After watching your rebuild on the Snowcat transmission, there is nothing that you can’t fix! And yes, those tires are HEAVY.....I swapped out a flat 14R20 for a spare, ended up buying a tire Jack after that. Great channel, thank you for posting!
Hi Sean I hope Willow and you are warm and well! I hope those seals help with the hub oil leak. I'm watching the air compressor video now that's a lot of work but it will pay off while your both pout and about this summer. That air dryer cartridge was a mess. I know you replaced that steering box before what a pain. Take care Don
Was there any oil streaks, light that they may be, on the tire? Maybe my imagination, but I thought I saw something there. I've got to do my brakes, just to get that out of the way... I still have no issue with the hubs. Oil remains level. Here is one thing I should mention... when I fill my hubs, I place the filler port at the 4 o'clock position. One of the hubs (can't remember which one) oddly took more oil than the other. I'm not sure it is supposed to or not, but that is how I fill my hubs. Using oil safe for yellow metal is also a plus in this area. Great work, as usual!
I have a question regarding owning one of these vehicles. How are people getting liability insurance for them? I want to get the 6x6 version but can’t find insurance.
The reason the oil stays in that portion of the hub is because the seal for the ctis prevents it from going into your ctis system. The front half is oil and the rear half is greased

I feel like we should all at least make an attempt to learn these things no matter our age. Thanks for tuning in!
Looked like fun! Going to have to try that shovel trick one day instead of my tire spoons!
Steel handled shovel is a lifesaver!

That was complex. Just subscribed!
I agree. The fronts were in such great shape I have not done the rears yet. Maybe next spring I will do those.
Truck is looking good.
Thank you Rickey!

No oil streaks. We shall see if the oil level changes now with the new seals...
Do you not need to oil/grease the panetaries?
Was there any rust pits on the axle housing where the CTIS seal ride?
No. Just the black stripes where they ride..
Good video but I'd like to see more detail on the wedge maintenance - maybe when you do the rear?

I wonder if it’s a heat thing like an engine burning oil just a thought thanks for sharing!
When I check hub temps they are always normal even when this particular hub gets low....
Is it leaking into the differential?
There is no pathway that I know of into the differential on the front axle... Do you know of a pathway???
Still have the truck? I work on these daily as a civilian mechanic for the army. Fun stuff
Of course. He is a lifetime companion for our adventures.

Progressive commercial insures Stewart and Stevenson and OshKosh trucks...

Are those the improved Harbor Freight jackstands?
I hope not...I need a way out of this place....
Fast forward was too fast during tear down and shim check. I could not learn anything from the flash.

@@SeanFillner Great thanks. Did not know that channel existed.
Sorry, disregard that comment 😅
