I still remember the first episode of Final Bosman on GT and thinking "who the hell is this, he's awesome." And all these years later, Kyle's still doing cool stuff.
He came out of the gate swinging with that first episode making me become a fan instantly. I remember being so excited when gametrailers greenlit his show as a weekly series. I love Delayed Input, but Final Bosman was on another level.
I came for Kyle and am so thankful for asking some of the questions I’ve been wondering in the beginning, but I’m really falling for Jake, love the humility and willingness to learn and ask questions. This is cool.
I still pray Kyle will one day come back to save the Easy Allies podcast. Used to be one of the best Videogame podcasts on the internet before he left and hasn’t been the same since.

Love seeing these two interact. I quickly picked up on Jake's energy when he started doing his pokemon sv livestreams and have enjoyed his insights ever since. Now, it has clicked for me to see how similar these two are in their approach to entertainment and discussion. I've been big fan of Kyle for a long time and would love to see what Jake can create in a similar type of medium. Looking forward to it.

By the way, there is another free Spiderman movie tie-in VR game that is MUCH better than the Homecoming one. If you can check out the Far From Home game on Steam - it actually lets you swing around New York and fight a boss. If you have the Index controllers you actually shoot webs via the iconic middle & ring finger palm press.
Since Superman is Jake's favourite fictional character. It kinda makes me wonder if he watched both Superman vs. Goku episodes of DEATH BATTLE. Because I would love to see him react to both episodes.
Camp is fine, but it has to be made apparent that’s the direction they’re going for (as opposed to jokes that fail), and should probably be reflected in the art style too. If it looks gritty but all the characters are goofy, it’s hard to buy into. I think that only works (gritty world, goofy characters) if the protagonist is the outlier, while the other characters reflect that world. Because then they protagonist has something to bounce off of. Having the Bat Family playable is a good concept, and maybe in some instance making them goofy could work… but as the first/only game like that, people are gonna be turned off because they are more serious characters and that’s what people would expect.
Kyle hits on something really important near the end there, and the fact is that you, Jake, have given me another reason to come to Gamexplain, because you are actually someone whose take I like to hear. I am just SO here for the way that you've reacted to all the fake Nintendo leaks that you've had to report on in the last year, it's been such a breath of fresh air in what's otherwise just a sea of parroting clickbait.
Excellent discussion but guys...have you played Nintendo games? They almost never do the same thing twice. How easy would it have been to make Super Mario 64 2 set in Bowser's castle? Nope let's do this weird ass Mario Sunshine instead. How easy would it have been to make OoT 2? They literally reused the same engine and made Majora's Mask, a game starkly different from OoT. With a few exceptions like Galaxy 2 and Twilight Princess, Mario and Zelda games are constantly changing their formulas and subverting expectations. I have zero worries that Tears of the Kingdom will be just more of Breath of the Wild.
Man, have to admit I could have gone the whole discussion listening to Jake and Kyle talk about GoWR. I'm more on Jake's side on how I feel about the game, so having him bounce his thoughts off someone like Kyle and actually convey them well was a little vindicating. GoWR being "pretty good" after 2018's high marks I'd still say is a relative huge disappointment.

This year was great for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. They all had some pretty good exclusives.
