A further parable being drawn from how WoW was the beginning of game devs entirely forgoing ever giving a shit again, and you have yourself the entire history of the game decline from WoW to Greenlight/Patreon.
I don't agree with terraria being a cash grab, its a pretty fun game and the mods the community makes for the game are really good. But thats just me /shrug

Terraria was to my knowledge a little hangout game the devs made for themselves that people demanded be made into a full game.
