Hey there! This is a Pipe Band Bass Drum. It's a totally different Beast from other types of marching Bass Drums: different shells, hardware, heads, mallets, etc. The sound is beautiful, especially when played by Monster Drummers like Fergus here. @@RhythmMonster Thank you for the reply... Aye, 'tis so!!! Still, I can see this thing as a kick drum. Heck, I would not be surprised someone actually does that. Now, I am a bagpipe enthusiast. Even tried to learn it myself, sadly... I am autistic (aspergers), and with that gift comes a form off lesser feeling, physically. I can for instance withstand enormous pains, or real freezing temperatures. Downside is... most of the time when I have a cut or so, I am not aware of that. So, try to play the pipes... when you can't feel the holes on the chanter... But I can distinguish a brass band, marching band or pipe band bass drum from the other, most of the times. :) I figured, I can get over that, you know, brain-2-muscle automatism, but for that... you need to learn... and to learn that... yeah, you guessed it. But hotdarn, what a sound your bass drum makes... Such sound should be EVERY kick drum have on the planet. About that, hardly any other band type bass drums gets such a warm, deep tone... while it is basically the base of music, no? And those drums are quite BIG as well, and still lack the power, the depth... Could I have a brand, maybe a type, please?
