When we program workouts for clients, or make our own videos we try to stick to just what ppl can do at home. So this series has been great for ideas. Thanks Jeff! Now the key question: best way to hit back or biceps if you don't even have dumbbells.
i just wanted to say thank you Jeff. i started watching your videos 15months ago. since then i have lost 12% body fat and i am now fitter than i have ever been. you have inspired me to train so much that i have also done a few courses and I am now a personal trainer myself. i now spend my life helping people turn their lives around like you helped me. again thank you very much for everything. i owe you a lot 👍☺
You know when you are watching an AthleneX video when you have to replay the video because you were distracted AF by Jeff’s arms looking bigger than Bane’s arms even when he’s on juice mode.
You’ve changed the whole game for me. Reframed, restructured, and effective. What a gift you are to TH-cam - standing head and shoulders above all the others. You give your viewers credit of having a brain which is why you’re a legend.
Another great, informative, demonstrative video. I have recently developed a biceps exercise using a dumbell. Since I have shoulder injuries, that is one of the reasons I perform it; I'll explain later. I call the biceps exercise the leaning dumbbell curl whereby I lean forward a little, hold unto a post or wall, and my leg that extends backward is up against a block of wood so that I am not always stretching out my calf because the concentration should be on this biceps exercise. Then I curl the dumbbell upwards. In an important training article by George Turner in Iron Man magazine written, and published in the late 1990s, he reveals that besides sublixation (I forgot how it is spelled, a doctor had confirmed my case), an impingement of the shoulder joint; that in some cases it could be a misaligned biceps tendon that connects up very close to the shoulder. A doctor very long ago said that I may have suffered from scar tissue that is causing this slight misalignment that seems to [in italics] disappear when I contract my arms; for the most part even when I shrug my shoulders up and down. Who knows I may have one or all three ailments. Anyhow, I want to thank you, Jeff for these training videos. Keep up the excellent work.
The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me th-cam.com/users/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.
You've transformed my workout entirely. Thanks for all the awesome videos! I'm going to studying exercise science in college as a result of your channel. Keep it up!
You are one of the main reasons I started to work out Jeff and lose weight thank you very much I’ll add these exercises into my workout, without a doubt the best fitness channel on TH-cam others don’t even come close.
This recommendation for elbow longevity is perfect. Right now I'm dealing with a annoying epitrocleitis (golfer's elbow) in both of my arms. Thanks for the info!
ahmed ghare rest days(without those muscles can’t grow and expand), intense workouts , eat a lot (make sure you intake a good amount of protein) and over the course of time this should build your muscle nicely
@ahmed ghare rest days , push pull legs hypertrophy and eat a balanced diet, with enough protein and carbs, but to gain muscle, eat more about 300-400 more calories than your maintainance calories which is your weight in kg times my 17-20
Great series, keep them coming! All I have is dumbells at home and have been looking at all you videos trying to figure out what would be the best exercises with dumbells since there's so much you can do with dumbells. It's like you read my mind. Thanks Jeff!
What Jeff spoke on about the medial elbow is no joke. I started my journey at the gym last summer, and after 3 months I developed an elbow injury from a combination of sports and poor form while working my arms. I've had chronic medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) since September, and have been off all athletics since then. I'm now just getting back into the gym and putting a lot of attention on my forearms and grip strength, which my elbow is thanking me for. Lesson definitely learned. Listen to Jeff, and don't skip the Corrective stuff.
Here's an interesting one for you: Back in my early elementary school days, I broke my left arm. Being right-handed and having little to no permitted use of my left for around a year, I naturally became very dominant on my right hand, with my left being all but forgotten about. Unfortunately, years of not training and simply relying on my right side almost exclusively, has left my left arm weak, and especially, my bicep flatter, smaller, and far less shapely than my right. What would be the best way to go about trying to get the near-forgotten arm to the shape of the right? Training with more weight on the left? Dedicating left-only days? Doing a few extra reps on the left when possible? What are the better and worse options?
Jeff can you do a video about Scoliosis? I love your videos thank you, it helped alot in the past few months even if I had difficulties, I lost alot of bpdy fat and gained muscle with your training and nutrition tips.
@@iforgothowtotype I was diagnosed 4 years ago, had a 13 degree curve and I was Obese, now im at normal BMI and all of that thanks to Jeff. Ive been through it, but its gonna be alright, Ive had it but now I feel like im at my best and still reaching peak performance
Never get used to the _"More than one way to skin a cat"_ Also ,I wanna know if Jeff can really read minds because he really hits me with these exactly on the correct days
These dumbbell workouts have been great because where I am deployed for the Army, all we have currently is some adjusting weight dumbbells!! Thanks for the assistance!!
Love this series. A lot of us can't afford (time/money) to go to a gym, and all we have are a few dumbbells at home. It won't give us the best results, but hey, it's better than nothing, right?
Steam rooms and hot tubs both have tons of chlorine in the water and in gas form that you're breathing in. I don't think that's good for anyone, but it's up to you. I know I react strongly to chlorine and it's terrible for me. I'd stick with dry saunas unless your water source is chlorine or chloramine free.
Thanks bro I’ll try each of these Exercises do you recommend compound movements and then isolation exercises or the other way around... please do a video explaining this and explaining how to build strength with each exercise
I know it may seem as a stupid question but what are the purposes of hypertrophy, power, and strength training? When should someone train for each one?
Hypertrophy is for muscle gains, power is well for power, you build power with explosive exercises which you can apply to exercises such as push ups or pull ups, strength is built when you go super heavy (you build strength with hypertrophy but it's not really the same) 2-5 reps If you doing for example running you should focus on cardio, if you are a calisthenics person you should train with power/explosion and a mix of strength/hypertrophy if you are a powerlifter you focus mainly on strength. Hypertrophy is basically muscle building which you get both from strength training, power training etc but there is a bit of a difference
Thank you so much for this, i have been training since 16(now 26) and have been experiencing elbow and forearm pain for several months, your videos has helped me out a bunch regarding stability and corrective training. REALLY appreciate it, and thank you once again.

