I thought WOW! We are not aloud to have a phone on the floor so I tried to remember the lyrics.
By the time I was at home a forgot the lyrics.
Today I heard it again! And I literally wrote some words down on a piece of paper…
During my lunchbreak, I got my phone and searched on Google the words I wrote down.

By the time I got home I searched the band on Google… Guess what!!!

Honestly: I love the ethereal sound to your previous music; this is a nice new attempt to get out of your comfort zone and I wouldn’t want to discourage innovation, however this sound is too (for lack of a better word) generic sounding (just means you haven’t found your footing yet with the new sound. Keep trying, while also still rocking your tried and true sound.) Meanwhile these lyrics are excellent. A guy finally realizing what he’s had - but actively discouraged - waking up and trying to get it back/keep it. I don’t fully hear the female’s side of it; and of course there is the open-ended question of whether this will work or not. Broken trust can be hard to mend. I find these lyrics a little less esoteric than your previous songs, a little more down-to-earth. I would humbly suggest you try to combine the earthy-realistic lyrics with your trademark ethereal sound and see what you get and how people respond. I believe you may come up with a big hit. Good luck. Love your work!

It’s mind blowing how a single song of barely 3 and a half minutes is able to portray such complex emotions. I fell in love with kite in a hurricane the first time that I heard it at one of your concerts. At that point the song hadn’t even been released yet. I couldn’t get it out of my mind though and was ecstatic when it was finally announced to release. The song has accompanied me since and I now have many memories tied to it. It indeed evokes a hurricane of emotions in me. I’m looking forward to listening to kite in a hurricane many times more and also hope to see it live in concert once again🤞🏻💙
