before even considering that limited resources means most people won't even want to invest in him to see what he can do, because other things are more appealing and there's a general lack of interesting content anyway, so you won't grow bored of those more appealing things before another more appealing thing comes along.
It's really cool to have that to play around with, it mostly confirm everything that we tend to hear from most theorycrafter.
Support have more value than Main DPS (pretty obvious since you can mostly only have 1 dps for 3 support but atleast now we have full data for this)
I guess that's also a way to see what is missing in the game to make so element relevant again
Supports almost never got powercrept unlike dpses. Its not like they can't. HSR did it
@@karsnogen8141 Well, I mean, we have Xianyun and Furina, so we definitely have had supports power creep. Problem is more how few characters Genshin has (compared to most gachas) and how lackluster their design team is. By that, I mean Kaz offers debuffing thanks to VV, buffing, and grouping, and as long as Hoyoverse doesn't open up grouping to non-anemos, he's unlikely to be bumped majorly, short of an anemo healer that has strong grouping. But because they make dumb choices, like limiting grouping to anemo or tying a stat to an element (which limits the potential of a def based team, because a def based team is a geo team, so a character like Gorou just limits team possibilities, rather than opening up new ones), they severely limit the potential of supports.
Plus while supports have more value, on-fielders tend to drive sales more, overall. That's what tends to give teams their different feel, while we'll use the same supports to back up those on-fielders. So Hoyoverse is more incentivized to give us yet another (on-field) DPS rather than a character that spends most of their time off-field.
Good info man. Just pulled my 7th Kaveh (all 7 from this banner haha)
And interesting conjecture that can be drawn with the data are:
1. Support tends to have a higher value than main dps one of the good reason would be in a party of 4 you need 1 main dps then 3 support characters which would equate with a higher need for characters that works outside of field time.
2. Meta is mostly defined by the patch we are in, in the nation of dendro the usage of dendro character has been bosted a lot then in the nation of Hydro, Hydro dominated it would be safe to assume in the nation of Pyro it would be Pyro characters taking the lead.
3. One possible reason for lower usage of main dps is the amount of hyped for people to pull them but not having investment to unleash their full potential. From my earlier point support have higher value but we can see as per data the usage of MAIN DPS character that declined has retain the certain point that it doesn’t go lower or higher which can mean in the long run the main dps that is not as meta are still useable for people to clear the abyss. We can interpret that vertically investing to the character you want would yield the same result than having too much characters that are not equally invested.
Finally with the Imaginarium theatre going forward we might see a more different trend of characters that would be deemed as favorable.
The reason Bennett had a downfall in 4.2 was because of hydro tulpa abyss

ive been a kazuha believer ever since his release and im proud of that hes been at the top for solong. asking for a kazuha replacement is kinda impossible even though we have furina now they both have different playstyle and i dont think she replaced him at all because i like both and i use both all the time!
I used the spreadsheet to confirm the complete and utter destruction of Cryo-Impact. After 4.0.1, no one above 40% usage.
Also found the Ayaka-Shenhe correlation too be way more related than Xiao-Xianyun. So much to the point that the percentages overlap 😆
I kind of wonder if there are still people who want to play Eula in the Abyss anymore. HoYo has only released one five stars physical focused character to date. Mika's release feels like a joke because his buff doesn't apply when Eula wants to finish her burst early, making her gameplay more RNG lol
well i still do and i'd rather stop playing the game than playing her which will happen soon if hoyo doesn't give her a proper team faat enough i've waited almost 4 years and nothing just a slap in the face with a healer mascarading as a support. its not even that its difficult for me to clear with her i have scholng with multiple top 1% builds on her its the misstreatment that im fed up with her current best team is 10% better than her team in 2.1 when there is xiao whose is 92% better . no good supports or sub dps just pacthwork anti synergistic teams.
Currently checking the spreadsheet and oh boy. My Ganyu fell. I wish a powerful support for Ganyu that is well suited for her charge atk gamestyle would be released in Natlan.
It's not really about that. It's just that the abysses haven't been in her favor recently + probably people don't like her gameplay style compared to others
Hopefully Natlan and especially Sneznhaya would bring a new life to Cryo.
@@RecordToDeathToBoredom Yeah yeah. I agree. As a ganyu main (top 1%), I haven't used her in the abyss for a very long time. I just wish I could use her again with excitement and a very well suited support for her would help a lot.
She needs a pryro applyer who buffs charged attack, which never is going to happen because the Neuvillette go buurrrrrrr (and I'm saying this as a Neuvillette main)
I still love my Ganyu, one-shot delete is still fun, but its true that Wrios punching style is easier to play and I also enjoy melee in genshin.
