- The Oxford Bike Dock. A review by someone who actually bought one!
This video contains no endorsement.
I bought this to dock my bike so that I could work on it while it was on its wheels. Was I wrong? How does Dave Moss do it? I can make this work.
I was a very late starter to the motorcycling world. Other than riding around in my sisters bike in the 80S, I didn’t start until 2017. After I passed my full A test I bought an A2 bike. A source of bewilderment to many. Why not buy a “real” bike? It lead me to believe that; as much as most bikers are supportive they all question everyone else’s’ choices and who is to say they are wrong? Unless you have the cash and storage to by a bike for every purpose, all bikes are “wrong” to some extent.
It’s up to us to make then into what we need them to be It’s up to us to make then into what we need them to be.... and its up to us to find out what that is.
So then, this is about doing things for the first time, making mistakes, riding in different ways going to places, doing things, altering and fixing things, passing on the knowledge that I do have.

Just a quick thank you was about to buy two of these, one of which was for a ZZR1400 which makes your VFR look like a light. Think I'll steer clear.
I also own a ZZR1400, and I have been considering one of these to hold the bike in position while I locate the rear paddock stand. I think I will also avoid buying one.
I purchased one of these docks 3 years ago, very disappointed in it and I couldn’t return it,I decided to disassemble it and put it back in the box,now it sits in the lounge room with my tv on top of it,bad bike dock but left in the box makes a great tv stand
It looks like there is still some adjustment you could make to let the wheel drop lower ie move the top pin forward and/or the lower pin backward. Worth a try by the look of it.
Interesting. My Oxford luggage is still usable after 20 years, but I've found that their "gadgets" are usually just rebranded items, then Oxford bung a premium on top. You can't rely on a brand name these days like you used to be able too. I was looking at this clamp to mount on a trailer. this should have required absolutely no modifying to make it work to your satisfaction.
Did you try turning the top wedge clamp round 180 degrees so it is higher? May not work buy costs nothing takes seconds and although doesnt seem logical this possibly could be the solution?
Hi, place the pivot point bracket on the last hole as the bracket is meant to roll forward and lie flat, from your video this does not happen. If you are still experiencing movement park it up with rear tyre it will be more stable even though it is meant for front wheel dock.
It went down as flat as it could. If I had wanted to park it on the back tire I would just use the center stand.

I have just purchased one myself to transport my Yamaha FJR 1300 in the back of our toy hauler RV.
W O F T, $250 down the drain.
Put her in the dock/ stand strapped her in good and tight and she fell over. Thankfully no damage as I had put lots of transit blankets on her just in case.
Anyways it’s back to putting her on the Center Stand and strap her down back wheel first.
Will not be recommending this product as it doesn’t work as one would have expected.
@@andycommonsincanada Sorry that happened to you. I reviewed it an people told me I was wrong. It turns out that people who bought it, think I was right :-(

Thanks for the reply mate.
Interesting video thanks for uploading it I wont be purchasing one those oxford stands
Just purchased one of these stands to hold my FJR 1300 up in the back of our toy hauler TV.
WOFT it feel over.
Thankfully no damage as I had padded the hell out of it with transit blankets first.
I have gone back to putting it on the Center Stand before strapping her down.
Not a very good fit. I wouldn't buy one. Thanks for the review.
