was working at a theatre here outside of Boston back in 1997 or so and was lucky enough to spend the day with her and her Mom, she traveled with her back then. Lorrie was of course doing a show at the theatre and I gotta say, she couldn't have been nicer. Both her and her Mom just real sweethearts. Genuinely appreciative of all we did to make her stay comfortable and fun.
What a beautiful and talented woman. For me, she is better than the performers of today. The performers of the 1990s just seem much more genuine to me. Bravo Lottie.
Lorrie I've got the "FAIRY DUST " ...from Chicago THeatre show in 2004??? NO MATTER. YOU'RE A SPECIAL ANGEL!! YOUR ALBUMS (PRE- OLD ERA STUFF...) WAS MAGIC! ! Arrangment..PERFECT...FIVE MINUTES IS PRECIOUS, but it could a LIFETIME is the desire!!!!
Bum45669--My condolences to you on the loss of your father; he was certainly an exceptional songwriter. As a HUGE fan of both Ms. Morgan & Mr. McGraw, those are two of my all-time favorite songs, regardless of genre.
I totally agree with Therealmensa. This lady has an amazing voice and is an amazin woman. I wish she would get the just awards and recognition that she deserves. I would love to see her in concert.
I love her music, so much, my favorite song, I used to perform this for the girls at a drop in center for girls, this was a big hit, they all join and sing when I performed it, expresses what we women feel when we want me time, and words do express it perfectly in this song.
Best video out there BUT it will not load when i copy & paste #'s: ~ Born Loretta Lynn Morgan, she was the daughter of Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan. Earned a standing ovation at the age of 13 with her professional debut on the Opry, singing her rendition of "Paper Roses" When her father died in 1975, she took over his band and began leading the group through various club gigs. She married Keith Whitley in 1986 and two years later had a Top 20 hit, "Trainwreck of Emotion." Morgan's popularity was blossoming and she had just scored a major hit with "Dear Me" when Whitley died suddenly in 1989. Her number one single "What Part of No." was on Morgan's third album, Watch Me, and released in 1992.
@JoanCrawfordsghost ...you're right she's a great singer and composer....the peoples are not ready for this kind a song ....I live the same thing on the stage because I'm a country singer in some danceclub and I sing this song but it works for me because it's a good two step.....Lorrie Morgan is a great singer...and she's beautiful....
As a guy myself, I understand the sentiment of the song. Some of us need to understand that no means no. Guys who force themselves on women have no class and are an insult to guys who are caring and sensible. As to your comment about bars, bars ARE a place to unwind, especially in small towns where everyone knows each other. Not everyone goes to bars to get drunk or to flirt with people.
"American Dad" has used Lorrie Morgan's "What Part of No Don't You Understand?" as a cultural reference in an episode where Steve and his friend Snot try as hard as they could to get dates for the prom. But the girls responded, "What part of no don't understand?" See that? Even a country song can be used as a cultural reference in "American Dad" or any other Seth MacFarlane animated work. Like "Family Guy."
In this time & perhaps for a long time the part of the world population which is us Men some seem to have problems with the word NO which means NO, keeping in mind some innocent people have been blamed & imprisoned for things not done.

CLASS ACT LOVE YOU KEVIN ELLSWORTH
Am I alone? I don't think Lorrie ever got the full appreciation she ever deserved. The current country stars don't hold a candle to her.