Sometimes I put 1* weapon and no artifacts on Wrio, Heizhou, Kirara and Rosaria and try to air juggle enemies Tekken style :)
I know the team comp sucks, but if you enjoy technical air juggling it can be great fun, especially with treasure hoarder human enemy models.
This chart is really interesting in seeing what effect certain character releases have on exististing charcters as well as how the abyss lineup affects our teams. However I prefer analysing characters based on appearance rate since usage rate doesn't take into account how many people have the characters.
For example Baizhu is not among the best grossing characters so his ownership rate is low compared to the top dogs. So even though his usage rate is 20% than for instance Raiden's, you can bet that a lot more people still use her compared to Baizhu but more people who have her maybe want to try out other characters after more than a year of Rational.
We're literally doing analysis about the Teyvat Stock Market Index aren't we.
Very interesting, and also very indicative: what is true for the whole community not necessarily applies to you personally. For example, in my everyday experience I use Furina much less than I use Kokomi. Furina is more like heavy artillery, it is not worth using her except when absolutely necessary, because the drawback is huge. She is less predictable, can't apply hydro on demand, drains your health when does damage, can't apply hydro while healing, require Sigewinne or other team-wide healer, all sorts of things. For example, doing domains with her always leaves me with dinged health unless I bring Kokomi or Sigewinne, or both.
Once i had Furina, I never use Kokomi thou, Jean or Baizhu ftw.
But this data is from abyss, not your daily teams
So its focused on damage and clear time
Doesnt matter if your characters have 1hp as long as its
It's kind of weird that your default healers to run with Furina are both hydro, and specifically that you identify Sigewinne as the #1 option.
If you look at the Abyss data sorted by Furina top teams, you will see very different defensive teammates which when drafted automatically eliminate most of your complaints. All of which to say, skill issue.
@@phoenixlau first, allow me to say this: I don't care about the Abyss data when I build my teams, Abyss or not. The only thing I care is how I like to play my battles. And I don't want to hear about my skill issues. I have much more interest in honing my actually useful skills, than practice button mashing. I play games for fun.
Second, Sigewinne seems natural for Furina because Furina takes HP from the whole team, and Sigewinne heals the whole team with her E. Perfect. The more consistent healing you get, the more damage your Furina team will dish out. Kokomi can do that too, but she needs her ult to do that, and her energy is a problem (not so much in hydro team, but still). I don't always use both of them in the same team, but sometimes I do, and it works for me.
@@atomotron you literally can run any other party wide healer other than Sigewinne. Jean exists, Baizhu obviously exists, and Charlotte released with Furina in 4.2. Hell a Furina with c2 works well even with single target healers making the premium 5 star hydro healer less relevant.
It is 100 percent a skill issue to default Siigewinne as bis
12:40 in patch 4.3 there was a Hydro Tupa boss so I think that's why bennett's usage rate fell down
Lyney's damage numbers are so insane when you get him built right. But due to there being so many great pyro DPS options and people not liking his bow playstyle the drop is usage makes sense. Personally he's been my favorite Fontaine DPS right next to Neuvi and Navia.
With main DPS characters - it's like they'll be popular until the next DPS is released.
The " I don't want to play with you anymore" meme seems super relevant here!
😂
Amazing! Tyvm 4 this data and work!
11:11 all main dps exactly align with the importance of the main story/lore kinda crazy
Its because they design the abyss to match the new main dps banner char and the banner dropps with main story. Its an advertisement tactic since the game is f2p but pay to have fun
Kokomi's rate after Furina's release is like her Crit Rate T T
What I find interesting is just how the charts really verify what everyone has been saying for so long, that investing in really good supports is much more important when it comes to longevity of account value. I’d like to see more. Like xingqiu. This video could have been even longer and I would’ve kept watching.
my two favored abyss teams right now are
nahida, nilou, neuvillette and baizhu
navia, furina, layla, xianyun
seriously. I know layla is copium, but i've failed the 50/50 for zhongli twice. she's good enough, and her freeze helps out (her damage isn't embarrassing at c6 either, frankly chiori does great dps but the shield layla brings just makes face tanking and plunge attacking with navia so much easier), these aren't god tier min/maxed teams. and right now 11.1 is the bane of my navia team's existance (i usually do the 11th floor with a raiden, bennett, chevvy and fischl team), but for 12th floor these teams clean house with ease.
I’m still impressed about how Charlotte sometimes can have a usage of over 10%
Teamwide healing with Furina.
