You're welcome Ben. We should be the one thanking you for doing the legwork on all those shredders...I'm learning the 30 shredders now. Although it's still going to be a long ride but I'll get there
This is incredible on so many levels. Uncannily accurate renditions of each guitarist played that well warrants praise enough, but to have worked out individual sections for that many, and then to do the whole thing as ONE TAKE - that's just an insane level of work. I feel privileged to have watched it.
So... I basically return to watch this video every few months, and I'm always SUPER impressed. That being said... it has always bothered me that the Paul Gilbert part was played differently than the original "30 shredders." There. I said it. Now do it again! haha... Now excuse me while I re-watch this for the 1000th time...
You are a genious dude, and not just for being shredding 20 minutes, because that compositions you've written are incredible. You deserve at least 1M likes
Awesome that you just did this old-school style. All technique (and some sound effects) no overwhelming reliance on whammy bars... no locking nut, just straight-forward playing. I think to many "players" get caught up in the 'trendy" stuff rather than the actual music itself. For example: How many "electric" guitar players could you hand a heavily strung acoustic too... without them sounding like they can't play at all. There is so much that goes beyond the scope of soloing that I think many of todays youngsters are missing out on. Music theory, for one.... acoustic playing and fingerstyle.... playing without effects... just hardcore basics.
What did I just witness!?!?! That one was one of the most amazing displays of guitar prowess I have ever seen... absolutely incredible!! 87 thumbs down? Put down the crack pipe and step away from your computer, people... nice and easy now...
Absolutely fantastic! The endurance, concentration and skill level to pull that off is amazing. I’ve not heard of quite a few, but I’ll be sure to check them out now. Superb virtuosity . Inspiring.
That was bloody amazing. As incredible as your guitar skills are, the vast knowledge you have of all the upper crust players is mind boggling at your age. Think I knew near 90 of them and grew up with all these shredders. I do believe you very well may offer the best course, cause that was quite the testimonial
Ben all I can say is are you from this planet? That is some of the sickest shredding I have ever seen and being an old school old dude rocker, I have seen a lot. I have been following you for about a year and trying to get caught up on all your vids, and that was beyond phenomenal. Your hands must of felt like mush after that. Your skills do not do you justice Ben. From the guitarist that I knew in that list you nailed them perfectly. That was a jaw dropping experience. Thank you greatly Mr Higgins. That was a sight to be hold. :)
This is probably the greatest guitar video I've ever seen. Its hard to fathom putting something like this together and playing it as flawlessly as you did ; let alone how few views it has. You deserve alot more recognition.
it's all there: musicality, nice vibrato, expressive and flawless technique, real tone, and as if that weren't enough, even the methodical diligence to get into the mind of a whopping 101 guitarists ....that beats all the records. I have always found that working out how other people play and figure out why they sound the way they do, is even harder than just writing my own music. I remember Friedman saying the same thing.
Truly amazing! What an endeavor! I copied most of those shredders my whole life and you did a fantastic job of conveying the essence and physical characteristics of each player. And you know so of many of them... The work that you took to put that together coherently is a way better accomplishment than any hit song today. Who is that drummer? He was really good too.
Great video! So many great homages, and such a superhuman display of stamina and mental preparation. Thank you. On a personal note, I made more progress after watching your lesson illustrating that single-note-tremolo was the best place to start developing a "fast" right-hand technique than I had in 20 years of approaching speed incrementally from the bottom.
This video was my best teacher years ago, it helped me to learn tasteful riffs without any problem and have a big arsenal, thanks Ben! Now as a music teacher and 10 years playing guitar I'm so grateful!!!!
Can't believe I never saw this video before. I was watching and was like, "Where's Shawn Lane?", and then surprise!- #101. Thank you for including Alexi Laiho.
Wow wow and more wow, an incredible piece and you can really hear each of the individual nuances and style references to each player, well the ones that I know of of course. Amazing piece of work
I just know that this is going to be amazing before I even watch it! Also, please make a bassist, drummers, keyboardist compilation with other people and upload it to your channel! :D
No U2's The Edge? ...Kidding. Always love your videos. For the "150 Shredders in One Solo" edition, may I humbly suggest Wolf Hoffmann/Jörg Fischer (Accept), Matthias Dieth (U.D.O.), Adrian Vandenberg (Vandenberg, Whitesnake), Steve Lynch (Autograph), Vinnie Vincent (Kiss, Vinnie Vincent Invasion), Trevor Rabin (Yes), Dann Huff (Giant), Roland Grapow (Helloween), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Mark Reale (Riot), Ian Crichton (Saga), Michael Sweet/Oz Fox (Stryper), Steve Lukather (Toto), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), and Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy, G-Force, solo)?
Very impressed mate. At the begging when you said you said you couldn't do what those other players do.... Bull - You outplayed them! And 101 in a row what the hell ! Well deserved likes.
I was getting worried that Vito Bratta wasn't going to make the list. But there he was at #91. 🙂 Should have included Night Ranger's guitar duo Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson (who also does 8 finger tapping).
Well! I can honestly tell you that Ben Higgins is now the name I am throwing out when someone asks me who the most capable guitarist I have ever seen! A player can be famous or talented, but to make a video like this? It takes one of a kind musician. Out of all the guitar players in the world, if I could choose one to be my teacher, it would be Ben! I'll be watching this video few more million times.
Saw Vinnie Moore with UFO in a little club. On the Schenker stuff he was ok, but on his own songs, he was fantastic. It's really hard to play in someone else's style. Amazing job!!!
Great job Man🎸. it would be cool if you made yourself a video of guitar players (Riffs or solo) from the 70s. Hendrix, Clapton, Back, Page, Blackmore, Gallagher, Kossoff, Iommi, Gilmour, Alvin Lee, Santana, Allman, SRV, Zappa, Lifeson... 🤘🏻👍🏻😉🎸
You've gained a subscriber, this video is out of this planet! Like someone said, certainly you haven't enough recognition as you deserve for your playing. I definitely need to check out your other videos

