These guys usually impress me with what they accomplish in relatively crude working conditions. We are accustomed to clean factories and polished machines, so we forget why other peoples are so resilient when we send our military all over the world. I enjoy these videos because it shows how America used to be when we had to make do with what we had. Human creativity and tenacity should not be underestimated.

Totally agree. The west & Japan are continuing to evolve and improve technologically. Some areas being significantly advanced evolve a little slower, but the west generally leads the way in most technological fields. I lived in India for 19 years, I live in the US now and have for 37 years. I’d much rather live and work in the west.
I don't think you know what a good job is. Good jobs aren't don't in sandals and rags. Good jobs aren't done on the dirt floor with no workbenches. Why do these people make so many things, but never a workbench. Is there even a single workbench in India?
I need to get me a pair of those welding sandals. 😀 Great work guys. Anyone that can't appreciate this work lives a posh and overprotective lifestyle. It must be boring for the haters to never be a real man.
There’s a special craftsman’s class you have to take in order to get them, necessity is the mother of invention and some of these guys just flat out won’t be DENIED!
I wear Croc's and all welding splatter enters the hole in em, guaranteed, so I to would like a Pair! They seem Excellent in Welding, Not sure how there Eye sight is long term!
I just love this old school stuff……they mostly use bare minimum (the automated cutting torch was kinda the only exception) to get a big job done. The way I learned in the late ‘50s. Inspirational.
This is called necessity is a mother of inventions . These are the skills without school and these are the standards of safety and salary without unions so stop judging from your standards, appreciate what you have and admire what others don't have but still doing it .
Pro Tip: always clean the rust and mill scale before welding. This practice has nothing to do with using what you have and everything to do with a good weld. Old springs are good steel and the hard surface weld pattern helps a lot. These guys could be a bit cleaner.

Having grown up around a bunch of farm welders with no formal training, I’m convinced that whether or not the operator thinks it will work factors into how strong the weld is.
Muy habilidoso para trabajar, solo que desde mi personal opinión el costo beneficio no paga por el tiempo que paran el equipo para instalación y reemplazo, por elntipo de acero A36 que utilizan. The core might be hardox, which would be tough, but I would be more inclined to think it's all mild steel. Whatever it is, they did an impressive job with limited resources
For the surface they have used spring steel ,from a leaf spring, the right and cheap material for the job. What they have welded on, must be some kind of wear shield . Not for real hard rock, this welded on spring steel is brittle , you cannot weld a coil spring like this
Welding in sandals. These guys should take better care of themselves. I’m pretty sure they can add a few cents onto each job get themselves some proper PPE

They are completely oblivious to litter and a messy workplace. They do get it done though.
The is what this generation is missing. Anyone can learn to weld, but to fabricate in your head and turn it into an end product is the real skill

I wouldn't be mad about those teeth their nit harden steel the front plate added that digs into the ground id will not take a fair amount of work