Kinda like Baizhu carried by Neuvillette/Furina comps
she's one of the most underrated 4*s because of how Furina works. Like her kit was tailor made to be a Furina option. Even bis depending on if cryo is needed
I imagine DPS units use trending down is due to players wanting to play with the newest shiniest toy (I myself am guilty of this at times). Plus the percentages are based on people who have the character using them, so if you are pulling for the new shiny character you are going to want to use them over your old DPS, at least for the short term when content in generally catered around the new units.
top 3 until top 8 is the must pull character. It shows how stable the percentage over many patch in abyss. I dont put raiden on the list, because her trends are going down
Tbf, for main dps, it is about the enemy compatibility with the characters. Abyss, not surprisingly, matches the characters in the recent banners. I was able to clear just fine the 1st halves of the recent abyss 12 (both with nahida and kazuha as power boosts). It's a rotating end game content that forces you to use other characters next time (you wouldn't fight an electro resistant character with raiden now, would you?).
Point taken that support characters are always relevant, especially if they are unique at what they do and are effective.
@@rffm1879 correct, there are many factors. To put simple:
1. Meta > waifu for overall percentage caused by many factors
2. new char > old char, because it cause the profit of hoyoverse (monstad
Must admit I didn't not expect the dendro meta to be this strong still. Quite happy with that due to enjoying the element, mind.
The first tier is literally my team except its venti in place of kazuha. Clorinde needed kazuha to hit hard
Mihoyo slapped a ton of cryo shields in Abyss to discourage Neuvillette use, but all they managed to achieve was pushing Ayaka off meta instead. Kokomi is played in Ayaka freeze, so when Ayaka’s usage tanked, so did Kokomi’s too, imho.
That is not fully true. Current abyss has a lot of bosses and you need to freeze to fully use ayaka. Bosss cannot be frozen so bye bye crit rate from blizzard slayer, plus ayaka burst goes forward so enemies not frozen and move out.
Bottomline, yeah ayaka is pretty shitty to use now and kokomi too
Bosses CAN be frozen. They won't stop moving but they'll still count as frozen for BS @Aritro23
@@alexandrelevesquebouchard7165 but you lose the aura so blizzard passive doesn't activate losing you a lot of crit rate... kqm or zajeff or iwtl, i dont exactly remember most probably zajeff demoed this .

Bennett usage rate went down in 4.2 because of Neuvillette release and with Hyperbloom as 2nd team there were less need for Atk buffs.
And Bennett usage rate went up again in 4.6 with release of Arlecchino of course...
Jean made a huge comeback for me once I pulled furina. Somehow I’ve been blessed / cursed to have a c6 Jean and my strongest team is raiden, furina, Yelan and Jean.
Crazy that old characters like kazhua and zhongli are still used so high
they have such good kits. kazuha being good when you need an anemo (most teams) and rock dad for universal res and best shield
I made a spreadsheet based on this that sorts by matchup, but it looks like I can't post links here.
Essentially each character averages their pick rate across abysses including the same enemy.
With sheets that sort by character or by enemy, I can say things like:
Albedo's highest pick rate was for Golden Wolflord. (25.13%)
However, the character most picked for the abysses containing Golden Wolflord was Bennett (87.9%).
There are 2 main issues with it though:
1: It can't tell which side of the abyss the character was chosen for.
2: It is biased towards popular characters
If it got extra data for what is buffed during that patch , and make a master for it, example bloom , fire, etc it would be deeper analysis to know what kind of buff benefit certain character ... anyway thanks iwtl for this data.. gonna save a copy 🎉
wriothesley is used this much without a team because we all agree his core supports still don't exist, like you can force him into lots of teams BUT all he really needs is pyro furina, like really, no jokes just a pyro furina and he's the best dps of the game with a proper buffer who doesn't interrupt his attacking combos with heals like bennett and applies pyro for him to melt. if only bennett didn't heal he would be already good for him... they put wrio in game too early im sure either natlan with favor him or snezhnaya because both pyro and cryo can easily elevate him. but I'm prepared for genshin devs to maybe not care about him anymore, it's not like he's the first ever dps to be forgotten by them but I'll still play him in all possible teams, he's my main #1
Pretty interesting vid thanks for your work 🐱
Thanks for the crash course on data analysis in excel!
Will there be an Yunli guide? And if not, a Jiaoqiu guide?
Use Yunli in the place of Clara?
Arlechinno being so low so fast is crazy...
It’s weird because she’s literally top 3 dps in the game
She is hard to play! It makes sense!
