Grubby one of the things I have really enjoyed about the mechabellum run is that you have quietly shown people exactly how to learn a new game; not by fixating on received wisdom and rules that come from "better players" (who - when you start - is everybody, but all those players have mostly false knowledge), but by simply experimenting and being open to what actually happens.
The idea that it is ok to make rules or try things that may be wrong and then going through the process of observing and setting your own criteria for how and why you do or change things is the most important element in learning something like this. But having rules you can use instead of the uncertainty of genuine testing feels safer; I would like to imagine that some of your viewers who were telling you lots of clearly false things early on with great confidence might take a step back and reflect on why you have ended up much better at the game than them...!

There is a third option regarding that donators issue:
Change your mindset. WHY are you miserable? WHAT is preventing you from having fun? WHERE are the pain points? HOW can you improve your experience? (All the same question, I know) Is it something external? If so, can you omit it? Get rid of it? Ignore it? Is it maybe something internal? Can you change your line of thinking, your point of view?
    For example:
    - I am miserable because I keep losing! -> You will always lose some games, that is your lot in life. Learn to cope with losing and how to have fun in lost games. Try to better yourself or play with people you are comfortable playing with.
    - I am miserable because people are mean! - Mute the chat or grow a thicker skin. Try to counter them with positive attitude (it works a suprising amount of time for me!). Or again, look for comfortable people to play with.
    - I am miserable because the game doesn't work for me! - Like, it takes too much time, is too complicated, too fast, internet sucks or any other mechanical reason. Realize that sometimes things change and clinging to a bad habit, as Grubby said, will not do you any good. Let go of things that you cannot change. You will not break through that wall with stubbornness.
    - I am miserable because I don't get the cosmetics I want! - Learn to live without. It is okay to not have something. Appreciate it exists and enjoy it when another player brings it into the game.
    - I am miserable because they nerfed my hero! - It is always wise to not hinge your experience on a single hero/unit, as balance changes can always happen. Try to enjoy the broader game, play some heros you don't like, maybe you will learn to love them.
    And so on.

The great thing about this game is that even if you're playing on a toaster, fps doesn't really matter when you can't do anything during the fight anyways. Same with ping, doesn't matter

Hey Grubby , about this Dota 2 thing have the same problem...well at 4.5k MMR , I just uninstalled dota and asked a friend to limit my Download Speed to 200kb/s with a password. So to install it again I will need like 15 or 20 days and that worked fine. As we say - get a life , talk with people , watch some gameshows , cut the cancer , 11k hours in Dota 2. Half of the time well spend , the other half - blaming Eastern Europe trolls

If you have additional deployment is it better to max outt deployments and try to solve problems with units, or do you still try and solve problems with techs?

LOL grubby. I think you helped the guy. You accurately explained why he was addicted. I think that surely helped him. If you're enjoyment level is under 50%, you need to stop, but you're too good, its like a job, league and dota will do that, if you stop its sacrilege to all the time WASTED previously playing. The video game "wall" I hit it when I was 22, sad day. Have only watched since.

New player here. Starting to (~1 match in 2) beat the 'insane' bot opponent consistently. Time to graduate to humans? Or get the win rate up some more...maybe 2 in 3 or 4 in 5?
Fave unit so far is the humble little crawler. Watching those lil' fellas zerg stuff is just the stuff of beauty.
