    For years I felt on the verge of mental instability. James Finly was one of the voices of compelling reason that gave me stability when mainstream Christianity no longer worked. His voice of compassion and empathy helped me through a hard time.

    When we can’t get over the high jump bar and wear ourselves out. God places it on the ground and we trip over it and fall into the arms of God Love that description

    "A Walking Mistake"?
    How did you know that is what I have often felt!
    Now, through God's merciful intervention, I am thrown back into my teenage reading of Thomas Merton, and the CAC and feel I have a chance of starting to be what I am meant to be in the years left to me, after more than three-quarters of a century in the world.
    God bless you. Please pray for me.
    PS Is your Therapy diary full for then next decade?
    PPS I only got up the courage to write a Comment by being very tired.

    His expression of this frame of mind is something I’ve looked for for a long time.

    This is so valuable and beautiful, especially around 33:00 where he talks about how Jesus got the sick and ill to see beyond their illnesses to their true nature in God. That is what the miracles are all about

    thank you for helping me to not have to jump back and forth between buddhist psychology, new age blends and Christianity!! Some voices are hard to listen to but James' is just perfect! PTL

    This is so beautifully explained, I am inspired to turn more towards contemplative meditation. His voice is reassuring, loving and resonating like a cello with a soulful tune. Thank you so much!

    This instruction is beautiful. Mr. Finley s content and delivery are spotless. Meditation is a very effective tool for my connection with God.

    Christian meditation is millenniums old. The Bible states to meditate upon the scriptures and on the Lord. The Catholic Church has a long history of contemplative prayer. The monks and nuns cornered the market on it.

    Is this guy under any scrutiny from the Vatican for his approach to prayer?

      so what are you then, and why do you want to know/what a yes or no answer would do for you?

    • @d1427
      @d1427 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      are you, Robin conversing with me? if you do then, to clarify- the point of my initial question to antidepressant11's question [lots of questions here...] was exactly the one you were making, i.e. why should anyone care [which i further synthesized in 'what a yes or no answer would do for you?']
