Oh my goodness, really, someone wants you to edit the sewing out? If they do not like the sewing fast forward or turn your volume down! The people that do these videos are taking their time to do this for US. Rachel, you just keep doing what you’re doing. You could be vacuuming and I would still watch. Love this, I need to find some bags like these. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Me, too! I remember someone commenting once that they would watch her if all she was doing was buttering a piece of bread. I feel the same way, I would still watch if she were just sewing straight lines on something!

I love watching your sewing projects. I wouldn't want you to edit any of it. I would say that the majority of your viewers love watching the step by step process. For those that dont, they can simply fast forward. I really love this journal cover. It is so beautiful.

Rachel I have learned so much from you, at no charge. I wonder why those who criticize or ask you to do things differently are thinking when they are getting you expertise at no cost. You are so generous and helpful , you really do not need to apologize. ❤️

Lois, I didn't even think about that aspect. So many people are switching to patreon, which I understand, but I don't participate and usually quit watching the 'freebies" which built that channel and subbies to begin with --

thank you for the lovely sound of machine stitching. As a child, I was lulled to sleep by the sound of my mother's machine. The delight was that by morning I would have a new frock to wear to school. I have fond memories of her dedication and the sound of your machine reminds me of her.

I have only started using my sewing machine, since I started making journals. I really need to see you doing the sewing. It helps to build up the courage to give it a try. Please don't do anything to accommodate those people who don't enjoy the noise. It's ridiculous. They can turn the sound down. I can't turn down not being able to see something because of their complaints. It's selfish. I am annoyed with them! Do your process your way, please, Rachel. The whiners can put a cork in it. I have been watching you for going on 2 years. I don't complain about anything that you do because I admire your process. Your videos are wonderful just the way that they are.

Rachel, I want you to know that I love the sound of your sewing machine! I find it so relaxing and it calms my "nervous nellie" mind. I think it's because it takes me back to a time when my Mother would sew on her machine in the evenings...and all was right with the world. I'm astonished that others find it annoying, but I guess it just goes to show how different we all are and there's usually 2 sides to everything. Anyway, please keep your sewing machine going and know that I am gratefully relaxed 💙😍💙

I'll try to be polite -- if the sound bothers you for any reason, just mute for the 10 seconds it takes to sew. I LOVE the sound of sewing machines, and Rachel has a very nice one and sounds different from mine -- she can't please all of us, as much as she tries. She has anxiety about outside noise, being on screen, volume and it goes on and on -- uploading videos, because of the YT platform, not her personal internet speed -- takes twice as long as the video itself -- sometimes longer -- I uploaded an hour video at Christmas and it took four hours, and we have FIOS -- Everybody is cranky right now, and worried about what if you or your loved one gets this virus -- 25,000 people have died in the US since just March, and probably a whole lot more whose deaths are being contributed to another cause because they weren't tested -- My fear is that Rachel will stop posting, and again that's selfish of me -- not just her lovely personality, but her work is amazing, and I have deep, deep jealousy of her fabric and lace collections -- not to mention her books that are older than my country (the US) -- so I am politely asking, to those who are unhappy, before you comment, please think of the rest of us who love her videos, and try to resolve the issue on your end -- muting is easy, a click of your mouse or a tap of your finger -- posted with kindness, Patricia PS: My post does not include -- I'll get your name wrong, so please forgive me -- Sandra? -- your posts about her using labels are so funny, are not mean spirited in any way, and make me laugh every time -- especially when you confessed to using a label of your own -- HA !!

Hahaha, it's Sherry! She really cracks me up and I know she secretly loves my labels! I put them on thinking of Sherry everytime!!! You are always so kind! Stay safe! Thank you so much!

Rachel... your videos keep me calm and inspired. Never allow anyone to make you make you feel you should change a thing! It amazes me how one person feels they are so important everything a person does should be tailored to their liking. I've seen it on other channels as well. I love everything you create, the process, and your genuine personality. Big crafty hugs from far away!

Wow really, I can’t believe someone would ask you to edit out the sewing machine noise! This is your craft channel and sewing is a part of your craft! As you so politely suggested, she has a few options if she don’t like the sewing machine sound. Please don’t change a thing to accommodate that silly request! I love your channel just the way it is, sewing machine noise and for me the longer the video, the better as I love watching you create!! I so enjoyed today’s video as I am fairly new to the art of making junk journals (which I absolutely love) and I enjoyed learning how to make a fabric cover!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us and keep on using your sewing machine!! Hugs from America 🤗

