Held in Columbia, SC. The 2016 International Plastic Model Society held a four-day event showcasing some of the best built static plastic models in the country. HV was there and presents some insight into the event.
Cool video man! I used to build models but haven't in a long time. Perhaps a 1/5 th scale Mopar muscle car or a Ferrari F40. I have never attempted to have that "real look" that i see in your videos and the European guy that does tanks. Thanks for your production. When are you going to build an rc plane with a radial engine?
Thanks for the video as it's the first IPMS show video I've seen. And while I'd love to go to one of these to see everyone's builds, I'd hate it too. Simply because my wallet would be AT LEAST a thousand dollars lighter from buying kits alone that people were selling. And when I get home with my newly acquired treasures, it times to sniff and fondle the parts while reading the instructions while "seeing" what they'll look like when I've built them.....only to stash them in The Shed to go with my 1,500+ unbuilt kits.
Daaang, that is alot of models (you wouldn't happen to have any Buck Rogers starfighters would you?). The space ship you mention is not from any movie or show, just a fantasy scratch build.
The working lights on some of the models.... It just gives it that little bit extra, i reckon.. I really like the models that are placed in a diorama.. It adds a story to the model
