I have such fond memories of this game. For a movie inspired game it was absolutely dope. The gameplay felt so tight and controllable. From the melee to the firefights the game was just pure awesome.
Kinda had a Revelation while watching those takedowns with those quick camera cuts, and then it hit me. I really do have a soft spot for unarmed combat/cqc/melee combat. From RDR2 to GTA 4 to The Warriors, AC's unarmed moves and Syndicate's Brass Knuckles, Sleeping Dogs counters and environment takedown. Even the RPG melee/unarmed builds of Fallout/Oblivion/Skyrim. And to my personal favorite, the Yakuza series. And plenty more... There's that feeling you get when you straight up throw down in a video game. The thrill of an unarmed/CQC fight, for some reason, feels more intriguing/personal than a gun fight.

This was awesome! I've been wanting to play this game for a while ever since I saw videos and clips over the years but it seems like it's always hard to find both in-store and online. Maybe some day I'll get my hands on a copy or some developer makes another game similar to this.
People who say videogames aren't fun because we grew up are completely wrong. Videogames were used to be more simple and more variety, for example shooter nowadays you only rely on Cod while Battlefield is at its downfall. Open world videogames are stagnant at GTA 5, and RDR2 might be the only different videogame in a while alongside with Battlefield 1 in recent years. Its been a harsh time for videogames to simply be something different than nerdy videogames like Gow, open world like GTA V and Multiplayer like Cod. There is literally nothing competing with these 3 which makes me kinda sad about the videogame future. I really want some type of Vietnam war 3rd person shooter, a WW2 shooter focused on the least recognized countries who fought in the allies, a open world game set in different parts of the planet and also a great spy game/John wick style game like Splinter Cell Conviction.
this and that bond game that was in your last video has some of my favorite takedown animations ever. though bloodstone had it right with just having one button whoop ass takedowns cause the hand to hand in this game as good as it sounds just takes me out of it. anyways an undefeated generation for licensed games they were on a roll.