Hello my lovely. This is such a beautiful tutorial. Absolutely love the look of it especially with that key. I am sorry others want you to go beyond what you can give. It is not fair to expect this of you. You are so right editing would totally disable your ability to upload as frequently as you do. To give you an example, I have been working on editing my recent uploaded videos for over a week now, I uploaded four of them a couple of days ago. One of them took four and more hours to edit, the other three, took 3 hours each but more is involved and I havent even factored how much time that took. That is 13 plus hours of editing for four videos. It totally stole all my energy, time, focus and attention, everything else gets thrown out the window. It is so time consuming and today I had enough, so I am taking a rare break from video editing and kit organizing and watching a few videos back to back and you were on my list to watch. So Rach hun, you do beautiful YOU!!! Your videos and tutorials are AMAZING! You are so wonderful trying to be so accommodating but not every request is reasonable or fair. This is your channel and we are your guests and we absolutely love & adore and are grateful for everything you do. We are here because we love the Rachel Roxy way of crafting and videoing! And we wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you so much dearest Rach. Huge hugs. XX

Gorgeous cover. Sounds like you are not letting the critics get to you, which is good. Essentially your cover is a mini quilt. One thing quilters do to keep the layers flat is to work from the center out. That way you can pull things snug more easily as you work.

Wow oh WOW! That is just beautiful Rachel. I’ve been struggling with the lace placement on my cover but I think you have helped me with my thought process..so grazie! As far as the sewing machine noise goes...stick with what you’re doing. Looking at all the other comments below mine I think the general consensus is that whoever was complaining has no ground to stand on.! Being old gives me some leeway in what I say but I’ll be polite and just say majority rules...and the majority says don’t change a thing! And don’t apologize..you’ve done nothing wrong.

No no just keep doing what you always do It’s difficult to understand some people!! Your crafting knowledge is given us free and now we must dictate to you what we don’t like No no we must be grateful here As you say people have many options if they don’t like the sewing machine noise I for one am so so grateful that you are willing to share your craft knowledge, family and story telling Much love and thankfulness xx

I have always wanted to try a lacy journal cover so I really enjoyed watching your process, so I am happy that you ignored the ignorant person who complained I hope they are on today and see and read all your messages about that so she can realize she was being a big cranky pants. I was gifted a big tub of old doilies, hankys and curtain lace so I have been itching to do one of these . I have no problem cutting up the tattered ones but it is definitely harder with the really nice ones that are in good condition. Then I go to a thrift store and they are selling for 50 cents to a $1.00 each I think the highest price I have seen is like $5.00 for a bigger pieces.. This has turned out so pretty I even love the inside fabric. Thanks so much for the share. Please stay healthy and happy.
    Hugs and Smiles

I like watching you sewing, if people don't want to watch the sewing parts you can double tap the right hand side of the video to fast forward 10 seconds each time, it's not that hard but slot harder for you to either edit of keep stop, starting your video! Love your videos Rachel's, don't apologise for anything especially when you say sorry that it's too long, I'd be happier for them to be longer, you always have such great ideas, very inspiring and love to just catch up with what's going on with you 😘 keep up the great crafting and don't change a thing xx

I love, love and did I say love this journal cover!! I enjoyed your sharing the sewing process as I am new to sewing, and learned what to do when sewing pieces like this together. I stitching on the inside of the cover is very eye appealing to me, as well. Rachel, thank you for an extremely useful tutorial.

I like the stitching inside too and it's a great way to hold your layers together. It also makes the cover feel much firmer. Thank you so much!

Rachel, please don't change the way you make your videos. I like the spontaneity and watching your thought processes at work while you collage. If you edited, it would lose the charm and appeal I like so much! Keep 'em coming! Another thought, have you thought of a Q and A? I would like to ask a few questions about your tea dying process and ephemera printing techniques. Thanks from Melbourne, Oz x

I haven't done one before. I use Medieval Mirage's method of coffee dying, she has many methods. I use 10 tea bags with 2 spoons of coffee. I leave it to steep until the water cools down. Thank you so much!

Thank you Rachel for this detailed video. As I’ve said before sewing scares the heck out of me, I do have some antique lace and have been scared to use them so maybe it’s time to put them together and have them where I can enjoy them. Each lace reminds me of the gorgeous relative who gave it to me knowing I would cherish it. What a beautiful way to do this. I also appreciated your detailed instructions. Sending you hugs to you and your family, I love the way they are part of your videos. 💕💕🥰

I love you and your videos Rachael. You have kept me company in the evenings and on occasion helped me go to sleep in this stressful time. You don't put me to sleep, you just put me in a wonderful state of happy, so sleeping is easier. Sewing machines are a life source, keep sewing and let us watch and listen. Yes we will watch you butter bread and vacuum and sew all day long. Thank you!!!!

I love your videos and the sewing machine ‘noise’ motivates me to get mine out. I’ve been off work this week having some downtime after a hectic and chaotic few months and have found these videos not only inspirational but very relaxing - I love the chatter with your family, your thoughts on how you make decisions etc ... please don’t let the ‘noise’ of complainers in and keep on doing what you do it’s just 👌 ... 💜

Rachel, you and I craft a lot alike. And I have to say, we aren’t bodgy crafters, we are ‘organic’ crafters. Lol. Embrace it people. Also, you can never please everyone , but if they don’t like the sewing they can always fast forward thru it. Just do you because you’re very very creative and they like you or they wouldn’t be hereto complain about something so silly. Very pretty cover btw
