Eric, thanks for the videos. I'm a disabled veteran, and it seems like my body is just deteriorating from all the meds I am on. I ran the weed eater for 5 minutes this week and my muscles are so sore I feel them at the slightest movement. I grew up on a farm, and I got it in my system, I can't drive my riding lawnmower without it causing a firestorm of aches. I really have enjoyed being your side. Kick. You are very generous. Thanks again. JD from Alabama.
Mom and I took over Dad’s farm after he passed.... I’m grateful I helped Dad fix things, and I can use tools... but glad to have your tips on things I didn’t do often... like tractor stuff.... thank you!
4240 is one of of the best John Deere's large farm I work for has one on the mixer for the past 15 years. It had 25,000 hours on and they had to rebuild the motor, it's now pushing 60,000 and only major break was a new injection pump this summer.
We switched over to a10w-30 oil for colder weather and it makes it a ton easier to crank a diesel in cold weather. When it warms up the next oil change is back to the 15w-40 and we have no issues with wear on the engines. Just an FYI for you.
That's not bad. When they started turning the engines sideways in the cars 250 transmission for the front wheel drive on the 87 Oldsmobile you had to take off part of the passenger side fender well to get to the filter.( "To position the transaxle".) I usually change what autocorrect puts in there but this time I thought it was hilarious what it thought I said.
@@EFCasual There is a small plug right under the filter housing that can be removed & put a small container under it so it will drain the oil from the filter before removal, but sometimes, when time doesn't allow, it is much faster to just let the oil run down the frame. Going to powerwash anyway.
So glad to see you continue to post! Big BIG "Thank You" for all your hard work "keeping in the loop" those who choose to be (and those who are are forced to become) armchair farmers. Sorry I cannot afford your tshirts , I’m COVID poor but I try to watch all the ad’s and support you in every way I can! I love your farm family life Eric! Your Dad too!
The inside of the cab looks like a well used farm machine. I think I once suggested that Eric wear safety glasses. Nothing like the satisfaction of watching crud come off with the power washer. I ordered my shirt and am looking forward to wearing it. Thanks for the fun and interesting video.
Your little smirk when putting on the safety glasses made me chuckle. Love your content of your videos. You do a great of making the simple tasks interesting.
Looks like the 4240's engine could use a power washing...Great to see you wearing safety glasses...And now you're power washing the 4240 and the new'ish Kubota. Eric - thanks for the video - it was fun to watch. Stay safe and say "Hi" to dad.
I use a piece of expanded metal screen on my bucket. This way I can drop the plug on the screen and not get my hands covered with waste oil. Love your videos. From BC.
Looks clean! You can order whole new decals for the kabota. They are not hard to take off and easy to put new ones back on. It is nice to have things look good for at least a few years.

You should use vaseline, engine grease etc with a light a mount you silly goofy potatoe heads any way I love your content man I dont care if you put peanut butter on that o ring its your farm and your equipment thanks for sharing!
What.... no safety glasses while pressure washing???? 😂😂😂. Awesome video doing maintenance. Looking forward to getting my long sleeve shirt!! Cool design 👍🏻👍🏻
Do you ever get very annoyed? No matter what happens you always describe it as a little bit of a problem, a bit of trouble... I appreciate the positive attitude.
That's not old. It runs on diesel and has more than two Pistons, that you turned over by hand with a large heavy flywheel to start it, with a tricycle front end, and a hand clutch. Now that's old. Oh yeah, and across from the flywheel is a flat belt pulley to run the threshing machine, and grinding mill.
Great to see you getting the feeder tractor serviced and cleaned out and washed. She is looking well and sounds sweet running to. Pity about the stickers on the skid loader but these things happen Eric. Great video and intresting plus you explained why you put oil on the cell it will save as you said about comments.
Oil keeps the rubber seal from bunching up and causing it to leak. My dad taught me that as well. Channel lock pliers can open the lid on a 55 gallon drum. Open them up all the way and lay them flat.
Drum opening! You picked the second hardest way 😟 there are lots of different combinations to choose so I’ll just go with the same tools you had ok. The drift bar , place it vertical next to lug in cap n hold, claw of the hammer 🔨 behind other lug but horizontal as you can. Rotate. Now your smart enough to work out the rest 👍
Those rotary nozzles are nice.... they remove a lot of material, very quickly. But remember.... that's basically zero degree tip. It's just moving in a circle. I've stripped a lot of labels (and paint) off of equipment with those. They'll also put water where you don't want it... inside seals, inside bearings, under o-rings.... Good call on the safety glasses.... gave me a chuckle. :)
When you need to open a oil drum you can use 2 flat head screwdrivers. Stick one vertically on the tabs and use a longer one horizontally from the other tabs across the other screwdriver near the bottom close to the drum and push the handle of the horizontal one away from you.
Had a rock come sailing at my head shattered the glass. A little scary😂😂 I’ll think about putting that in the video Lol 😂 safety glasses look. Pure upbeat great video THANKS 😍
With the tractor waste oil if you put it into a barral/container and put wooden stakes in and soke them in it, it makes the stay in the ground much longer and prevents them from rotting as much

You gotta love that filter position. Makes a oil change extra messy.

Yeah, that position is perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with an oily frame.
