Where are you finding these muddy carpets? I would think that youd scrape that top layer of mud off before starting the detergent scrub step.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I spray detergent and scrub first to soften and smooth the carpet fibers, avoiding damage to the carpet fibers when scratching
