Although this is a very difficult performance to listen to and even more difficult to watch, Hua is the real master of putting emotion into songs, he digs into his personal feelings and puts them into his music. He has lived for many years coming to terms with his own deep loneliness and also suffered from depression and believes that by sharing and raising awareness it can help others to heal. He asks people to be aware of others around them and to reach out and talk to them.
This was originally a straigth rap song by Jay Chou, rearranged and adapted by Hua Chenyu as a mentor/judge for a music varity show called The Next.. btw one of the best music shows ive ever seen
Es una actuación excepcional ✨ es una pena que no la hayas podido disfrutar con imágen. Hua Chenyu tiene esa cualidad de llegar siempre al corazón. Gracias por tu reacción
So sorry, the actual video of this song was taken away. You will truly appreciate this song if you watch that video. Never mind, there are other popular songs from Hua Chenyu. Still, l really appreciate your reaction to his song. Thank you 🙏
Now you know what the song is about, absolutely recommend you try to find the live performance. It is heartbreaking. Before it was removed with English Subtitles, hulking big men were sobbing their heart out by the end. This wasn't Hua Hua's story. He was GIVEN this Rap song to arrange the way he wanted, and perform it in 24 hours. 😮 He reached into his own lonely childhood to emote the words of this song.
Thanks for doing this request! I actually think he was doing a cover, and not literally singing about his own family life (I could be wrong), but, if it was a cover, he did it so well, it seemed like it was his personal experience he was describing...
Hua Hua's parents divorced when he was a baby. His father was rarely home and left him with caregivers. So I don't think this was personal, but his own loneliness as a neglected child gave him insight into other forms of abuse.
It is not his story. He was given this song and had to rearrange, learn and perform it within 24 hours. The original song is a pure rap song. The way Hua Chenyu performs it (monologue style) makes you to pay attention to the lyrics more.
My favorite Hua performance. So sad you could not see the actual performance due to copyright. It was so emotional. He was so convincing I thought it was his personal story only to find out he had only a very short time to work on it and it was not his story at all. He had me crying like a baby.
If you can watch the video, it will be more infectious. Personally, I like this adaptation very much. Very novel. That kind of emotion makes people feel the same way.
The original video of this performance was taken down from TH-cam. You can still find it in the whole episode of this TV show. But it is difficult to find plus it would surely got blocked. Seeing his performance makes it absolutely heart breaking. This is not his story but he makes you feel like it is.
The song quickly got the reputation of being the saddest song in the world, and I guess China didn't like that image being put out there, like domestic violence only happens in China. I wish I had known you were going to react to this song, I would have given you access to the video. Personally, I think it is the greatest stage performance of all time. The audience was left stunned, you could hear a pin drop for a good 30 sec after the song ended. If you'd like to react to the video now that you know the word, my copy doesn't have subtitles, let me know.
Hua Chenyu can express anything with his voice. Thank you for reacting to him. He's a beautiful soul. ❤
