    The level of sportsmanship shown by the male speed climbers was downright heartwarming.

      Hey, Adam! Oh, I couldn't agree more!! The overall sportsmanship that is common to see in competition climbing is really great to have👍🏻👍🏻

      Pretty wild, right!! 5-6 seconds races... the fastest vertical sporting event 😁 Thanks so much for your comment 👍🏻👍🏻

    Can I ask maybe a dumb question? In speed climbing, why do they pair the 1st and 14th, 2nd and 13th, etc? Seems obvious that the 1st will most likely always beat the 14th. This was the first time I watched speed climbing and I was curious why they do that.

      It’s similar to a sports playoff bracket. It’s a way to “reward” the climbers who are seeded higher from their performances. Otherwise there would be no advantage to the better performing climbers

    • @augustclimbing
      @augustclimbing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, that's a good question, and I think a great answer already from Austin. I would add that it also is designed to get the fastest climbers into the quarters, semis, and ultimately the final. If 1st seed goes up against the 2nd seeded athlete right away, that means that one of the two very best athletes will be going home at the early stages of the competition. Keep the questions coming 🙂

      @augustclimbing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@alexinvianto that’s so amazing that each high school there has a climbing wall. Now I can see why there are such great climbers coming from Indonesia! And yes, I would love to see an Indonesian athlete compete in boulder & lead in ‘28 👍🏻👍🏻
