- Hakko Denshin Ryu is a school of martial arts, that I myself am a part of. So me being me, of course I had to dive into it's history. So in this video, I'm gonna take you all the way back to the beginning. Then I shall guide you step by step until we get back to the present. Are you ready?

The connection back to the days of the Minamoto clan is dubious, but the history of the aiki arts is nonetheless fascinating! Are there any technical differences between Hakko Ryu and Hakko Denshin Ryu?
Okuyama studied under Matsuda Sensei for some time then studied with Takeda Sogaku for a period of 10 days, I believe. This was a common training duration. Okuyama wanted to use the Daito Ryu name publicly, but Matsuda wouldn’t allow it, so he broke off and started Hakko Ryu.

You must understand that the history written at the time was that written to glorify murderers and betrayers. The Sasaki-rokkaku clan which is shrouded in mysterious tales are survivors of such a tradition of thieves. You should know takeda martial arts contain a number of similar techniques to those in Sasaki Shinobido aikijujutsu and bujutsu.
Are you saying that because of the Rokkaku mon resembles the Daito Ryu mon? Or are you saying that because Sokaku Takeda has got Tengu in his nickname or because he went to Sappuro Hokkaido where martial arts masters would seek him out to learn spycraft? Or maybe your saying that because the Black Dragon ran intelligence networks using all these different masters, the Hakko guys nickname is Spine of the Dragon? Just wondering why you mention the Sasaki shinobi because i have never heard them mention what they do being called Shinobido Aikijujutsu?

Palumbo was a shihan San Dai Kichu under Shodai Soke who struck out on his own and started his own thing, Hakko Densho Ryu. As far as I know there was no hard feelings or anything, he just went his own way. Wrote a few books on the art, I've not read them yet