@@shachede6828 how is she hard to play lol
While I do think she will drop off, due to the comfort factor, I don't think it is nearly soon enough to actually make that call.
Enemy line-up has a big impact on the Abyss and right now, look at what we have. On the top half, we have Magu Kenki, who can hit hard which could lead to people wanting a character that stays at higher health, and ASIMON , which encourages people to play electro and probably dendro. On the bottom half, lots of pyro shielders, including a pair of pyro lectors.
@@tehCostHD Not being able to heal ? Do you realise that taking x1.5 damages on bennet circle because of self pyro is only sustainable because of how fast he heals you back full ? Arlecchino cannot heal so she is just shredded if she doesn't manage to win fast enough. That flaw will be her doom once the next toptier pyro will come out
Furina’s impact indeed
WOW so much efforts , i love this type of informative videos , after what happened to neuvillette i think owning characters you love will turn out to be better than going for strong characters , many 5 stars that were HELLA strong upon release became Hard to play with now so i think its more like "who's next" , this definitely is done purposefully to sell characters then idk why they become hard to play and their dmg /buff would seem useless UNLESS you love the character and have fun playing
My first takeaway from this list: Arle players are bad. She trivializes basically any Abyss floors and doesn't even need much in the way of support to perform well. Yet she dropped right after her banner. I can only assume that most of those people were in over their heads doing more than holding attack for 20 seconds.
Okay, but salt aside: this list is very interesting. I'll check it out when I have the time to really dive into it, but I commend your effort here, bro!
As someone who plays Hu Tao every cycle yeah the newer abyss don't like pyro characters as much these days especial the 4.7 patch with Sigewinne, 2nd half favors hydro and electro the most, cryo also but not as much as the other 2. Pyro is completely useless on 2nd side and 1st is the only side for anyone, Cyno keeps failing because he needs dendro but Baizhu is the only one who can retrigger dendro when he's in his burst state because of the waves of enemies.
Bennet likely fell off because Neuvilette doesn't care about bennet, and now only one half of the teams may even want to consider him.
This data would be accurate if everyone had the same roster. Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is display funny graphs
I 36 starred the abyss for the 2nd time. This time I used Wrio, sucrose, xiangling, bennett on top half & Neuvi, furina, jean, fischl on bottom half.
me proud Lyney main who constantly used him in abyss 🎩🌷🐈⬛🎉🎭☕️🎊
Thanks!!
I had to give up on Jean Sunfire's team bc of the Pyro lectors. I don't have Furi and Neuvi since I have almost every Hydro Unite I skipped them and still can 36 today with no regrets. Thanks to my Yelan :)
Nahida-Kuki-Yelan-X team always worked well for me. I used to put any DPS with bennet-xianglin-kazu for the second part. Navia and Wrio also worked till 4.7 for the second team. But I had to change them into nahida-chlorinde-kuki-koko/kazu & arli-yelan-xinqui-bennet.
Ahh also have c1 scara and c0 childe. I would love to give them away if anyone wants😂
(i have pity feelings for my ganyu)
Is the Usage-rate connected to the ownership? It feels very much so... would explain the low usage rate of 4 stars compared to their 5 star counterparts (Yelan and Xingqiu).
should be fun. thx for providing the data
I remember seeing info on teams back in morgana days. Idk if that was usage or top clears, but maybe you know what that was and if that info is still available for today's abyss.
I learned I am not color blind. Thank you!
I think the abyss showing really is just a reflection of how good the cycle favors a character. Not necessarily how good they are. For example, Yoimiya being low as well as Lyney and Cyno. The only awful character with those 3 is Cyno. Pyro isn't very good because its a hydro character's dream with abyss for now.
Also Bennett dipped far down because Furina released and unless you had c2, Bennett was not a great option for her. He only ever gained relevance because of Arlecchino and Navia.
i enjoy genshin statistics more than i thought
I haven't 36 stars the last 2 Abyss.
I don't retry floors, and I got 38 stars because of that 12.1
35*
I did not learn anything from this video but I watched the whole thing
Super interesting!
The one thing that still bothers me about all abyss data though, is that it can't account for people who don't have these characters.
Sure, 80%+ of people who have Neuv use him, but I don't have him.
And I can't think of a way to incorporate the "never havers" as a data point to counter balance characters that dominate usage like this.
You can filter the same data for raw appearance rate rather than usage rate, but IMO appearance rate is not particularly meaningful.
I am pulling for kazuha wish me good luck 😊

No not really. It was specifically because of Furina. Wanderer just had the unintended benefit of Jean's c4 working with Furina's damage buffs
