Taiwanese all wear masks, too. (and everyone usually has masks at home even during normal times.)
despite what the WHO says, masks clearly help. 50-80% of transmissions are from no/mild symptoms ppl -- if everyone wears masks, then you greatly reduce spreaders.
and tho surgical masks are not very effective at stopping aerolized transmission, they do still help -- that's why nurses wear them. if every single person wears a mask, 75% of them will still have had effective protection against aeorilized transmission -- as long as the transmission period was a few moments (e.g. an elevator ride).
ONLY reason WHO advises against masks is to make people not hoard them, and to make sure healthcare workers can find them.
but in an ideal situation where everyone has masks (e.g. Taiwan), then there is NO REASON why you wouldn't wear a mask.
seriously. go look at the places that wear masks. China. HK. Taiwan. Singapore. Korea.
then go look at places without masks. Italy. UK. France.
hell, compare a city with LOTS of masks (Vancouver) to a neighbor with no masks (Seattle) -- Seattle has 5x more cases and 11x more deaths.
    MASKS HELP.

As a Taiwanese high school student.
I would say the situation is kinda different between seniors in highschools and kids in elementary schools and what you have seen in the video.
Teachers and parents from elementary schools put a large effort conveying kids correct concept and telling them what they should do while facing COVID-19, and kids will also obey to teachers' even if they don't understand the reason. As the matter of fact, kids has been well protected by adults, and elementary schools has became the most safety area among all places.
On the contrary, a lot high school students are lack of alertness and don't know the danger that they are facing. On top of that, students deeply believed that Community Infection won't happen in Taiwan, and COVID-19 will no longer exist soon, which cause the phenomenon that no one wear facial masks at school even if the government keep emphasize the importance of masks, and I believe that is a big problem that will cause a irreversible epidemic situation here in Taiwan.
I think Taiwanese students, government and all the citizens should face and to deal with the problem as soon as possible before the worst situation happens.

Taiwan’s investigation into the virus by actually sending her own team into Wuhan, China instead of relying on second or third party news and quickly responding and implementing various measures to make the virus traceable is a model for the world. I really hope that world governments can learn from this.

Very true 👍 I have watched many Taiwanese dramas, although I don't understand mandarin and watched through subtitles but i still liked it. I also watch one or two Chinese drama but I always felt the difference in both their dramas even being the same language and i even didn't know earlier which country drama i was watching, i always thought it was Chinese. But later i saw the difference and searched through Google and got to know all of those except two were Taiwanese. And I always liked the story and culture of Taiwan better than Chinese ones. And now the way they controlled the outbreak is mind blowing. More respect for Taiwan 🇹🇼 from India 🇮🇳

THANK GOD! I finally heard the correct term "physical distancing" instead of the questionable "social distancing." What does social distancing actually mean? How can I be socially distant? Am I autistic? I know I can be physically distant as well as emotionally distant, but socially distant? Even though I am more of an introvert, I do have my set of friends and have kept them for decades. Social distancing is just another NLP in this PC culture where more accurate words used in the past are banned while new terms, with vague and even contradictory meanings, are used to mask the negative connotations of certain words.

    Support Taiwan!🇹🇼
Taiwanese government and people have always been helping the world for such a long time every time disasters happen. It’s a small country but they always be the kindest and donate the most money!!! Taiwanese people always donates an unbelievably great amount of money. Most of the time even more than those bigger countries, could you believe that? They are not rich, yet they always lend their help hands without a doubt and without asking anything back. So it’s time for all of us to help Taiwan gain more recognition it totally deserves! Help Taiwan be safe from those constant threatening come from the evil government of China! Give justice to Taiwan! WHO is ridiculous but we cannot be ridiculous. Without any help, Taiwanese people has been always fighting on their own. Can you imagine this? I’ve never seen any country so kind like Taiwan.(and I’ve never seen any government so evil like China. I’ve never seen any organization so heartless like WHO.)
Though Taiwan they are doing good so far, no one country can bear isolation for that long, so just like all other countries in the world Taiwan they totally deserve help!!!!! Stop isolating Taiwan!!! Stop doing the wrong thing, start support Taiwan to make the world a better place!🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼
And when this pandemic pass, visit Taiwan or perhaps live there for a period of time, experience it yourself then you’ll know why people love Taiwan.♥️♥️♥️
