Hua Hua's parents divorced when he was a baby. His father was rarely home and left him with caregivers. So I don't think this was personal, but his own loneliness as a neglected child gave him insight into other forms of abuse.
It is not his story. He was given this song and had to rearrange, learn and perform it within 24 hours. The original song is a pure rap song. The way Hua Chenyu performs it (monologue style) makes you to pay attention to the lyrics more.
My favorite Hua performance. So sad you could not see the actual performance due to copyright. It was so emotional. He was so convincing I thought it was his personal story only to find out he had only a very short time to work on it and it was not his story at all. He had me crying like a baby.
