I've been told ATV works very well with a driven trailer because of how the drive systems interact automatically. Essentially the trailer is master and the ATV is the slave, helping when needed.

I saw a movie of a skilled ATV driver that traversed some really gnarly terrain with an ATV and loaded Avestavagnen. I would not have made it with my mini tractor, that's for sure.