Great, well I hope you enjoy it!
@@BenHigginsOfficial I'm still waiting to see Patrick Rondat stuff on your videos ! can you do it please ?
When you forget to hit record
LOOOOOOL
BITE YOUR TONGUE
when your string breaks right before 101
...That was the greatest lick ever....opps
Oh no that would be the unendurable misery after playing so well in one take ...... “one take “ :O
This is incredible on so many levels. Uncannily accurate renditions of each guitarist played that well warrants praise enough, but to have worked out individual sections for that many, and then to do the whole thing as ONE TAKE - that's just an insane level of work. Jamie Witt well said. This guy deserves more recognition
you dont get nearly as enough recognition as how amazingly you play
Ben Higgins: You can see it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly...
*proceeds to play all of them flawlessly*
David Ritty he made a slight mistake at the John Petrucci one. You can even see him saying "FUCK"
Anyone remember the name of the song that he plays in his own part?
@@stefanos821 it sounded quite good tho lol, prog you know
Yep not a missed note

Omg!!! didn't think I'd see you here 😅
You made my childhood with your videos and your comment on this video has made my early adulthood!
I remember subscribing back when you did the first 30 shredders...still convinced it's the power of the arm hair. Take my like you beautiful man you!
Haha well it works for me, Joe Satriani and Bruce Dickinson!
Very true, lets just hope no-one gets too close with a Gillette. Keep up the awesome work dude.
The sheer endurance necessary to do this is impressive enough !
but you just nail everything on the top of that ! :)
(Shawn Lane = Final Boss)
Max Faust final boss jajajajaja
lmao no buckethead is the final boss. He didnt play everything buckethead can play and nobody can
@@guittardaxel7746 Bruh, have you even seen Shawn Lane play? If you had then you wouldn't compare him to Buckethead.
Jason Becker would also be a final boss as he plays at Shawn's speed lmao. But Buckethead in no way could match Shawn's speed lol
mani simp Paul Gilbert was his teacher😅 But Buckethead jammed with Shawn Lane
You are a genious dude, and not just for being shredding 20 minutes, because that compositions you've written are incredible. You deserve at least 1M likes
My plan was to ask where the f**k was Little Wayne... Got trolled instead...
I love how he puts Marty, Dave, Kirk and Chris together
After Chuck, best part
He played better than Kirk himself
@@Marisolita_95 what are we hating on Kirk now?
''Hidden Level:Lil Wayne'',well played Sir,well played,specially after Jennifer Batten,who is a super skilled player.
I had her shrapnel record. Ben was on point with her tapping.
In Synyster gates I found a little bit of scream, beast and the harlet, and bat country 🤘🏻
Hat country.
THAT WAS INSANE
Most people won't appreciate what went in to distilling these styles down to a few bars each, then putting this together.. Fantastic job man.
You seemed to have a hard time with that Ben Higgins fellas solo...
I know... fuck that guy!
Hahahahaha
BenHigginsOfficial I know a few girls who would!
How many Millenniums have you been playing for?
This video deserves way more views, good job bro!
As a big Buckethead fan I gotta say that solo has really on point.
4:46 Poland is by far one of the most underrated guitarists.
8. Ritchie Blackmore
10. Dave Murray
35. Janick Gers
Mi favourites.

I just checked eBay: it has crashed from the massive influx of barely used guitars for sale...
you are an UNREAL guitar player man. You captured so many different styles in one solo. amazing video
Mr .Ben this was THE most bad-ass guitar playing i've seen in my life , You have my respect :)
Respect for adding Ritchie Faulkner, Michael Amott and Quorthon! Didn't expect to hear those guys in here! Amazing job, you inspire me so much
Love the hidden level. A little suggestion: Marco Sfogli and Plini are some of the names you might use for your next video ;)

Who is that drummer? He was really good too.
Thanks David, that's Jan Vincent-Velazco on drums
I was watching the Holdsworth cover and started to type "What about Shawn Lane?" Guess you saved the best for last!
The background riffs and music are just as creative and really help tell you who the shredder is.
Honestly... This was Really REALLY Impressive.
Totally stoked to have seen Quorthon and Ihsahn in the mix. This was a bad ass project, worth the year grind. Subscribed.
Just when I think I'm getting the hang of shredding, this video punches me in the face.
Truly some of the best playing I've ever seen
What an incredible undertaking. Ludicrously accurate. Amazing job Ben.
i love how he put Vito Bratta on this video. Good technique, well played and also a good video, man!

I didn't mean to watch the whole thing, but there was no way I was turning this off... my mind got blown somewhere around the 12:27 mark.
I love your playing! Incredible how you've managed to capture 101 styles seamlessly :D
Do I play guitar? No...... But it’s very obvious that this is INSANELY awesome! The endurance is mind blowing alone! The precision is amazing!
Thank u bro for remembering criss Olivia. I knew him and Jon. Lived in Tampa my whole life. Can't believe it's been 27 yrs.

Nice touch adding the jazz greats McLaughlin and Holdsworth
