Why did the Russian got to be on top twice of the par terre twice in the second round, at 3:35 and 4:18? I thought each wrestler got to be on top once per round.

Dear gentlemen: the referee was a bit partial with the Russian wrestler, however the Russian was better.
The UKRANIAN had grabbed the Russian leg, obstructing him to score.....
And at the end the Russia executed a wanderfull supple.... Scoring 3 points!!!!!

im a wrestler myself, so i understand the kind of training these guys go through as wrestlers... i understand on some level, that to compete on such level, their training must be at least be triple as mine... how on earth these guys, get tired and lose their breathe in a six minute match is beyond me!
Six minutes mostly of brute strength opposing one another. Literally trying your hardest to pick up and slam an opponent (constantly wrestling against the pull) again and again. Greco-Roman is one where strength matters(unlike jiu-jitsu) Plus it's only upper body based. This is what I would think. I may be off track
@@honestexpression6393 It's not brute strength. And BJJ also relies on strength every physical activity does. Technique is an effective way to apply strength not a replacement of it. Without enough strength (e.g.when fighting against someone 2x stronger than you) your technique will fail and you will lose. This also has a lot of technique you just don't see it because you don't practice the sport.
If you really don't know why then go ahead and wrestle. Easiest way to find out

I am a fan of all these types of sports but I always question the point system. Is there any player worthy of a point on a roll? What constitutes a point when visually it looks as if its a stalemate? So hard to judge and officiate.
If you can roll your opponent onto his back that scores points, actually if you can keep the roll going, you can win by technical superiority. And yes, I know i wrote a reply to a 3 year old comment.

it's more fun to watch instructionals or high school wrestling than this, they don't get past the handfighting
this is better because you are rewarded for spinning and slamming your opponent. collegiate wrestling is too focused on leg fighting.
