- Today we will be reviewing the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Rebirth General Zod action figure. Dru-Zod is one of the Best Superman antagonists so it's great to have a figure of him in his New52/Rebirth era duds.

Why don't we have Brainiac, Parasite, Cyborg Superman, Val Zod, Eradicator, Metallo, and Steel?
For a design like this, I really want Mcfarlane Toys to stop gluing certain things like the capes to the body. Clearly those shoulder pads need to be on hinges.
I can't decide if the forearms are too long with tiny hands or if they shows how thick the armor is as it's like a space suit vs a skin tight battle armor.
I like to see the more skin tight suits he's used just because I like the MOS esque black suit approach.
For a long time Zod wasn't a main opponent. He's just a very famous minor bad guy elevated due to Superman 2.
He's never been in an animation due to rights issues.
He's did pop up in Smallville/Krypton(gone too soon)/Supergirl/MOS but in radically different ways.
Comics wise we had a ton of Zod's but didn't get a consistent one until One Year Later and then new52.
I got that for my Superman collection!✊✊✊✊

He needs an angry heat vision eye variant
I have 1 nit pick with this figure that sticks out to me and 1 great aspect that sticks out as well: 1st his arm/forearms are too long. Is it just me? It makes him look like he has gorilla arms and makes his hands look smaller than they are. 2. I love the way McFarlane hid the ball joints without hindering the range of movement. All in all, I wasn't planning on picking him up ... but after this review, and others, I've changed my mind. Gread job Brad :)
Remove the head from this figure and place it on the McFarlane Dread Pirate Roberts from the Princess Bride, and you have a pretty good 70's Christopher Reeves General Zod from Superman the Movie and Superman II.
Just picked him up today (Nov 2023) at my Walgreens for $10.00 I just had to kneel for that price!
Zod looks bored lol. I think he needed a different expression. An angry, menacing expression.

When they released all those batman figures about two weeks ago Walmart had him for $15.85 for some reason.
I have zero connection to Zod or this version of him... but goddamn I kinda need to get this for a 40k Inquisitor custom o_o

My General Zod Figure looks like his Right foot is a odd shape. Im not sure if it's just the way it's molded or if the factory put 2 left feet on both legs. Does your Figures right leg look like the foots shaped weird or a left foot on it ???
it drives me crazy that they gave him Terence Stamp's bored, aloof, inert facial expression, but the comic's rage-fueled, bestial everything-else. i'd have loved a Stamp Zod!
An angry face Zod might have been better. He looks to stoic in this one. I'll probably list him down as "probably will get but not a priority".
Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't notice the Terrence Stamp resemblance. I'm copping him off of Amazon later today. If I discover a suitable head swap, angry face alternative I'll hit you back.
His hands fall off a bit too easy..
His arms seem way to long. Then I saw the shoulder come off and it's obvious the shoulder sits to low and the neck way to high and is way to damn long. His anatomy and proportions are all wrong Plus It's beyond frustrating most of McFarlane DC figures don't exactly scale with each other. The new batman is a different scale and lex Luthor is way to tall. Like it's all over the place.
