Actually, a lot of missions do have gym time for the missionaries. And I think it’s not just an age thing, it’s a maturity thing. The guys who go on missions spent 2 years learning responsibility and living outside of themselves. That’s something that can’t just be taught at practice.
@@brookie2532.... many missionaries when they return from missions no longer have the drive to compete in Sports at a high level and their priorities have change as well.
Hey drake, let’s not have this guy on here ever again lol. Dude doesn’t know what college football is all about. 12 team playoff is a million times better than only getting 4 in💀
Why would ppl be angry about Colorado success? So weird…. To think someone who has always been successful at sports and has been coaching at all levels to success that they wouldn’t take P4 serious is disrespectful
"The second team in the Big XII (currently Iowa State), what have you done to be better than the top 3 or 4 teams in the SEC?" The top 4 teams in the SEC are Texas A&M, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee. *All* of those teams have lost to someone outside that group of 4 except Texas, who has had a cushy season otherwise. Iowa State is undefeated. What *can* Iowa State do to prove they are better? They've literally done all they can so far. Your definition of "excellence" is apparently just "be a top SEC team". Other teams need to have an opportunity to prove they are excellent. That's the whole point of an expanded playoff.
"The SEC isn't going to get 5 teams in because they're going to gobble each other up." I'm so sick of this bad take. The SEC pads their schedule with an extra non-con game. Tennessee lost to *Arkansas*. Alabama lost to *Vanderbilt*. LSU lost to *USC*. Ole Miss lost to *Kentucky*. These are not good teams beating each other up. These are overrated teams losing to bad teams. Arkansas is the best of those and they lost to *Oklahoma State*! Vanderbilt lost to *Georgia State*! Mizzou lost to every good team on their schedule yet they are still ranked in the AP poll and have a shot at getting into the playoff. The only games that fit this claim are Bama v Georgia, Texas v Georgia, and Tennessee v Bama. Despite that Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia are all still in the top 7! All above 2 undefeated Big XII teams!
This Barrett guy is clueless. Honestly, just putting a bunch of SEC in Big ten teams into a playoff will eventually destroy the paychecks of the people in college football. Lots of people in this country like watching college football, but they don't necessarily like watching the SEC in Big ten play. You've got to give them a shot at playing. It's the same sort of thing with NCAA basketball. Eliminating access or reducing access for most of the country is not a path for financial success.
I have a FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTION to the mentality that benefits any team in a playoff by granting them a bye. PLAYOFFS, to be truly valid, REQUIRES A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD. When NCAA allowed the SEC and B1G to expand the playoff, it should have DEMANDED 16 teams. AND, because they are getting paid, regardless, the LOWER SEED gets to host first round games.
This guy is what's wrong with college football. He talks about liking college football for the uncertainty, but then all he really wants is SEC and Big 10 teams in the playoff. You can just see Drake cringing. "Excellence over access"..... please, all he cares about is the name and conference logo on the jersey. Can't have excellence when you don't have access. He sounds so disappointed that even 2 Big 12 teams might get in.
I'm not Mormon, but I saw a stat the other day saying BYU'S average age is 21.5 years, and the rest of the nation is 21.0. definitely older, but not by as much as I assumed!
I just looked up the nonconference schedules for texas, george and alabama, unless I'm missing something, none of them have played a team that is near the top of another power conference. If we get to the playoffs and the SEC wipes the floor with everyone else, then we can say for sure the SEC is better this year, but this is why a 12 team playoff is a good thing. If you are going to declare a national champion then you either need to have teams play twice as many non conference games or you need AT LEAST a twelve team playoff. The other thing is do we care about who is the best team it the end of August or in January? If a team drops a game in September, should they be put of the question for a national championship if they are dominating great teams in November? I completely disagree with the excellence over access argument. If you really want to determine excellence, then increase sample size.
Smothered a covered is not a good resource for college football. He is a Big 10, and the SEC gets all the teams in the playoffs if he likes those teams. Automatically better no matter what is not correct. It is a feature to not have one loss derail the season. If there was a real playoff in 1984 would buy still have gone undefeated. This guy is biased. BYU may not have to win out to go to the playoffs. Byu may not be undefeated by the end of the season, but unless they win more, the playoff field is relatively likely to have two or more Big 12 teams. The Big 10 and SEC are not better inherently than the Big 12.
KSU wins out. KSU will be 2024 Champions. KSU is very capable of beating ISU. At ISU. lol Unless it snows in Ames gameday. I'll give a shout out to Colorado...
Lol.......unless it snows.......love it. Ive seen so many people pick ksu over isu. Season ticket holder at isu for over 20 years. We could win out, or we could lose Saturday to Tech. This Iowa State season just seems different. No way should we have won that game vs ucf. We stayed the whole game - expecting to lose. However, that comeback was incredible. Brecht went from having his worst game at qb to Superman in the 4th qtr.
LOL 'BYU is old' - that is the oldest, dumbest, criticism against BYU -- funny how it only gets brought up when they're kicking ass. If it's such an advantage, other teams are free to send players on missions, too! Good luck.
You don’t know many BYU fans if you think they are confident in BYU’s ability to win the Big 12
Nah, big fan over here. 100% confident
TDS fans are always overconfident. They might be right this time, though
Barrett I hope you don’t do this full time because you don’t know what you’re talking about.
The guy says BYU is old but then loves on Cam Rising?? The guy is 25 years old. BYU avg player age is 21.7 yrs old. This guy is a 🤡.
Covid equalized team age and BYU is dominant as ever. 2 years not playing football or hitting the gym from 18 to 20 doesn’t make you a better athlete

I don’t like this guy Barrett sallee , you clearly don’t watch Colorado the Oline has improve significantly
Drake, you are ROCKING that BYU hoodie!
The B12 should not promote the Deion factor. The league needs selectors to think less about "brand" garbage and more on actual results.
Colorado would beat byu

BYU is going to be the big 12 champion
Kansas State has largely gotten it done but looked pretty shaky. I don't think they're under the radar at all.
Why does brand matter? If we are doing a playoff then which teams are best is all that should matter.
Don’t ever invite this guy back. Ever.

Sorry, but the SEC talk freaking sucks. Get this outta my Big XII show, brother.
BYU will beat Iowa.
I'd love to see your bracket where Iowa gets to the CFP and plays BYU.
BYU isn't playing Iowa.
