I was there in San Francisco in July of 89 my first time visiting The City. It was hard to imagine anything happening to the most beautiful and breathtaking area in the entire country! I went back East for my sophomore year in undergraduate school and a girl I dated at the time ran into the college library were I was working and told me about the quake from watching the World Series! I couldn’t reach my friend who lived in Sacramento for like 2 weeks! Many mixed emotions as I watch this video and the profound sadness I felt about that marvelous city! But also encouraged by the bravery shown by all citizens to help out! God bless San Francisco!

Whoever thinks about building a skyscraper complex nearby the San Francisco Zoo needs to watch this video BEFORE thinking about designing it.

Lived though the February 9th 1971, Sylmar earthquake and I believe that that one was a 6.6 or a 6.8. But I can't remember, it's been a long time ago. And I will be 62 this year so my memory isn't the best. I was 8 and a half at the time.

I commend the state govt and the locals for not taking it lightly about the possibilities of a magnitude 7.0+ earthquake which is very likely to happen and the fact that areas with major structures underlying a major fault system are reinforced and some are completely abandoned and accept that you are not gonna win over that fault system constantly moving side by side and destroys structures even without earthquake yet.

45% of this video is about that new Bay bridge. I'm on the fence if this should get a negative rating ( thumbs down ).

Before Asians and Indians took over this once stunning city. A beautiful bygone era.
