The fact that he came back from that utterly destroyed knee is nothing short of miraculous. He tore his ACL, PCL, and meniscus, dislocated his left knee cap and broke his left leg. S Dot! His IQ off the ball was really special too most people only watch the ball during games and don’t rewatch games but I’ve watched every warriors playoff game over the run 3 times or more and I pause and rewind and replay every play so I can see what happened off the ball on offense and defense and it’s really where most of the game is happening when it comes to winning team basketball like warriors play. I never watch games live either I record and then stay off social media and phone and start like an hour or 2 later and then I don’t have to watch any commercials so I can do the pause rewind replay thing. I never did this before but this warriors team in 2014 and after just really got my love for basketball burning again I played in college at high level so I know the game but the warriors with splash bros and Draymond really brought back my love for the details and things 99% don’t see live. My point of all this is that over the years with Livingston I noticed he had an instinct, a “feel” as Kerr calls it, something you can’t teach it’s something in his mind that he can recognize how to make winning plays that won’t get a stat and won’t get noticed by 99% of people because they are happening off the ball. Livingston and iggy were the best at this they both were in tune with splash bros and Draymond and even Durant and the timing and pace and angles they were just connected to those guys and they got them so many rhythm shots over the years it’s beautiful to go back and watch. And Livingston had huge moments and games scoring and passing too he really stepped up in huge playoff and finals moments and without those moments they might not have won a finals or 2. Same with iggy he gets a little more credit. I hope he comes back or coaches/joins warriors like Livingston they are both such a big part of what they have built their minds for the game and love for winning basketball always stood out.
Outta high school he was the best player in the country two state titles in peroria central committees to duke number 1 pick. A 6”9 point god suppose to be the next magic Johnson and was Lebron before Lebron
This man is one of those reminders that even the bench players on an NBA team are much, MUCH better than anyone you or I will ever hoop against. IDK that I've legit ever seen this man miss a middy and he was backup. Insane.
The amount of time he's holding the ball up until he reaches his jump apex is something to look forward to. It seems his release point is always at perfect 0 mph.
I remember playing 2k 16 and had Livingston come off the bench it was always almost no miss from midrange when I used him in the post dominating a small PG
I may be forgetting somebody so forgive me if I’m wrong. But I think Shaun Livingston had the 3rd best mid range game & post up fadeaway in league history. Kobe & MJ are the only two guys that have him beat.
