BenHigginsOfficial Heh yeah :D Hey Ben, if you have never explored Indian Carnatic style shredding and phrasing, check out Baiju Dharmajan. He has this unique style of playing which includes lots of grace notes and slurs and sliding and I think you'd love it if you haven't seen anything like that before. I personally consider him a legend. It'd mean a lot to me if you checked him out and maybe did a solo in his style on your channel. Thanks for all the inspiration. Have a great day! :D
Utkarsh Talwar I love those Indian style slurs and slides and sometimes try to incorporate them myself. I do something similar in my track, Hektor Tamer of Horses.. in the 1st verse. I just checked him out - it's good, it's a shame he doesn't have more videos.
BenHigginsOfficial That's amazing! *goes to listen to Hektor - Tamer of Horses* Umm yeah he doesn't upload many videos but if you check out his previous band Motherjane's album Maktub, I think you'd fall in love with the solos. I worship the Fields of Sound solo and Broken solo. :D You can find both the songs on TH-cam too.
13, 17, 18, and 19 were ON POINT man! awesome. props for adding Warren DiMartini in there! lol. Ratt 'n' Roll my brother!! also nearly pissed myself laughing at your bonus round Little Wayne impression. that dude plays the guitar about as well as Helen Keller plays tackle football.
You nail just about every player. We can talk about Steve Morse's staccato style.... or we can tak about your obvious love for FLAT 6's! Hopefully air-cooled haha!!
+BenHigginsOfficial Actually I thought he was spot on with many of them, but his guthrie was too linear. Excellent job though man, emulating these styles is not easy and takes a tremendous amount of patience and analysis. NICE JOB!
I never get tired of watching your videos ! It immediately kicks me in the ass and makes me pick up my guitar...which I just did before typing this LOL .I love how you have incorporated SO MANY of the guitar players that have influenced me over the years. Great work sir ! Cheers !!!
That was sick man, not even gonna bother to burst your bubble with a list of guys you forgot like I did last time XD Really excited to see Reb Beach in there though, that guy is still criminally underrated.
I typically associate Janick Gers' playing with the licks he plays at the end of his solos in Hallowed be thy name(live ones). I wonder why nobody covers that, they're awesome!
You're a killer player, Ben. Really nailed those guitarists. I shall watch this video many more times in the hopes that one day I may also acquire a fraction of Lil Wayne's impeccable tone, technique, and feeling.
Ben, kudos for another kick-ass 30 Shredders video. I found your solos very well representative of each guitarist, and I will say that you play some mean Reb Beach, Herman Li and Akira Takasaki
I'm especially impressed by your spot-on nod to Luca Turilli. As a fan of Rhapsody of Fire and his solo work I'm glad to see someone on TH-cam (finally) giving the Italian shredder some due credit!
I hope you do another one in the future too, there are still some shredders that you havent done and id love to see your attempt at recreating their style ben! Ahaha
What to say, the pure perfection , and this even more natural! .It´s nice to see that you included "newer" guys too - Petrossi and Suicmez, i think that the world will hear more of them, in the future... I bet that the only person who disliked the video was Lil´ Wayne :D
You have and incredible knack for emulating players. I'd LOVE some videos that talk in depth about the technical elements of the players' that make up their styles.
BenHigginsOfficial Hey man, eternally grateful for the 30 shredders video (it'll keep me up at night for the rest of the year lol). I was wondering about something, I can't for the life of me find any site that provides any solution to it, but any time I play fast, or just at a relatively quick pace my guitar tends to get kinda noisy, I guess it's due to accidentally hitting other strings or letting neighboring strings ring whilst playing. Do you know any solution to hammering out this problem? I basically want my playing to sound as clean cut as possible.
Amazing Ben...you're like a crazy professor in guitar oh maybe a "God"...umm btw...i just want to give some idea which could you create a classical masterpieces in guitar version especially from Niccolo Paganini's works... like Caprice No. 24 (like Jason Becker did) because i found that many peoples are attracted on classical music especially when it are arranged in metal tune...haha i know it pretty lame idea...well it's great to have you and your drummer in this world...because we are always appreciated the amazing masterpieces from people like you Ben...greeting from Malaysia...
Janick Gers's solo seemed heavily inspired from "Different World", though I can't figure out what song used the intro idea for the solo as well... Awsome video! The use of a real drum set ads a lot to the track, and the extra time for each shredder helps me understand their style more than your other video which is an improvement (the Michael Angelo Batio bit from the original video you made is amazing, but the real deal didn't realy impress me musically as much as the solo bit. Don't get me wrong though, that is one of my favorite bits of that video). A lot of these shredders seem very interesting, I'll defenitely check their bands out in the close future!
GOD DAAAAAMN!!!!! That lil wayne part looks impossible. Not many people can replicate solos from THE guitar god lil wayne, but you are one of the few who can. Im forever in awe at this incredible feat of amazingness

#9 is by far my favourite virtuoso to date, not saying i dont like any of the others, but Guthrie comes up with some amazing stuff, and he's equally as articulate playing on the clean channel. Ner Ner and Flatlands = epic!
