Tanzania records 60% rise in investment projects

- The Tanzania Investment Center says it has recorded a 60 percent rise in the number of newly registered investment projects within one year of adopting the new Investment Act of 2022. The government says it is eliminating the challenges affecting the growth of foreign direct investment in the country.

Definitely. Kenya is tripping. In October 2023 a survey by KPMG reported that 15% of senior management in companies looking to invest in Africa over next two years favor TZ, compared to 14% for KE. I vaguely recall (stand to be corrected) another report that said at least 60 businesses migrated from Kenya to TZ in 2023. Makes sense to me. Would I really want to set up my manufacturing biz in Industrial Area in Nairobi today, vs Dar etc? The political and policy environment in Kenya has been utterly toxic

Investors will Normally move where there is inadequate investment. Where there is space and where there is a market. You can't open a shop where there are too many shops but instead where there is a market for your products. Why produce too far away from the market? Kenyan investors are moving there to pursue that market. It was a difficult market to penetrate before and kudos to the current government. Kenyans move your branches to Tanzania, the market is finally open.
Please do not come. Stay over there.
