Nice video! My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

Hej Hästen, I´ve been watching lots of your vids since I discovered you last week and you´re a funny bloke. Besides, I´m a Japanese scholar too so I´ve been wondering whether you get to get back to Japan any time soon. We might meet there once :-) (I´m a Slovak living in Czechia, so no great hope in meeting up in these parts). Good luck with your vlogs! Ivan

You have to admire Swedes!! Not only do they learn English as children, but they learn British English. Sounds like they are going to have tea with the Queen!! Also a source of wonder is their ability to use the "F" word multiple times in the same sentence as well as other choice words. M6 LTF gets road rage and is quite adept at flipping other motorist thr middle finger while yelling profanities if they cut in front of him Actually he also let's out a number of Swedish profanities which I have memorized. I hesitate to use them when his family calls from Sweden as Idon't know precisely what thry mean but something tells me not to use them

I have studied both but I probably no more individual Japanese words than sentences and have been learning Swedish for 11 and a half months now. I most know English, French, and Russian but way, better at speaking than writing. I still struggle to write in English most of the time.
Arggh Swedish Pronouns and wording endings "En and Ett! I might get it eventually, if I could put up with English a cluster F of every other language and grammar rules that makes no sense, French a language that is not spoken how it's written 90% of the time, and Russian where words are phonetic but long, and have different cases, I am sure I can get Swedish lol. I have only every said, I am out to two languages Hungarian and Icelandic.

It struck me how much you speaking Swedish kind of sounds like Boris Johnson speaking his Etonian brand of English.
Glad to see the long standing sink joke made it’s way in there!
Any plans to play End of Dragons as it’s East Asian inspired?

In school, I was always top of my class in English. I had very high marks in Literature and the Arts. So for me having become a little bit of a perfectionist there, Swedish and other languages being so backward and jumping around so in verse really messes with my head and makes me wish all languages were straight forward in sound and word like English is. I get so frustrated when something like "Can you please pass the bread", becomes more like "The bread pass please can you" LMAO.

Even with my LTR friend and roomate being from Sweden I can recognize some phrases in Swedish but cannot pronounce them. I picked up some Swedish from your Intermediate Swedish tutorial. Unfortunately,I am nearsighted and didn't see the translation. I was stupid enough to try the little Swedish I knew on my roomates family. I thought Swedes were laid back but they didn't say much. They were too busy laughing because we were on a Speaker phone and heard me tell my LTR I wanted to give him a bath with my tongue and do filthy things to his body!!! I can manage pretty good in Italian but Swedish is dangerous for me

Mylta (?) sparked my autistic curiosity. Im a native speaker but have never heard the word, or in any way perceived a confusion about its pronunciation. The only thing i can find is "Mylta" meaning cloudberry jam, but in that case the pronunciation seem to be quite uncomplicated seemingly without any strange fricative.

Swedish is among the easiest languages for a native English speaker to learn (according to US military). Only Norwegian may be a tad easier. English syntax is closer to Scandinavian than it is to German. Many everyday basic words are also more closely related, even identical in spelling sometimes (hand, arm, etc).