Keep it up!

Best person on TH-cam best best contact best person to explain the way he explains thank you brother
This recommendation for elbow longevity is perfect. Right now I'm dealing with a annoying epitrocleitis (golfer's elbow) in both of my arms. Thanks for the info!

Most legit and trustworthy fitness coach. How many sets do we do for each exercise? Anybody know?
Jeff is so amazing for spreading all this knowledge. A true hero indeed.
I gained 15 lbs of muscle thanks to this amazing man 😎😁
ahmed ghare rest days(without those muscles can’t grow and expand), intense workouts , eat a lot (make sure you intake a good amount of protein) and over the course of time this should build your muscle nicely
Me too on my cock
@ahmed ghare rest days , push pull legs hypertrophy and eat a balanced diet, with enough protein and carbs, but to gain muscle, eat more about 300-400 more calories than your maintainance calories which is your weight in kg times my 17-20
And today I had mcDonalds and a doughnut....
TimetoMove how long did it take you

I swear every upload I see a new vein appear on Jeff’s body that I haven’t seen before. Terrifyingly vascular.
Didn't win the giveaway, maybe if I do more facepulls I'll win...

Jeff needs to tell me I'm breathing all wrong and I'll still give the video a like.
Here's an interesting one for you:
Back in my early elementary school days, I broke my left arm.
What are the better and worse options?
your videos are incredible. and the depth you go into helping others. absolute legend.
Legend has it that Jeff winks twice, different eye both times to prevent muscle imbalanc

Jeff can you do a video about Scoliosis? I love your videos thank you, it helped alot in the past few months even if I had difficulties, I lost alot of bpdy fat and gained muscle with your training and nutrition tips.
I just got diagnosed with it a few days ago. It's really soul crushing

Jeff is a visionary. He knew it all that gyms will be closed . So, he made these videos to enable us to train with dumbells at home.
Never get used to the _"More than one way to skin a cat"_
Also ,I wanna know if Jeff can really read minds because he really hits me with these exactly on the correct days
The mind is a muscle. You know Jeff hits that hard AF.
You’re doing something and that’s what matters, anything is better than couch and pizza and no workout.
You rock I've been following your workouts and I made some dramatic changes!!!
Hayssam bzal I really can’t keep up with him exercise/weight lifting wise but he’s a wonderful motivator! Like a very buff tony robbins 😀

Jesse: Hey Jeff what bicep exercises are we doing today?
Jeff: Yes
Jeff's biceps deserve an instagram page
I was wondering about the pros and cons of using hot tubs, steam or dry saunas.
Shane Heideman wrong channel, try joe rogan’s
Only pro is when there’s boobs in em👌🏼
Steam rooms and hot tubs both have tons of chlorine in the water and in gas form that you're breathing in. I don't think that's good for anyone, but it's up to you. I know I react strongly to chlorine and it's terrible for me. I'd stick with dry saunas unless your water source is chlorine or chloramine free.
That incline to sitting up straight to bending down curl is GENIUS! I will do that next workout
Recently bought some heavier dumbbells so this series is perfect timing on my end.
Jeff's keyboard is glued under the desk so that he can type with proper form and avoid internal rotation of the shoulders
Oh yes PLEASE!
Thanks bro I’ll try each of these Exercises do you recommend compound movements and then isolation exercises or the other way around... please do a video explaining this and explaining how to build strength with each exercise
I can already tell you he'd say both.
I know it may seem as a stupid question but what are the purposes of hypertrophy, power, and strength training? When should someone train for each one?
Hypertrophy is for muscle gains, power is well for power, you build power with explosive exercises which you can apply to exercises such as push ups or pull ups, strength is built when you go super heavy (you build strength with hypertrophy but it's not really the same) 2-5 reps
If you doing for example running you should focus on cardio, if you are a calisthenics person you should train with power/explosion and a mix of strength/hypertrophy if you are a powerlifter you focus mainly on strength.
Hypertrophy is basically muscle building which you get both from strength training, power training etc but there is a bit of a difference
