Great lesson Wes!!! So, just to check out if I got that right: - Both homonyms and homophnes have the same pronunciation and different meaning. - Homonyms have the same spelling and homophones have different spelling.
I should have known all but a few homonyms didn't emerge from my memory. It reminds me the years when I could speak and write and understand English better. It was a cool lesson, nobody could have done better.
You are wonderful, great teacher I'm from el Salvador living in California and you have helped me improve my English expressions and slang thank you plus you guys have a good vibes!
I really got confused.the first question at its end : how many didn't. I was like 😧 didn't what😂 . Then I realized that the trick was in the word : ate it's not (8) 😂😂 I really appreciate your efforts and your work👏👍
We are in the same boat haha! I thought he said "there are thirty cows in a field and twenty EIGHT chickens" haha! I really loved this lesson. It's very important to learn these homonyms and homophones.
Thanks for commenting. The pronunciation is similar but a little different. The word "taxed" has the short A sound whereas "text" has the short E sound. 👍
@@InteractiveEng Oh, thank you very much for this explanation. You see, that's when germans try to speak english! 😉 You are a great teacher, have a wonderful day! 👍
I loved this lesson by heart! It's vital to learn about homonyms and homophones. So please keep leading us to improve our listening skills. God bless your work.
Hi Wes I'm a new subscriber in the channel and thank you very much, you don't know how much I learned from your lesson 👌👌 Keep going 👍 Greetings from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🇸🇦
Very nice class. Next time how about one regarding homographs like READ in present & past tense. Even though there aren't as many, it would be interesting. Regards from ✌enezuela
Hi Wes ! Thanks for this interesting lesson. I’ve learned some new vocabulary. To be honest I didn’t do well with questions but at the same time it allowed me to learn so new vocabulary like idle, bat, not the baseball but this one 🦇, the well for water and also the difference between homophones and homonyms I thought it was the same. It’s been very useful. Simple question: in order to become fluent and to improve my speaking and listening comprehension with natives, can you tell me which skill is better to improve first, collocations or phrasal verbs. I tend to think collocations are more important at first to catch natives conversation, they use it all the time even if phrasal verbs is vocabulary we use all the time either. Have a good one ! Steve
Hey wes! how is every thing & how is your family? I have a question about the word sneaky I heard that we mostly use it with kids not adults is that true?
Hi Mustafa. We're doing well. I think "sneaky" could be used with either children or adults. Perhaps mostly it used when talking about children, but it could be used with either. 👍
Hello Teacher Wes! In the session Know your Homonyms, ..."tail" and "tale" are homophones not homonyms. Please review it. Thank you Teacher Wes, my adorable Teacher.
Gustav couldn't but Stefan, his brother-in-law, did. He knows advanced English for a reason: he's a police officer in Germany and finds he needs to know advanced English. People like to pretend they don't know how to communicate when they're being questioned in connection to any kind of crime.
Homophones one - won wear - where know - no which - witch sweet - suite hear - here wait - weight muscle - mussel sun - son key - quay Right - write I'm right
