As beautiful and harmonious as this sounds, and as much as I admire your talent, I can never listen to this song and not picture an exploding piano or xylophone.
Well since she's playing a violin, I expect it to segue into "Come On Eileen"...
To your loss. Have loved this song for over 50 years, nothing can diminish it for me.💕
@@sharonrogers6541 I think he just means it reminds him of come on eileen lol
Bugs brought me here. I stayed for the beautiful story and music.
Thanks, everyone! Your support and views mean a lot! This is such a special song and video to me. I love the message behind this true love story. And this song is the first Celtic music I every played...I also know and love the Quintons, who sponsored this video, and am so grateful for their generosity and kindness to me.
YOU... are an amazing musician. This was a stunning arrangement... transporting to a different place and time.
Jenny I realize your father is one of the most hated people in America, but since you were a kid in the 80s the least he could have done is let you watch Bugs Bunny cartoons. Why didn't he? Do cartoons upset him just as much as church members who take the Sacrament with their left hands?
Her dedication made it even more dear, and brought tears to my eyes.
You were not afraid that maybe the Violine could explode?
@@Paddymysterio1 I was literally looking for this comment lol thanks you made my night!
Thanks for the historical context. I think most people know the song for its use in Looney Toons' Xylophone gags.
Jenny, we're fans. Seriously, beautiful.
GOD Bless You Jenny and Your Beloved‼️❤️💔😢
I'm here from Dexys I always thought that the opening was beautiful and now I know the real story. A song for all time
I'm just discovering Irish, Celtic, and Scots music (Papa's doing). This is wonderful!
Thank you Miss Oaks Baker!
1:19 BOOOOOOOOOOM
I wish music was like this in today's age instead of rap and hip hop
There is still plenty of this kind of music being made. Be thankful that it isn't being worn out and soul-siphoned by the mainstream.
What's wrong with Hip hop?
I wish i could go back to 1850 😁
One two three and to the four
This is gently and gracefully powerful; tender, genuine, and strong. Just like Jenny Oaks Baker :) A lovely tribute to true devotion that transcends mortality. A standing ovation for this one--beautifully produced.
A song well over 200 years old... such a lovely and singable melody. And the words so well expressing a powerful love. Not does it make one weep for these beautiful reasons, but I weep because society is such today that such a song does not resonate with us.
It has strong beat.
It has no hyper-repetition.
It has words that require thought.
And we think we are evolving.
Song well over 200 hundred years.. And it's now known for an exploding C note played by a duck.. Love it
What an performance by a beautiful mother and daughter last night at the Spokane WA TOFW. It was an incredible treat for all!!
This song is such a blast!
Lol blast lol
Yosemite Sam agrees
Can I just say "Come On, Eileen"?
Love the poem, the music, the story behind it....and your presentation. Respect!
Everything about this rendition is beautiful...the playing, the arrangement, the mixing, the video, the artist. Thank you.
Wow! So many references to the Looney Tunes cartoon gags that used this lovely song.
But honestly, those were some hilarious cartoons!
Jenny, I Ioved your performance for TOFW in Spokane. To watch how much your daughter enjoyed playing with you was so special. Thank you.
Also, love the green dress :D

Very astonishing!
SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!! Touched my soul. Thank you
Beautiful!
Jenny this video made me cry and the message behind the story of the music close to my heart thank you.
J'avais l'habitude de chanter cette jolie chanson depuis quand j'avais dix ou onze ans.
Je ne savais même pas que c'était une chanson irlandaise.
Cette chanson est toujours dans mon cœur et le sera.
And
Forget about "KABOOM"
I've already removed the detonator. :)
I love this song and your violin rendition of it. Thank you!
the "Boom gag" is so deep in our unconscious that I can not help but feel a little anxiety when I listen to the theme
Beautiful...thank you.
Love everything about it! ❤️. As a piper, I would love to hear the great highland pipes at the crescendo. Thank you for sharing your gift and talent.
Beautiful Jenny. Thanks for your lovely music. We listen to it often.
Dear Jenny, I love this. It's so romantic, beautiful, inspiring, and emerald. I played this song, different arrangement, but my playing has a long road to go before it meets yours. Since many of your videos are in Scotland, I was thinking your genealogy is there. If I could travel to any country, it would be Scotland. I love you, Jenny, and think of you everyday, and pray that Heavenly Father protect you and your family when you travel and keep you safe. Love, Janice Teruko.
This song calms me when I'm feeling stressed. :)
This is so beautiful as well as the story!
What an amazing story, thanks for sharing. l think it's the most beautiful love song ever written, and the history proves it. wow.
Awesome!
1:19 KABOOM
It's crazy how beautiful this song is! I'm only used to it from the Looney Toons! This was a nice surprise :)

I had no idea there was such a powerful story behind this song. I first fell in love with this arrangement when it showed up on a compilation CD I have. Gorgeous. Thanks for the context!
I love the story and it was a thrill to go to Ireland to recreate it!
You are so good at replying to comments, Jenny. I've feel like I've gone a bit of a Jenny Oaks Baker binge today. :) By the way, your logo is wonderful. Kudos to whoever you got to design it. Every time I see it I feel like it is perfection.
Thanks! I love it too. Doug Thomas designed the logo. He is super talented

Why you don't tour in Europe - it's hight time! First Switzerland - at KKL Lucerne / Luzern - on of the most impressive concert building in Switzerland . :-)
*This video best explains the background behind this beautiful song, and the great love this husband had for his wife. But the words are important, and are best rendered in what I consider to be the absolute best version of "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms" ever sung:* th-cam.com/video/pvtubassnmE/w-d-xo.html
linda ..El Morya
Does the addendum "American" in any way contribute to the quality of the artist who admittedly sounds very convincing?
"OOOOOH YOU STUPID RABBIT, LIKE THIS!!" - Yosemite Sam
🤜
BOOM🤣
I kept on expecting the violin to explode!! LOL
the secret, you see, is chosing a key that none of the phrases end on C4
I searched the world over, and thought I found true love. You met another and phht! you were gone.
Hey-where is the KABOOOM? There supposed to be an earthshaking kaboom?
Let's-face-facts: WB cartoons have spoiled this piece for generations to come. Same way Tom & Jerry and the 3 Stooges spoiled "voice of spring"!
It's beautiful. But it's too fast.......slow down a bit.
Poor old Johnny Wright.

Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms
which I gaze on so fondly today
were to change by tomorrow and fleet in my arms
like fairy gifts fading away
Thou wouldst still be adored
as this moment thou art
let thy loveliness fade as it will
and around the dear ruin each wish of my heart
would entwine itself verdantly still
it is not while beauty and youth are thine own
and thy cheek unprofaned by a tear
that the fervor and faith of the soul can be known
to which time will but make thee more dear
oh the heart that has truly loved never forgets
but as truly loves on to the close
as the sunflower turns on her God when He sets
the same look which she gave when He rose
Isn’t this from lord of the rings?

Not the emotion of the original.
